prescribed Meloxicam. No, it doesn`t get you high but it does relieve the pain. It`s nearly impossible nowadays for a doctor to prescribe opiates such as Vicodin, and if they do prescribe it, they only prescribe a few, like 10-20. The Pharmaceutical companies are gradually switching over to these non-addictive drugs. I bet in 10 years, there will be no Vicodin, but I could be wrong. They are coming out now with pain medication that is non-addictive, even for severe pain.

It is now almost January (7 months ) later and we are still dealing with this with NO answers. She is on Meloxicam daily to manage the pain. She will have a good two or three weeks then a bad few days then the cycle repeats itself. She had strep throat Nov 16 which she took all the medicine and the symptoms went away. I had to rush her to the er Sunday night because all of a sudden her head felt like it was being squeezed and she was being stabbed in the ears.

ve been taking Meloxicam for my costochondritis for about a month and felt much better. I quit taking it and had a flare up and am now back on it. I hope it works. I just don't want to be on it too long term.

I have tried both - and sometimes I make the mistake of taking an ibuprofen after taking 1 meloxipam because I'm so desperate for the pain to go away and sometimes neither medication works as well as it should. The ibuprofen works just a little bit, but wears off after 4 hours or so. But if I were to compare both - it's about the same. I prever the ibuprofen only because you can take it whenever the pain seems bad enough. With Meloxipam, you only take 1/day.

I was just prescribed meloxicam 15mg for arthritis along with prilosec for acid reflux. I was wondering if you could tell me if meloxicam would be better for pain relief compared to 800mg ibuprofen. Also does it take time for meloxicam to build up in my body for maximum benefit? If so, how long does it take? Thanks very much!

I went to the doctor for some issues that I had been having and decided to reach out to my doctor for help getting off these bad boys. He perscribed Meloxicam to help with some the withdrawal symptons. I have to say this stuff, which is just an anit inflammatory will helps with the symptons. It eleminates the hot, flush feeling which is most annoying. It really does help. Just wondering if it's all in my head or has anyone actually heard of this? Thanks.

It all started when I got a neck spasm and desperate to try anything I went to a chiropractor to get my neck fixed seeing as I didn't know what my problem was I just had bad pain. Now I am experiencing weird neurological symptoms a whole month after almost and im freaking out.

My life is literally being destroyed because I took One Pill a day for chest pain for a Week. Every Week it now gets worse symptoms. It's gotten so that I dread even imagining what next week will bring.

I am on 10mg vicodin twice a day for the pain in my foot. actually the pain is in my ankle probably from correcting my walk from the toe joint. Been on that for about 4 weeks. fevers/ sweating didn't seem to start til couple weeks after being on vicodin Klonopin was .5 mg twice a day. Dr recommended .5 mg once a day for 10 days ending 10-16-13, then .25 mg for 10 days then .25 mg every other day for 10 days, then he said I should be done. I will take your advise and schedule an appt.

if your having pain in your neck/back/knee you should request a CT scan/with contrast for all 3 if your dr. asks why say as a pre-caution you want to rule out a slipped discs or any spinal stenosis etc. again if he says why? tell him you played sports etc in HS etc. etc. Then you should get a refferal to pain management and see if you can get either cortisone shot or trigger point injections etc.

for restless legs, try stretching your hamstrings for a few minutes several times a day, esp before bed. otherwise, try a nsaid like meloxicam for the other symptoms in case of swelling around irritated nerve roots in your neck and back. Your doctor may be able to give you a free sample of a meloxicam, a Celebrex...assuming you've already tried all the weak over-the-counter stuff.

Is it possible that Meloxicam could have eased my depression? I was on Meloxicam for a couple of weeks (for back pain) and noticed a huge improvement in my mood. Was this just a coincidence?

I decided to try eccentric strength trainiing as it worked for my hamstring tendon. and its known for achiles tendon. Its been about 3-4 days and i already feel much much better. anyone else had similar issues/advice on this topic?

I have severe pain and numbness in entire left arm elbow and right shoulder mass contusion with severe pain when pressing. Also, TMJ, buldging lumbar and severe spinal trauma resulting in intense constant pain in neck back shoulders throat ect. Certain contact triggers total loss of feeling with my left arm. I take flexoril 10 meloxicam 15 oxycodone15 morphine 30 xanxax 1mg I know i have many concerns as far as meds long term ect.

sorry to hear of your daily pain ordeal, I can relate. I have found (for me) that Meloxicam (as needed) is effective for taking the biting edge off of the pain. I have it in two strengths, 7.5 and 15 mg. It does not erase the pain, but it does take enough of the edge off for me to get through. Make sure to take this on a full tummy...it can upset the stomach. I hope this info helps....I tried a litany of meds (topomax included) and this one seems to help me right now.

I take 15 mg of the Meloxicam in the morning for pain but need additional pain relief later in the day and I know that both drugs are NSAID so I don't want to accidentally overdose.

So I was just prescribed 3 meds to start. One is Meloxicam for my joints. This one is the one I am most uncomfortable with because I had never heard of it. I have ulcerative colitis for a few years, I been in hospital a couple of times but the last time i was in it was due to the pain killing drug meloxicam for joint pain. I am almost sure celelbrex is in the same family, so to speak, as meloxicam.. I ended up losing the lining of my stomach. I had had a problem with anti flams for a while and i new i couldnt take celebrex as i had terrible cramps in my stomach.

Welcome back dude. I have been on every NSAID imaginable...including Meloxicam for chronic pain. I have come full circle after a few years to Ibuprofen 800 mg 3x/dy but MUST take Prevacid daily to prevent ulcers. You have been thru the mill hon. Have you taken a Prevacid or any like med while on NSAID's? I hate to see you back on pain meds when you have fought so hard.
