menstrual-cycle

570004 tn?1226980196 Over the past several months (since about July – a month or two after I started on levothyroxine) I've noticed that my menstrual cycle is about a week shorter than it used to be. It was about 36 days before, but now it seems to be about 28 days at most - if anything it's getting shorter; not going back to the way it was before. Does anyone know if this is normal / related to hypothyroidism? I am 31 years old. Thank you.

Avatar f tn Have you had a period since ur miscarriage? I don't think spotting is a sign of ovulation, it may just be some old blood, I have read it is commen to spot alittle between periods after a miscarriage.
Avatar f tn For the majority of women, a shorter-than-average menstrual period is no cause for concern. As women age, their cycles regulate and the days of bleeding may shorten. It's not uncommon for women to have periods lasting only a couple of days. Women who are worried about the decrease in the number of days on their menstrual period should consult their physician. lifestyle of the woman. Stress from work or relationships may cause the bleeding to become more severe or stop sooner than normal.
Avatar n tn You count the length of your cycle from the first day of your last period to the first day of your next period. The length of your mentration does not calculate. Once you know the average length of your cycle, you can find out when you are supposed to O.
Avatar n tn Can a shorter menstrual cycle mean pregnancy? My period usually last 5 to 6 days. I have been a little off track for a few months for example I either start every 30 days or 32 days, this time it was 32 days. I had a little heavier than normal for the first day and then when the 2nd day was about over it slowed down. Now the third day I am just spotting? Can this mean I became pregnant before my period started?
Avatar f tn Few days ago, on saturday (now monday) I got period like pains and the following day I started getting brown discharge. what could this mean?
Avatar n tn But, as you can see, there are a lot of qualifiers in this statement. For one thing, if you are getting that menstrual-month length from an app, it's possible it was averaging and that your months are not that even. If some are shorter and some are longer than 36 days, you could have been on a shorter month when you and your boyfriend had the somewhat careless sex.
Avatar f tn So by cycle you mean that your *period* is lasting a shorter and shorter amount of time? If that is the case, YES it is normal! You can have a period for ONE day and it's still normal.
Avatar f tn This month, I was actually already thinking of taking a pregnancy test but then it came today and I was a bit disappointed to see it. I just want to know does having sex delays or disrupt your menstrual cycle? It has happened to me three month now ever since I had sex. Thanks.
Avatar f tn If you have sex before the period is due, and the period comes as usual, then you are probably not pregnant. But having sex right after your period does not reduce the chances of getting pregnant, in fact, that's some pretty good timing for getting pregnant.
Avatar f tn The last day of your cycle is the day before your next menstrual period starts. The average cycle length is considered 28 days, but many women have longer or shorter cycles and it's fine. The average women ovulates approximately 14 days before the start of her period, but again, that is certainly not carved in stone. The time between your ovulation and period is referred to as a luteal phase. Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn I am 40 years old, female. My first round of bloodwork was done 3 days following my mestrual cycle start -- showed Ferritin 212, Prolactin 9, TSH of 9.73. FSH 6.8. I was prescribed Synthroid, 6 months later (doc's office "forgot" to call me) of 0.025. I felt fantastic for about a week and then could feel my original symptoms of tiredness, etc. again.
Avatar f tn I have also been a lot more stressed than this, and still had a regular menstrual cycle. If it makes any difference, I just started have sex in early July, but all protected. Condoms were checked before, even during, and after to make sure they didn't break. What else could cause my period to be so late, or miss it altogether? My regular menstrual cycle is around the middle of each month. Most of the time between the 10th and 15th.
Avatar f tn I have been having my menstrual cycle for over a month now and it's starting to smell like metal or iron. I also have this pain on my right side. It's not a heavy flow but it's messing with my lifestyle. What should I do?
Avatar f tn Hi there, Are you referring to your menstrual cycle tracker? Or are you using the My Cycles app as well? According to your menstrual cycle tracker, you are on cycle day 33. If you are using the My Cycles app, the pink/red lines on certain dates are when you are on your period. The green lines are when you are expected to be fertile or in other words, when you would likely ovulate. Your predicted period is shown with pink/red and white lines.
Avatar f tn wait until you're due for your next menstrual cycle. then try taking a pregnancy test. since you had bleeding 15 days after your normal menstrual cycle it could have been an implantation bleeding. but I'm not a dr. but I would definitely test after you miss your next menstrual cycle. good luck to you, hun!

Avatar f tn Peri-menopause can start at any age, and your symptoms sure to point to it, just because the lab work does not show it,does not mean you are not entering it. The lab work is only a picture of what is going on for that moment. Have you had the saliva test, this is very accurate and tests for all the hormones, I would certainly ask for you if you have not had one. Endometritis can also be another cause for the heavy bleeding. Having a sonogram of the ovaries, etc, can tell if you have that.
Avatar f tn So this week is my fertile week and I am having white discharge what does this mean ????????
