mobic for knee pain

Mobic is the brand name...Meloxicam is the generic...I take it for my joint pain brought on by TX. Its a prescription only NSAID that is easier on the stomach than Ibu and Naproxen. It helps some. I also use Arnicare (arnica gel)...its homeopathic stuff that I rub on my knee, wrists, etc. I'm not sure about rubbing alcohol thing.

I have been completely off Oxys for about a week and never did have really bad withdrawals. But the PAIN in my knee and back is devastating. I can hardly take care of myself it hurts so bad. Simple thinks like showers or getting down stairs are very hard. I don't know what is going to happen at this appointment but I do NOT want to live in this kind of pain.

Thanks for responding. I have been put on Mobic for a knee problem, which has now resolved. I hoping that my pain Dr. will agree to let me stop the narcotic pain meds and try to use the Mobic and epidurals. I really don't know what is worse-the steroids in the epidurals or staying on Percocet. It would be OK if I really felt it was helping, but I don't. I had a sciatica flare up about 3 months ago, and had to go on Oxycontin 20mg for a few weeks.

The doctor said nothing to worry about, RA was negative but the ANA was positive. I take Exforge for HBP. I take Vicodin for the pain but does not work and Mobic does not seem to work either. Any ideas?

Is there anything I can do about my pain throughout my knee? I understand how to treat tendinitis, of which nothing works for me, but my knees are hurting other places as well that are hard to pinpoint. It feels rather as if it's all over. Right now I'm taking mobic as an antiamflammatory for the tendinitis and ice them all the time.

Hi hoping you are still on this blog because I'm losing my mind with same! My right knee has been 4 times the SZ of my left for 4 months now and i don't know what to do ( either does my dr) it does hurt when I put any pressure on it and it does hurt with certain movements.. I do have a bakers cyst behind this same knee that also is constantly flared up but apparently should not be causing the top of the knee to swell up ( no recent injuries) or knee injuries ever..

I am taking Levothyroxin 50 mcg and Mobic for inflamation. My THS ( I think) was 17 the first time I had it checked. I do not know what is is now but as of February it was within the normal range. What exaclty is my swelling and joint pain related to?

I can't bend without pain in my left knee and MRI stated that I had loculated fluid collection posterior and superior in the knee measuring approximately 4.2cm in medial-to-lateral dimension and 2.0cm in craniocauded dimension.. All non aggressive with multiple thin septations but no extension into the bone or muscles possibly representing a large soft tissue GANGLION or LOCULATED EFFUSION.

Anyways when you said leg pain, it just clicked for because my friend has very bad pain in his knee and other parts of his leg from surgery and avascular necrosis of the hip. i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.

I had left knee pain for 3 weeks, limped around til I saw an ortho knee guy that I worked with. He had me get an MRI, which showed DJD. TWO days after the MRI I injured it just geting into my car, as I lefted and pulled up and to the right I heard a LOUD POP! Pain to follow was excruciating. I could NOT weight bear for a few days. I've taken Mobic and Hydrosil as prescribed by my doctor because of my right knee discomfort last month. I immediately stop taken it after my right foot started to numb and tingling the next day. The problem still exist and it has been one month already. Why is it like this? Also, I've been taking Vitamin B complex supplement from that day onwards and it seems not working until today.

I've had chest pain on both sides of my chest, just above my sternum for about 2 months. It's recently gotten worse (or perhaps I just feel it more because I'm off opiates now). My doctor said it's Costochondritis and gave me Meloxicam 15mg and said to take one with dinner each day. Does anyone have any experience with Costochondritis and/or Meloxicam?

I am 39, for the last year I have had joint pain in my hands/wrists, knees, hips ,ankles, sometimes back . hand and knee pain are constant and are the same on either side of my body, but vary at times (worse before periods, with bad weather, cold weather, after exercise). I have seen my PCP and a rheumatologist who did blood work -all normal, RH neg, neg C reactive, normal sed rate/cbc,thyroid.

ve had it in my left knee for over 2 years now and i want it gone. The doctor referred me to go to the physio, which i did for a while. He would massage my calf muscles and told me to do yoga to loosen my hip and calf muscles. I stopped going to him only because he said the yoga was the only thing that could help it. I have been doing yoga now for almost 2 years and there has been no improvement in the slightest!

Have you tried antiinflammatories for regular pain and toradol for bad pain? Many of the medication they prescribe for fibromyalgia is non narcotic , but I can't recall the names off hand. I know many are on nuerotin for pain, but not sure it thats addicting. I know I was not much help, but wanted to tap in to say CONGRATS on all those clean years. Hope you get some long term relief.

My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. At the age of 33, one day I was fine, healthy etc. Went to bed and the next morning woke up with excruciating pain deep inside my r/knee area. Couldn't get out of bed or walk. That was the start of my (disease)? Went to an orthopedist. Got cortisone injection, gave me anti-inflammatories, sent me home told me to rest. Pain never went away, but it subsided a bit. Pain flared up again after about a month, ortho referred me to rheumatologist. More anit-inflammatories for a while.

Now 6 weeks after injury I am still unable to walk properly , every step involving pain , pain that seems to be transmitting across the patella . I went to an orthopedic doctor that recommended joint movement as much as possible to avoid subpatelar tendon stiffness but after reading the MRI, he became more reserved telling me only me to wait another month to see improvements .

And when this happens, I get off of everything except for the oxycodone as needed, one of the anti-inflammatory pills, and one of the muscle relaxers, as well as some furosemide 40 (water pills) along with potassium20MEQ. Throughout all this I have excruciating pain between my hip and knee down my leg on the left side mostly. And both legs constantly fall asleep on me a lot.

My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
