Avatar m tn Though all these would add to the fluid intake, restriction of fluid intake is not advised with osteoporosis, especially if one is on calcium supplements/ medications and rather slightly increase fluid intake is advised to prevent side effects related to the GI. Hope the information is helpful. Take care!
Avatar f tn Did you call your primary doc or your obgyn? Obgyn knows what categories medications fall into and if they are safe. I was prescribed amoxicillin for my sinus infection and told no OTC meds except baby Tyenol and saline spray if needed. But med recs seem to vary from doc to doc. You can always look up the mess safety categories yourself.
Avatar f tn s a nurse with their masters. I prefer and midwife to ob. Went to an ob the first few months of my pregnancy with my son and hated it and found my midwife. Love her!
382218 tn?1341181487 Unfortunately because of the rules in this forum I cannot comment on all the off-label medications which we use, but suffice it to say there are many more and they usually fall under the categories of anti-seizure medications and antidepressants. I do not use cannibinoids, nor do I personally recommend them. As one patient in rural Pennsylvani said very correctly: "MS is a disease that affects the brain, so why would you want to take a medications that affects your brain?

Avatar f tn I took amoxicillin for a UTI in the beginning of my pregnancy. As long as your doctor is okay with it and prescribes it for you, you should be fine.

779901 tn?1236100609 anti-depressants; seizure medication; beta-blockers (blood-pressure medication). Within those categories there are quite a lot of different medications to try... it is a trial and error process to figure out which one will be right for you. There are also other treatments such as botox (injections in trigger point areas) and if botox works for you then there is also surgical treatment where they can cut the muscles/nerves that are bothering you.
Avatar f tn I do not believe in taking anything while pregnant even if the doctor says its safe. I am almost 28 weeks and I cracked my tooth months ago by eating a chip, lately its getting to the point where I'm in sooo much pain its shooting pain from my tooth into my temple. it was on the news that Tylenol causes ADHD when taken while pregnant.
4658567 tn?1364142123 **** I typed a whole thing and deleted it..... A midwife told me merlot has a lot of ingredients that are great for baby my doc said a couple a week is ok .... Like ktowne said moderation is key ... And no a glass has NEVER been proven to cause fetal alcohol syndrome, it's " inhumane" to test anything on an expectant mom so nothing has been tested.
Avatar f tn Fainting or syncope can be caused by dehydration, medications, diabetes, pregnancy, anemia, heart conditions, age etc Dysthymic disorder, is a mild but chronic type of depression but its your ocular pain (left eye) and persistent degrading vision in the same eye that imho is a heads up to the potential of something like optic neuropathy or an ocular disorder especially retinal disease and may be the clue to working this out for you.
Avatar f tn I've just read some posts where that's happened. I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy, and I'm worried. I just wondered if anyone else had taken these two at the same time while pregnant.
Avatar f tn I had a bad cold where I would be coughing up phlem for about 3 weeks. I didn't want to take any medications so my boyfriend would make me natural teas and home remedies for me to get better which would consist of lemon, honey, chayanne pepper, and garlic. Not the best taste but I did get better.

768044 tn?1294223436 but, instead of having to add every preventative treatment out there every time a medhelp user starts taking a new one, I thought it would be useful if you just added the 4 main basic categories of preventative/prophylactic treatments to the migraine tracker treatments section.
Avatar f tn We do have some general categories of medications, such as anti-anxiety meds in the Mood Tracker. However, we would rather not add a generic anti-depressant category since it makes more sense to track the actual anti-depressant medication you're using. Otherwise, users may just all select that category and then no one one would be able to learn from other trackers what works and what doesn't work. We'll add Luvox to the Mood Tracker for you and let you know when it's available.
Avatar f tn While there is no guarantee with ANY med or substance during pregnancy, there are pregnancy risk categories when it comes to medications, and Klonopin is a pregnancy risk "D", which is quite significant on the scale (second highest risk level). That means there is a significant risk and adverse outcomes HAVE been reported. There would actually be more optimal med choices for you if you're pregnant. that's something you would have to carefully discuss with your OB.
Avatar f tn I believe I read somewhere but dont quote me prozac and wellbutrin are ok during pregnancy as are other SSRIs, TCAs like Tofranil and pamelor are considered safe to use during pregnancy. I am sure your doctor can share better insight.
Avatar f tn Have you had a conversation with your healthcare provider about withdrawing from these medications? Can you share a little bit more about your concerns being able to get your medications?
Avatar f tn I got an email saying the question I participated in has been moved from the pregnancy 25-34 forum to the pregnancy social forum. Why did they move it?
