Medroxyprogesterone dosage

Common Questions and Answers about Medroxyprogesterone dosage

Avatar f tn I am 63 years old and 8 Years ago I stopped having periods and haven't had any problems with hot flashes or anything that goes along with menopause. I have never taken any hormones, but just this week my GYN prescrivbed Medroxyprogesterone 2.5 mgs to help keep something "down there" (uterus, endometrium???) from thickening. Do you know how much this would raise my chances of getting breast cancer?
Avatar f tn Then re-prescribed the medroxyprogesterone and Clomid. Upping the dose to a double dosage. Well it's now Oct 27 and I finished the 12 day cycle of medicine about 10 days ago. And I still have not started my period. The problem I am having is.... I had tender breasts for about two weeks starting Sept 19 and then vomiting started occurring fairly often. Last Thursday I was having what felt like horrible cramps but no bleeding. Although Wednesday I had light spotting when I woke up.
Avatar n tn Hi!! I almost always have to take Provera/Medroxyprogesterone in pill form. I believe you can take one twice daily for 5 days or take 1 daily for 10 days. I almost always prefer it twice daily so the period comes sooner. After having the last dosage of it you shall have your period anywhere from 7-10 days. I start around 7 myself. Everyone is different. This med is a hormone so, be aware of the PMS symptoms. They are a typical symptom and make you moody sometimes.
135691 tn?1271100723 I've been reading quite a bit lately about avoiding Estrogen replacement therapy while undergoing chemo, mainly Taxol. I was prescribed Premarin, at the highest dosage, all throughout my treatment and no one seemed concerned. What is the reason for not using ERT during chemo? Have you heard of this before?
Avatar n tn Since anovulation cycles have an unpredictable length, a menstrual flow may need to be caused by administering medroxyprogesterone acetate (Provera). One then adjusts the clomiphene dosage in the next cycle. Keywords: clomiphene This information is provided for education purposes and is not a medical consultation. 622208 tn?1222549040 That is the reason you're taking it. What dosage are you on? I think, b/c you said it's a 10 day rx, that it's a higher dosage to get you going. I hope that helps.
Avatar n tn 5 of the medroxyprogesterone (Provera) with no break at the end of each month. Within two weeks, I began experiencing slight chest and left arm ache, but ignored them since there is no history in my family of heart problems and the symptoms only lasted about a half-minute. Over the two weeks, the symptoms gradually increased in frequency and duration until, on the evening of June 13, I had my first rapid heart incident which lasted for about two hours.
Avatar n tn But I was not pregnant that month(Sep 2006), then our next cycle she increased the clomid dosage to 100mg. I still had one mature follicle(24.5mm). I had my IUI done in that cycle. First week after the IUI, the progestrone level was 21.5 and my estrogen level was 200. But still no luck. I am having 30 day cycle now that I started taking Clomid. I use to have irregular periods before that. I got my last period on Nov 10th, and I started taking Clomid from Day 4.

Also our body stores extra thyroid hormone in other parts of the body, that the body needs to and does get ride of. So you might see this reflected in your Labs. For most this takes a couple of weeks, that is why it is suggested to watch out for thyroid storm especially for us hypers.

Avatar n tn Sorry for this being so long, heres my question. Do you think my dermatologist was wrong with his dosage and duration considering i was completely clear after one week and being that my condition was extremely mild? I feel like i was terribly mistreated and i feel awful about it.
Avatar n tn , progesterone, hydroxyprogesterone caroate, medroxyprogesterone acetate), a statin (e.g. Simvastatin, Atorvastatin), and an antidiabetic agent (e.g., Rosiglitazone). In an embodiment, the antidiabetic agent includes Rosiglitazone, and culturing the second-pass cells includes culturing the second-pass cells in a culture medium including Rosiglitazone.
Avatar n tn I will tell you what helped me since my body couldn't tolerate the Lupron well. A low dosage of birth control pills taken for at least 6 months - to a year should help stop the growth of the endo. Also, diet and exercise can be extremely helpful. Watch your intake of processed foods, drink pure filtered water, start taking Omega-3 oils, fish oil, primrose oil (I found it to be very helpful) and limit your alcohol consumption.
280700 tn?1210287416 Hello! I am also starting my second round of clomid 100mg this month, last month was 50mg. I had 2 m/c in 2007 & they believe it was due to low levels of pregesterone so I'm taking clomid to help. Is anyone else in the same boat? I'm on D6 right now & taking on D5-9. It didn't work last month so really hoping for the best this month.
Avatar n tn The old gynecologist I went to years ago, put me on medroxyprogesterone, apparently I had been prescribed to high a dosage which caused me to faint, and I do not care to try it again. Yet this put aside, I know many other people on this medroxyprogesterone prescription and it does works wonders for them.
Avatar n tn I've also been on the mini-pill and Provera, and both of them contained norethisterone/norethinderone acetate and medroxyprogesterone acetate, which were HORRID progesterones...they made me gain 10 lbs, my boobs were constantly sore, I felt depressed, etc. But not with Yaz! Maybe younger women should wait until they hit perimenopause to go on the pill. In any event, Yaz has been a total blessing in every way.
