Avatar m tn Welcome to the forum......I have a wonderful Holistic Vet who always chooses natural/herbal or Chinese Medicine as his first line of defense....However, for controlling pain, he always reaches for traditional/Standard Western Anti-inflammatories & Pain killers/ medicine....He is very strict when it comes to pain control..... That said, your only line of defense would be pain management from your Vet!! They DO work the best....Certainly in a Cancer Patient....
Avatar n tn Lobular means that the abnormal cells start growing in the lobules, the milk-producing glands at the end of breast ducts. Carcinoma refers to any cancer that begins in the skin or other tissues that cover internal organs — such as breast tissue. In situ or “in its original place” means that the abnormal growth remains inside the lobule and does not spread to surrounding tissues. People diagnosed with LCIS tend to have more than one lobule affected.
Avatar f tn I don't want to scare you,but I want to warn you that go for the further test. My sister is dignosed with Microcalcification and some discharge from her right breast(Breast Cancer) and Mastectomy has performend ASAP. Since you have a family history of Breast Cancer, don't take it easy and also don't be panic. In my family we don't have a family history of breast cancer and also she is very young. She is just36 years old and a mother of 6yrs and 2yrs old kids.

936688 tn?1244886849 A newer treatment that my mother-in-law just got - for bone pain from stage IV breast cancer metastisized to the bone - is bone cementing. I think it is called osteoplasty, but is named for the area - like vertebreplasty (spelling?). It is an outpatient procedure, where the doctor injects bone cement into the sacrum to fill the lesions from the cancer. It is done after the radiation has reduced the size of the tumors.
Avatar f tn Hi, Atypical Hyperplasia is a precancerous condition that affects cells in the breast. It describes an accumulation of abnormal cells in a breast duct. This condition isn't cancer, but it can be a forerunner to the development of breast cancer. Over the course of your lifetime, if the atypical hyperplasia cells keep dividing and become more abnormal, your condition may be reclassified as carcinoma in SITU or noninvasive breast cancer.
Avatar n tn HI, Navelbine has been shown to be helpful in the control of metastatic breast cancer. It is also often used with Herceptin therapy. Control is the goal when breast cancer has spread to other parts of the body. Navelbine therapy is usually well tolerated but as with any medication, there are some side effects. Fatigue is pretty much a constant problem with any form of Chemotherapy. Perhaps the pain situation can be addressed further with the Oncologist and better pain control achieved.
Avatar f tn A woman with ADH as well as other risk factors may have a risk that is high enough to consider medications. The medications currently FDA approved as chemoprevention for breast cancer are tamoxifen and raloxifene. Decisions to use a medication as chemoprevention would be made based on weighing the risks and benefits to the individual patient.
Avatar f tn In 2006 I had a phyloties tumor taken out of my left breast and I also have a clip in both of my breast so they can see....whatever it is and not mistake it for something else. I am worried sick! The nurse told me that they have a lot of "call backs" so not to worry esentially. I feel like I am having a terrible nightmare and everytime I think it will get better something else happens. I have never had dense breast findings before and I have large fatty breast.

Avatar n tn My mother age 54 was diagonised with breast cancer T2N1M0 IDC GRADE 3 triple negative in october 2006, lupectomy was performed and after 55 days (because she had developed a severe infection in the breast) chemotherapy was given 3 cycles FEC and three cycles Docetere, she than had undergone radiation therapy.
Avatar f tn I’m a 19yr old female. I’ve been experiencing pain in my right breast. Feels like it might be coming from the right side? But I can’t exactly pin point the exact location. It’s like a sharp burning pain that comes and goes every few seconds. I’m not pregnant, period isn’t due for 3 weeks ish. It definitely is a noticeable pain though. I haven’t felt any lumps but I also don’t know exactly how to check. Any thoughts?
Avatar n tn These medications increase prolactin levels in the body. There is also certain life periods when a person is more likely to get discharge than others: there may be more discharge at puberty and at menopause than the years in-between. The time to worry about nipple discharge is when it’s spontaneous (comes out by itself without squeezing), keeps on happening, and is only on one side; if it is clear and sticky, like an egg white, or bloody.
Avatar n tn I am a 69 year old woman with no history of breast cancer. However, I have had benign calcifications and a lump removed in the past from my right breast. I am no longer taking hormone replacement which has resulted in my breasts becoming less dense and easier to palpitate for lumps. I have recently noticed that my right nipple has been itching and now a darkened, rough to the touch, wart like growth has appeared on my nipple. I am due for a mammogram next month.
Avatar n tn I have been researching on a new type of breast cancer called Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC Inflammatory). If your sister has breast cancer you may want to get checked, just in case. You can go to youtube.com and type in IBC inflammatory and watch the video on this and go to ibcresearch.org and read about this type of breast cancer, because it is sometimes not seen in a mammogram or and in most cases you will not have a lump.
624160 tn?1224082480 If breast cancer runs in the family, breast cancer screening should be started 10 years earlier from the age of the first degree relative diagnosed with breast cancer. About 10% of breast cancer is hereditary. The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) data showed that the incidence of breast cancer is about 1.9% in the age group of 20 to 34 years in 2001-2005. I agree with your decision to have the lump examined by your doctor.
