meloxicam knee pain

Swelling occured immediately and the bruise is now hear. The pain seemed to go away but recently has return like someone is stabbing my knee in 2 places with a needle. Could I possibly have chipped a bone and that is what I am feeling now?

I have almost every day muscle and joint pain, and I get red spots on my handpalm and under my feet. I get pain on my foot joint, knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist, fingers and jaw. The pain change every day, one day I have pain only on my knee and the other day I have pain on my jaw and wrist. Five years ago I went to the Netherlands to study. In 2004 is when it started, I went to two rheumatologist, but the results show that I don’t have Rheumatoid arthritis.

I've had chest pain on both sides of my chest, just above my sternum for about 2 months. It's recently gotten worse (or perhaps I just feel it more because I'm off opiates now). My doctor said it's Costochondritis and gave me Meloxicam 15mg and said to take one with dinner each day. Does anyone have any experience with Costochondritis and/or Meloxicam?

will it help to wear a brace on that knee? If so what kind should I wear? Regular, hinged, unloader or another kind? There are so many models available. The clinic I went to gave me a hinged knee brace by futuro. I would like something to protect my knee from further injury and keep pain and swelling down. I had one brace before that got real tight when I sat down, I really did not like that. Thanks very much an have a great day!

They said I had flat feet and gave me orthotics. The second orthopedic specialist said I had adolescent anterior knee pain and there was nothing he could do for me. A few weeks ago I went to the rheumatologist and he diagnosed me with bursitis. He started me on some anti-inflamitories but I am still having lots of swelling and tons of pain. Next time I go in he wants to drain my knees and inject some cortisone. Is the swelling likely to come back and will the pain come back?

But, I suspect that it was, since I was perfectly healthy before starting the Meloxicam (with the exception of minor back pain in the morning associated with osteoarthritis). Also, I made an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon after all of my tests came back normal from the Neurologist and Primary Care Physician.

I really hope that the knee issue is due to limping and overexerting the knee, and that the joint pain is due to the anxiety that this situation has caused. I feel great in my overall health except from this. And when I dont think about it, say while talking to a friend, I feel NOTHING at all. Any experiences or tips would be very helpful. Sorry for the long post, I just felt like I had to let it all out...

I HAD A MYELOGRAM TODAY DO U THINK THIS WOULD HELP FIGURE OUT MY PROBLEMS! I ALSO SEE THE PAIN CLINIC FOR PAIN MANAGEMENT! THE MEDICATIONS I CURRENTLY TAKE ARE MELOXICAM, NEURON TIN, AND OXYCONTIN! THE OXYCONTIN WEARS OFF AT ABOUT 8 HOURS BUT I ONLY TAKE THEM EVERY 12 HOURS! CAN SOMEBODY, ANYBODY HELP!

There both opiates, although I do believe the oxycodone is somewhat stronger than codeine. I also have chronic pain in my knee mainly, but also hip and lower back. Over the years Ive taken all different kinds of pain meds which did help with the pain, but really all their doing is masking the pain.

Several weeks ago I fell at work and injured my left knee. I had an X-ray that showed no broken bones and an MRI that showed no tears, but I keep telling the ortho pedic surgeon that I feel something move in my knee, not sure if it's the bone at the top or something else, but I feel it really move when I kneel down. He says it's 2 muscles rubbing together from inflammation and prescribed me meloxicam, but it doesn't feel like that. It feels like something is moving when I kneel.

well the 2nd opinion was both helpful and confusing. helpful because i got another perspective on what my options are. however, the 2nd dr said that after looking at my MRI he sees a medial meniscus tear, when the 1st doctor said there was a lateral tear. so i need to call back the first dr and have him take a 2nd look. somebody has made a mistake. and im not getting "exploratory" surgery on my knee. so im still in pain. no relief.

Hello Flowr, I understand your hesitancy to take Meloxicam. Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and fever reducer effects. It's often used in Arthritic and inflammatory conditions. However any NSAID comes with concerns - including OTC NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen. Several years ago Glucosamine & Chondroitin was popular with medical providers. It was hailed as the new and one of the best "treatments" for restoring cartilage and reducing pain.

I have been clean for 9 days and am in severe pain from cleaning my house. I was afraid to take anything, but found the meloxicam my doctor had prescribed a few months ago. I now feel safe to get relief. Again, thank you.

I was told today by my awesome insurance company that they will not cover Celebrex. I have been on meloxicam for many years. I'm on day 25 norco free and working with my pain management doctor on non narcotic relief. I thought this maybe a good choice but the insurance company disagreed. Any opinions on arthritis relief options. I have liver issues and I'm tested every 6 months. I also have stenosis, 2 bulging discs and one that has been detached.

both ankles, right knee, left ankle, right wrist, lower back, chest, and the most recent is my right hip. After X-rays of nearly every joint, everything has proved non-conclusive. Even the MRI of my hip showed normal findings. About two months ago, I started waking up and to find myself very shaky. Five days ago, everything seemed to have gotten worse and I was not only shaky but also having a hard time breathing, concentrating, and had excruciating pain mainly on my sides.

Mobic is the brand name...Meloxicam is the generic...I take it for my joint pain brought on by TX. Its a prescription only NSAID that is easier on the stomach than Ibu and Naproxen. It helps some. I also use Arnicare (arnica gel)...its homeopathic stuff that I rub on my knee, wrists, etc. I'm not sure about rubbing alcohol thing.

I was just prescribed meloxicam 15mg for arthritis along with prilosec for acid reflux. I was wondering if you could tell me if meloxicam would be better for pain relief compared to 800mg ibuprofen. Also does it take time for meloxicam to build up in my body for maximum benefit? If so, how long does it take? Thanks very much!

Has anyone heard of Meloxicam helping with w/d from opiates, such lortabs? I went to the doctor for some issues that I had been having and decided to reach out to my doctor for help getting off these bad boys. He perscribed Meloxicam to help with some the withdrawal symptons. I have to say this stuff, which is just an anit inflammatory will helps with the symptons. It eleminates the hot, flush feeling which is most annoying. It really does help.

Hi there! I'm a 28 year old male, and I have a question about NSAIDs for chronic pain. I use ibuprofen daily most of the time for a torn meniscus in my left knee that I had surgery on and I have arthritis too. I also take it for a herniated disc (L-5) and ankle pain. I have acid reflux disease and esophagus problems as well. Is it safe to take all this Ibuprofen with the stomach problems I have, or should I talk to my Dr. about possibly prescribing another medication?

I got x-rays and was diagnosed with degenerative arthritis in my big toe joint and on 9-18-13 I started taking Meloxicam (Mobic). The 1st two nights of taking Meloxicam I felt achey at night and had a fever of about 100- 101. That went away for a while, but then started happening again now every night from about 10-1-13 to now 10-11-13. I get a slight fever at night (100-101) and sweat bad all night long. Bad enough to where the sheets are wet. I usually lose about 3 - 3 1/2 lbs.

I have seen 2 specialists and have had 2 lots of steroid injections in both knees and one steroid injection in my right hip. I have been taking Meloxicam and painkillers. Today I have been to see a specialist with the view to having knee replacement surgery. After looking at my recent x rays he has informed me that I have Avascular Necrosis in both knees. My left knee joint has collapsed and the right one is heading for collapse. Can you tell me if Avascular Necrosis is a form of Arthritis?

You may want to try laying on your back preferable on your bed. Bring one knee at a time to your chest. If there is pain back off a little. Hold the knee to your chest or where its comfortable for 20 seconds then repeat with the other leg. You need to stretch that lower back and over time this should help a lot you have a nerve issue going on this is obvious.
