Menstrual cramps cause vomiting

Common Questions and Answers about Menstrual cramps cause vomiting

Avatar f tn Has anyone experienced menstrual like cramps early in pregnancy? I am almost 6 weeks and have off and on menstrual like cramps anywhere from my sides to my pelvic area. I had an ovarian cyst rupture recently so I was told the pain in my side came from the fluid left around my ovaries and that it would take care of itself. It has been 11 days since the cyst ruptured but I still occasionally have pain.
1395422 tn?1308019851 Everyone woman knows what a menstrual cramp is. It may come as a surprise to many that menstrual cramps have another name. The medical term for these abdominal and pelvic pains is “dysmenorrhea”. More than 50% of women are affected each month by a certain degree of dysmenorrhea, and 15% of those women are experiencing severe cramping. Isn’t this PMS?
1043607 tn?1253240417 I've been having these painful cramps for almost a week now, without vomiting or diarrhea. They almost feel like menstrual cramps - in the back - except for they are higher up, and all through out my midsection. I have never had menstrual cramps that felt like this, and I'm not near my period. I would say it's similar to the feeling you get when you have diarrhea, but I'm going to the bathroom as usual, no constipation either. They are becoming increasingly more painful and it's kind of scary.

Avatar n tn After having a regular menstrual cycle my whole life, my period stopped. My LMP was December 26. I am on a 28 day cycle. I find this very strange. I am now 14 days late. I had a prenancy test done today and it cam back negative. About a week and a half before AF was due I cramped as usual. This tyo me was normal and I just prepared to have my cycle for the month of january but it is now 2/3 and no AF just pubic pain, nothing unbearable just annoying and posterior pain.
Avatar f tn Worse than menstrual cramps, and reminded me of when I was experiencing contractions from labor. The pain radiated to my lower back also. The pain has been off and on for a whole week now, with some days being better than others. It gets a lot worse if I'm even the slightest bit hungry, and as soon as I eat the cramps stop. I assumed it was food poisoning since this all started immediately after my meal on Monday, but I've never heard of it causing cramps for a week straight! Any ideas?
Avatar n tn I got my three days ago and am still having bad cramps as well. I agree w/ the poster who said it is more like labor pains then menstrual cramps. ugghh I am so frustrated I tried going for a walk today and the contractions (for lack of a better term) got so bad I had to stop. And umm, brooklynn86 I had sex last night and I do believe it made my cramping/back pain worse today.?? I wouldn't recommend it until the cramping at least lessens.
Avatar n tn I still havent had a menstrual cycle and it has been 5 weeks and 4 days since my miscarriage. We have been married for almost 13 years and we have been together for 19 years and we havent been blessed to have a child yet although we want one very badly. He is to the point after this miscarriage that he said " Im giving up". Im on fertility treatment (Clomid 100mg) and my husband has been tested and has a low sperm count.
Avatar f tn I'm still having cramps, but they're definitely mild. Still, when you feel cramps that FEEL like menstrual cramps, you kind of freak out. I'm trying to stay positive and not think about it, but it's hard. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR TEST LWITTE! I'll be praying for you this week! Let us know how it goes!
5070096 tn?1363139197 They may also prescribe a muscle relaxant, which can decrease cramping. The sharp pains are quite possibly very bad cramps. Cramps happen when the uterus contracts in order to push the blood out into the vaginal canal. The uterus has a whole muscle layer in order to do that. More bleeding usually means more pain. I get those sharp pains and can't walk during them. When those cramps are very bad, I sometimes get hot, sweaty, and nauseous-- and sometimes vomit.
1927233 tn?1326673987 It took a couple months before feeling back to normal. I was fine until my menstrual cramps got so bad I ended up at the ER. I was told I had Endometriosis and Ovarian cysts that would require surgery. Shortly afterwards, I suddenly came down with viral gastritis. It never really went away. I had stomach pain, bloating, malaise, weakness, food sensitivity and rashes for months. Endoscopy showed chronic gastritis, a hydrogen breath test showed fructose intolerance.
Avatar n tn 2 months later, i was feeling little flutters and movement so I went back and had an ultrasound to make sure i was not pregnant because i am having menstrual cycles every month. the ultrasound tech spent maybe all of one minute on the ultrasound and said i was fine. this was just an urgent medical place not an OBGyn.
Avatar n tn I also recently discovered that my liver functions are elevated. We think the cause is that I've tried a number of different anti-depressant medications during the last four or five years. I don't drink, and a viral profile came back negative for hepatitis. I somehow wonder if all these things are connected, but I just don't know enough about it. I haven't had an upper GI or any ultrasounds, so I guess that is the next step.
Avatar n tn it's like being in labor, with no relief for at least 2-3 days. I NEVER had menstrual cramps before the procedure, just heavy bleeding. At this point I would prefer the bleeding in lieu of the severe cramping. My doctor said the ablation causes blood to be trapped in the uterus and unable to find it's way out. Now I am seriously considering a hysterectomy, the two days of pain cause me to lose work and I'm tired of it.
Avatar n tn I dont kno how far along I am they just told me that it was really early on. Im worried because I been having menstrual cramps for about 10 days but no bleeding. Wat should I do? How long does this last??
Avatar n tn I am still getting cramps though. My endometriosis was treated however they said it can still cause unexplained infertility. I am so sorry but I am not sure at what stage of the process you are both at, I did look back over everything written but am still a little unsure. thanks!
Avatar m tn If Lyme is left untreated for many years, it can eventually cause ALS, MS, Parkinson's and a host of other auto-immune diseases.
Avatar n tn Usually something such as pain would cause fainting/sweating/vomiting type symptoms. Primary dysmenorrhea (bad period cramps) could cause this or it could be more serious such as endometriosis. Either way, birth control pills should be very helpful to you! Another thing to try is Ibuprofen or Aleve, these block the formation of prostaglandins that cause this sort of symptom. Also, the dark blood is OK--its just a sign that you are losing blood very slowly as opposed to rapidly.

Avatar f tn Some signs that you're experiencing true labor and not Braxton Hicks are contractions every 5 to 10 minutes or less, having more than five contractions in an hour, regular ongoing pain in your back or lower abdomen, pressure in your pelvis or vagina, menstrual or diarrhea-like cramps, bleeding, fluid leak and nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
