Avatar f tn what causes v-tach? how does someone know the have this? can it lead to a dangerous arrythmia?
86819 tn?1378947492 I suffered from a-fib, a-flutter, and occasional sustained V-tach. I did wear a medical alert bracelet. That was one of the first things my EP told me to do, was to go out and get one. My condition was on the bracelet, along with my meds. I think it is a good idea to have one, especially if you are on any kind of blood thinner meds.
Avatar n tn I think v-tach can be controlled to some degree with the proper medications and a pacemaker or ICD.
Avatar n tn Hey,I was curious about the meds your taking..Amiodarone?I have a feeling there could be a good chance my new cardio will put me on that for my v tach..What are its side affects?I heard something about being in the sun and your skin turns kinda blue??
Avatar m tn When a person is in v-tach and the v-tach degenerates into v-fib, is the transition abrupt (like the transition from normal sinus rhythm to v-tach) or is it gradual? By gradual, I mean the v-tach becomes progressively finer and faster until eventually it can no longer be defined as v-tach. I have looked for these stats everywhere but I can't find much of value.
Avatar f tn I also have non-sustained v-tach, which is where the v-tach lasts for less than 30 seconds. I have had this for about 3 years now and I am constantly in a state of panic. Like you, they also did all the tests and said I was fine and not to worry, but I can't help myself, I'm afraid that I'm gonna pass out and not wake up!! I hope that you can get some answers, but remember that we are here for you!! How long did your v-tach last?
Avatar m tn I am curious how you are able to determine with certainty that he was having an Atrial Tach vs. V-Tach? It is quite possible to have V-Tach with rates as high as 250...I know this to be true because I had it happen to me on more than 1 occasion that required shocks.
Avatar m tn I get runs of slow v-tach in the 150 range that last for up to 2 hrs my pulse gets very weak. For me the feeling is in my chest it feels like 3 pvcs per second for as long as it lasts, It makes me very ill. I think they call slow v-tach , v-tach with a pulse not real sure about that.
Avatar m tn if you feel that you may be having this,I would deff let your doctor know..but some advise lol...dont go in saying your having V tach or nsvt..I did that and well it took a few years to be diagnosed!I wish you luck!Either way Im living proof you can have nsvt and be ok!
Avatar m tn Had halter monitoring done and a 7 beat run of v-tach was noticed by my doc. Is doing an ep study this Wednesday and wanted to know if a 7 beat run of v-tach is considered long.
Avatar m tn anyone theres tons of people on here taking meds for these probs..
Avatar n tn Has anyone seen a v-tach rhythm at a rate of 243, or anything above 220, and if so, do you have any strips you can share with me.
Avatar n tn Stress is definitely a trigger. So are fatigue, caffeine, certain cold medications, exercise, heat, . . . you get the idea. For some people just bending over will set it off. One of my triggers is eating too fast. Hopefully this will be a one time event for you. If it continues to happen more frequently or you become symptomatic (dizzy, fainting, chest pains, longer episodes) do check in with your doctor.
1101325 tn?1321253073 t truly deserted you but rather may not be sure what they can do to help and maybe even fear making things worse for you. I also slightly wonder if maybe you have cut yourself off a bit from them, for fear yourself. Maybe fear of not wanting to hurt them if they lost you or fear of not being able to give or participate in the relationships like before because you are having energy issues. Or quite frankly the overwhelming nature of what you are dealing with has caused you to shut off a bit.
Avatar f tn t be good, lol. Dr. said that I was having runs of V-tach everyday and he wanted to expedite the ICD plans. I have been hopeful that aggressive med diet would increase EF. He humored me and said to have MUGA on wed and if Ef is under 35, no if's about it. So.... Oh, back to your question, if this helps. When I spoke to his office to set up MUGA, his assistant said that if company (cardio-net) contacted me, they probably had my # down as contact, rather than Dr's office.
Avatar n tn But having a wide complex does not mean that you necessarily have V-tach, even if your wide complex appears regular. Even if you do have V-tach, it does not mean you are necessarily in danger. If you have wide complex, an electrophysiologist has to look at your ECG to interpret whether you might have v-tach or something else. A doctor also need to help you decide how to handle this.
638662 tn?1223044308 I had a-fib and a-flutter since 2004. Last year I developed episodes of V-tach ( 5 of mine were captured on an event monitor). In January I had an ablation for both the a-fib and flutter. Since my ablation I've had no a-fib, no a-flutter and no v-tach. My EP and the EP that did my ablation do not know why I suddenly started going into v-tach.
525600 tn?1213028848 They gave me klonezepam and cardizem for some sinus tach (due to anxiety) well the palps got worse and so one more monitor try. They found a 13 beat run of wide complex tach (called it v-tach later) atrial flutter, some runs, pvc's,pac's, and some bradycardia at night. A few weeks later I had an EP study to try and ablate the v-tach which was unsuccessful they could not reproduce. I was sedated and have read that this could be a reason why they could not reproduce.
Avatar n tn I have to agree with Brooke - most people wouldn't survive 6 hours of v-tach. The ventricles would not be able to keep up that pace for long. Atrial tachycardia however can go on for days. Still, that would be worth a visit to the cardiologist to find out what's going on and how to manage it.
452066 tn?1400626877 I had an ablation of two areas on the outside of my heart about 6 weeks ago due to very frequent episodes of V-Tach(300beats per minute). The EP doctor stated I had 6 different areas but only ablated 2 of them. The following day I went into V-tach twice. They started me on Solalol twice a day and then put in an ICD the following week. The first week was rough, with alot of activity, but then it was next to perfect... no V-tach and not one PVC. Then a week ago, the PVCs started again..
Avatar n tn Basically, If you start having multiple PvC's in a row, it is called Ventricular Tachycardia. Now some people have V-Tach for a few seconds are maybe a little longer and it goes away and you go back to sinus rhythm. However, if your heart does not go back into normal rhythm, V-Tach can lead to the deadly ventricular rhythm called Ventricular Fibrillation. If you do not receive immediate medical attention (CPR, De fibrillation) this rhythm is always fatal.
Avatar n tn Our daughter has been diagnosised with this. Beta blocker doesn't irradicate or lessen, just lowers heart rate and seems to increase the effect of the PVC's by the # and severity. She has been gradually coming off of some medications, SSRI's and night time Trazadone for the past few months. The arrhythmia got much worse as she cut down the Trazadone to the last 50 to 25 mgs. / night. Could this be the cause? The doctor has put her back on the cymbalta and the trazadone.
678312 tn?1310010574 Question - 1 - he was wondering if his defibrillator would go off at 80 with v-tach since it is set for a high of 180, and 2 - what actually is v-tach and how bad is it?
Avatar f tn Perhaps the ICD is set too sensitive, that is it will go off if she has only 10 beats of v-tach (just an example). They can set for the rate and time of sensed v-tach before the thing fires off. Do take her in. She shouldn't have to go through this.
Avatar n tn However, I have trouble exercising still and on my last visit to the cardiologist he had me do a walk test and I went into v-tach. It ended quickly, so he put me on a beta blocker. All has been going well, but the other day I had two runs of tachycardia. The heart beat was incredibly steady in the 179bpm range. It lasted for 45 minutes both times and was very uncomfortable, with my heart cramping, and the pericarditis type pain after surgery flaring.
Avatar m tn The likelihood of going into v-tach are rare but if you do most people self convert, my colleague had runs of v-tach and once they did stress test they told him the runs of v-tach for him are "normal".
