maxalt

655875 tn?1295695107 m still very much sick to my stomach, but no headache. I will NEVER run out of migraine medicine like that again. Maxalt is the only thing that works well for my headaches. My last few migraines have been giving me the chills and sweats. I wonder why that is. I'm so grateful for my friend and for Maxalt!
655875 tn?1295695107 Every morning I wake up with a severe headache/migraine/sinus headache. I'm not sure if I'm making them worse by taking aspirin or Maxalt to relieve the headaches. I wake up and my head is pounding, so I walk into the kitchen and grab the ice pack. I will try and abort the headache with the ice pack before resorting to aspirin or ibuprofen. If the ice pack does not work with in 20-30 minutes, I will take either aspirin or ibuprofen.
Avatar f tn When I was having frequent migraines and my insurance would only pay for one refill of Maxalt each month, I obtained prescriptions for both Maxalt and Relpax and filled both each month. They worked equally well for me.
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with migraine after driving on a cloudy day without sunglasses for an hour and a half that resulted in a terrific headache, sensitivity to light and spotlights blocking my vision. The following day I could not stand up and felt like I had been given novacaine (sp) from a dentist--the left side of my tongue and upper palate were numb. I was given Benadryl, Reglan and Toradol which made me feel terrible by an ER doctor.
Avatar m tn I also consult doctors, they give medicine. when she use medicine she remains well, but as soon as she left medicine after few days she feel headache.
1549468 tn?1345468736 January 7 I had an EEG that was the most painful thing that was ever done to me. The lights were so bright that it made my eyes roll downward in my eye sockets and my left leg jerk terribly. I could not control it. Also the noises in my ears were extremely loud, enough to startle me. I have had a severe headache since then & Tylenol does not help, which is all I'm allowed to take because of my medications. Has anyone had the same experiences as I have? Any suggestions for the headache?
Avatar n tn They have been increasing in quantity and severity until about a year and a half ago I had to stop working completely. I am on a combination of darvacet, tramadol, topomax and maxalt. The combination leaves me in bed about 18 hours a day. I have had two MRIs. One with contrast and one without. Neither shows any good reason for my pain. The headache never goes away and I have no idea what makes it hit so hard every few days (room blacked out and crawling to the bathroom). Am I the only one.
Avatar f tn Hello! I am 34 years old for the past 2 years I have been getting nausea with constant headache for 6 days before my period. It's to the point where I'm on zofran and have maxalt for headache. I can't leave my house because I feel like I'm going to vomit but I don't. I guess that's a good thing, lol zofran works. Once I get my period it goes away! Anyone experience this or have any feedback thank you!!!
Avatar f tn Both times with the aura, bright spot in my vision for approx 20-30 minutes, tingling/numbness in finger tips and hands, slurred speech, nausea, then headache comes within an hour and I feel wiped out the rest of the day and the next day. My family and friends of course panicked and pressed me to see a doctor. The doctor didn't seem overly concerned and described it as the migraine w/aura, prescribed a medication to try the next time, and scheduled an MRI.
Avatar f tn t see why maxalt would be a contender for treatment of chiari induced headache. Just based on the mechanism of action of the drug I feel it could be quite dangerous. Diamox (acetazolamide) has some off label uses but I am still combing through the limited publications on the subject and wouldn't suggest it unless u had very specific imaging and symptoms. Hope that helps!
Avatar f tn Now my insurance has decided I need to try Imitrex before they will approve coverage for the Maxalt. The Imitrex took about 2 hours to have any effect, but eventually my headache subsided. Since then I have had recurring headaches for 4 days. These are similar to but not quite as painful as headaches I get from consuming too much caffeine (my caffeine tolerance is very low - a chocolate bar eaten over a 3 day period can cause extreme pain). So I am wondering if imitrex contains caffeine.
1030950 tn?1261010513 if the pain is really bad, like 8+/10 on the pain scale and it won't go away or any headache at all that you would consider the worst headache you've ever had before that you could possibly imagine anyone having no matter how long it lasts for, you could always try going to an Urgent Care Centre or the ER and they will be able to give you medication to try and stop the pain cycle (probably different than what your doctor has already prescribed you) and maybe oxygen like someone else sugg
937140 tn?1246013288 Start a headache diary. Write down the time the headache started, how long it lasted, what you did to try and treat it (meds, heat, cold...), anything you think may have triggered the headache, what type of pain the headache was (throbbing, puslating, ice pick, tight...), where the pain was located and how bad the pain was on a 1-10 scale. Good luck... of and few days ago I believe a dr here on med help posted some info on headaches/migranes...
Avatar f tn I also get migraines. have you paid attention to any of the known migraine "triggers" like red wiine & chocolate, hard cheeses etc. You probably have but I thought I'd mention it. Like the others, I take Maxalt for mine & it always works. Maxalt is from the migraine interrupter family & also includes imetrix & Zomig. Good luck - it sounds very difficult.
Avatar m tn She proclaims that she diluted and injected her migraine medicine (Maxalt) because she keeps throwing it up. Her symptoms, however, where those of an opiate overdose....blue hands and face, low respiration, eyes rolling backwards, staggering, tremoring arms upon waking up, disorientation, etc. Does anyone know what the side effects would be of injecting maxalt? I find this impossible to believe that it would knock her out and turn her blue.
Avatar f tn Rebound headaches occur with more than 3 times a week usage of over-the-counter pain medications. This is commonly experienced by a lot of headache sufferers. There is also a migraine /headache tracker here in Medhelp that may help you determine your possible triggers to avoid. Take care and do keep us posted.
7748835 tn?1393868668 I've had a headache every single day for the past 3 weeks and I'm not exaggerating either. I've always problems with headaches. Right after exercising as a child id get terrible headaches. I've been to a neurologist as a child and was told it was not migraines and nothing else was done. We'll recently I've been getting headaches and normally ibuprofen/Tylenol would help but it hasn't even lessened the pain whatsoever anymore.
Avatar m tn I have had a pain in my head behind my left eye for the last week which eventually turned into a migraine headache last night. I would love to be able to wean myself off Inderal tablets but I am very surprised at how quickly my headaches have come back now that i'm down to only 3 a day. Could this just be my body getting used to the new dosage (that might stop after a while?
Avatar f tn t know if it helps but I have never been able to take ANY type of birth control pills because they cause migraines. I would have a daily headache while I was on them, then a big ole migraine. I would also have more migraines after I started my period. As I got closer to 40, they were out of control. You may just not be able to take the pill.
Avatar f tn Maxalt rocks. I love it and carry it everywhere with me. www.maxalt.com Another new med www.relpax.com (I have some, just not had a headache lately to use them) because I take my magnesium :0-). Here is a good site with migraine info. http://www.achenet.org/ And you need to get your migraine "bible" I got mine off of half.com cheap. This book helped me a lot in understanding my headaches and lots of good info.
1334481 tn?1276697078 Dear NM, Congratulation on achieving your degree. The Maxalt can cause what is called a rebound headache/migraine from overuse. I've not heard of being immune to it. Here are a couple of thoughts that might help you: 1) You and your Doctor may need to consider upping the dosage of topomax. My wife increased her dosage from 50mg to 100mg. At the 50mg dose we did notice a decrease in total number of monthly migraines after discounting for weather from the 25mg dose.
Avatar n tn Relpax??) made my heart race and didnt alleviate the headache like MAXALT - ohh, I LOVE this medicine! I pop one right under the tongue as soon as my "spots" start, and about 20 minutes later, I can feel the headache breaking up a bit. Maybe this will work for you :-) Good luck!
Avatar f tn you might see if they can put you on a medication in case you have a headache while on the topamax.
Avatar f tn ve been taking. The maxalt worked right away, but I did wake up later on last night with a headache again. I go back to the neurologist next month for a follow-up.
1102283 tn?1257817472 Make sure you tell your doctor about any OTC medications you take regularly. If the pain persists, you may need to consult your doctor and have a prescription medicine. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Hi Chloe, Such a beautiful name! I am sorry to hear about your migraines and the nausea and exhaustion that they are causing. Excedrine Migraine is great for occassional migraines or headaches but long term use causes the medicine to trigger more migraines, which is the exact opposite goal of the medicine in the first place. The hydrocodone is quite a bit stronger than the Excedrine and I am surprised it is not working and not even making a dent in the pain.
