The pain change every day, one day I have pain only on my knee and the other day I have pain on my jaw and wrist. Five years ago I went to the Netherlands to study. In 2004 is when it started, I went to two rheumatologist, but the results show that I don’t have Rheumatoid arthritis.

Avatar m tn will it help to wear a brace on that knee? If so what kind should I wear? Regular, hinged, unloader or another kind? There are so many models available. The clinic I went to gave me a hinged knee brace by futuro. I would like something to protect my knee from further injury and keep pain and swelling down. I had one brace before that got real tight when I sat down, I really did not like that. Thanks very much an have a great day!
1308443 tn?1302693321 I'm 16 and for 3 years now I have had knee problems. I have had x-rays, 2 MRI's and 2 sets of blood tests. I have seen my doctor, 2 orthopedic specialists, and a rheumatologist. I went to physical therapy for a few months 2 years ago. They said I had flat feet and gave me orthotics. The second orthopedic specialist said I had adolescent anterior knee pain and there was nothing he could do for me. A few weeks ago I went to the rheumatologist and he diagnosed me with bursitis.
Avatar n tn My dr prescribed me 15 mg of Meloxicam per day but said I could just take it as needed for my knee. I took it once the first week and the next day when I woke up I noticed my legs were so weak and sore I could barely walk. Almost like I had an intense leg day at the gym. I figured I just needed to get up and get moving around but my legs felt like that all day. I didn't equate this episode with the Meloxicam. However, last night I took one to help my knee.
Avatar m tn I was sent on Meloxicam and low impact for 3 weeks, but I am still having my knee, fingers etc bothering me. I dont know if my mind is so powerful that it can dictate the pain in my joints. I really hope that the knee issue is due to limping and overexerting the knee, and that the joint pain is due to the anxiety that this situation has caused. I feel great in my overall health except from this. And when I dont think about it, say while talking to a friend, I feel NOTHING at all.
Avatar f tn I HAD A MYELOGRAM TODAY DO U THINK THIS WOULD HELP FIGURE OUT MY PROBLEMS! I ALSO SEE THE PAIN CLINIC FOR PAIN MANAGEMENT! Avatar n tn After two years of physio, orthotics, acupuncture and seeing ostiopaths, I began to also get pain in my elbow and knees. I have been tested for RA, lupus and gout. All have been negative. My doctor has had me on a trial perscription of pms-meloxicam, having already tried celebrex and naproxin. The meloxicam has been excellent for my feet and elbow but over the past two weeks my knee has taken a turn for the worse.
Avatar m tn It is now almost January (7 months ) later and we are still dealing with this with NO answers. She is on Meloxicam daily to manage the pain. She will have a good two or three weeks then a bad few days then the cycle repeats itself. She had strep throat Nov 16 which she took all the medicine and the symptoms went away. I had to rush her to the er Sunday night because all of a sudden her head felt like it was being squeezed and she was being stabbed in the ears.

Avatar f tn Several weeks ago I fell at work and injured my left knee. I had an X-ray that showed no broken bones and an MRI that showed no tears, but I keep telling the ortho pedic surgeon that I feel something move in my knee, not sure if it's the bone at the top or something else, but I feel it really move when I kneel down. He says it's 2 muscles rubbing together from inflammation and prescribed me meloxicam, but it doesn't feel like that. It feels like something is moving when I kneel.
Avatar m tn But an analysis of studies looking at glucosamine or chondroitin for osteoarthritis in the hip or knee did not show that these supplements slow joint destruction or relieve pain. It's kind of gone by the wayside. It was found to not be the wonder supplement it was once thought to be. Multiple studies revealed that they will not help you more than a placebo. However there are still ppl that swear they help them.
175688 tn?1297556647 prescribed Meloxicam. No, it doesn`t get you high but it does relieve the pain. It`s nearly impossible nowadays for a doctor to prescribe opiates such as Vicodin, and if they do prescribe it, they only prescribe a few, like 10-20. The Pharmaceutical companies are gradually switching over to these non-addictive drugs. I bet in 10 years, there will be no Vicodin, but I could be wrong. They are coming out now with pain medication that is non-addictive, even for severe pain.
Avatar m tn I was told today by my awesome insurance company that they will not cover Celebrex. I have been on meloxicam for many years. I'm on day 25 norco free and working with my pain management doctor on non narcotic relief. I thought this maybe a good choice but the insurance company disagreed. Any opinions on arthritis relief options. I have liver issues and I'm tested every 6 months. I also have stenosis, 2 bulging discs and one that has been detached.
Avatar n tn I have tried both - and sometimes I make the mistake of taking an ibuprofen after taking 1 meloxipam because I'm so desperate for the pain to go away and sometimes neither medication works as well as it should. The ibuprofen works just a little bit, but wears off after 4 hours or so. But if I were to compare both - it's about the same. I prever the ibuprofen only because you can take it whenever the pain seems bad enough. With Meloxipam, you only take 1/day.
Avatar f tn All of these findings did not raise too much alarm for my doctors and despite a prescription of Meloxicam 15mg, and Baclofen 10mg, I have shown little to no improvement. I'm in constant pain. My social life and work is suffering tremendously so I'm reaching out hoping to find some answers from somebody to get better.
1044813 tn?1370494406 Thanks for the suggestion, and we will certainly look into adding that.
3122657 tn?1357432602 Mobic is the brand name...Meloxicam is the generic...I take it for my joint pain brought on by TX. Its a prescription only NSAID that is easier on the stomach than Ibu and Naproxen. It helps some. I also use Arnicare (arnica gel)...its homeopathic stuff that I rub on my knee, wrists, etc. I'm not sure about rubbing alcohol thing.
Avatar m tn I was just prescribed meloxicam 15mg for arthritis along with prilosec for acid reflux. I was wondering if you could tell me if meloxicam would be better for pain relief compared to 800mg ibuprofen. Also does it take time for meloxicam to build up in my body for maximum benefit? If so, how long does it take? Thanks very much!
Avatar f tn I went to the doctor for some issues that I had been having and decided to reach out to my doctor for help getting off these bad boys. He perscribed Meloxicam to help with some the withdrawal symptons. I have to say this stuff, which is just an anit inflammatory will helps with the symptons. It eleminates the hot, flush feeling which is most annoying. It really does help. Just wondering if it's all in my head or has anyone actually heard of this? Thanks.
Avatar f tn Have you tried antiinflammatories for regular pain and toradol for bad pain? Many of the medication they prescribe for fibromyalgia is non narcotic , but I can't recall the names off hand. I know many are on nuerotin for pain, but not sure it thats addicting. I know I was not much help, but wanted to tap in to say CONGRATS on all those clean years. Hope you get some long term relief.
Avatar m tn Hi there! I'm a 28 year old male, and I have a question about NSAIDs for chronic pain. I use ibuprofen daily most of the time for a torn meniscus in my left knee that I had surgery on and I have arthritis too. I also take it for a herniated disc (L-5) and ankle pain. I have acid reflux disease and esophagus problems as well. Is it safe to take all this Ibuprofen with the stomach problems I have, or should I talk to my Dr. about possibly prescribing another medication?
Avatar m tn I am on 10mg vicodin twice a day for the pain in my foot. actually the pain is in my ankle probably from correcting my walk from the toe joint. Been on that for about 4 weeks. fevers/ sweating didn't seem to start til couple weeks after being on vicodin Klonopin was .5 mg twice a day. Dr recommended .5 mg once a day for 10 days ending 10-16-13, then .25 mg for 10 days then .25 mg every other day for 10 days, then he said I should be done. I will take your advise and schedule an appt.
Avatar m tn I am in a lot of back and joint pain. I am going to see my pain management doctor today. I take meloxicam for arthritis and I think I'm going to ask for a change. I have been told that Celebrex and Indomethacin is a good non narcotic combination. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
