does either imitrex or maxalt contain caffeine? I was taking Maxalt for migraines and it worked great! Now my insurance has decided I need to try Imitrex before they will approve coverage for the Maxalt. The Imitrex took about 2 hours to have any effect, but eventually my headache subsided. Since then I have had recurring headaches for 4 days.

Excedrin is much better than plain Tylenol. Excedrin has Tylenol, Aspirin and Caffeine. It is an excellent combination for migraines. And for the dizziness and nausea....this is going to sound crazy but I swear it works....Meclizine. You can take one 3 times daily. And it is OTC but you have to get at a pharmacy I have never been pregnant so, I cannot say those meds are safe...but, you don't have to wait for your OB to call back....any Pharmacist will be able to tell you!

My friend had called me and I told her that I was too sick to talk and that I had run out of my Maxalt. My friend is a life saver! I had super bad migraines for over 3 years now and not even topomax, maxalt, ecedrine, tylenol, advil ANYTHING took the agony away. I was always in screaming pain for 5-8 hours having at least 3 a day. Then my obgyn prescribed me butal/ acetaminophen/codiene and it helped SO much, within 30 minutes the pain and migraine went away and didn't come back. who knew my obgyn would help better than my doctor? If you can, ask your doctor about a medication for migranes called Maxalt. its specifically for migranes and works like a charm. hope you feel better soon.

I have migraines about every other day, and take 5mg maxalt for them. I was just given Remeron for depression, as the doc said i cannot take any SSRI's because of serotonin syndrome. I cannot find and interactions for Remeron, but just wondering if anyone else has tried these together. Any info appreciated.

Also, my symtoms don't exactly match the standard either, but after going to a Headache clinic I was confirmed as having migraines-the pain is on either the left or right front of my forehead never goes beyond the ears and can be a real pain unless I catch them at the beginning, if wake up with "full blown" it becomes a race btw the Maxalt and the migraine, I have had anywhere from 15-18 per month, also have to use strong coffee and ice pack or it's just a waste of the Maxalt a

pills every 4 hours was and which one had the worst side effects and why I liked the Stadol better so I told her first I treat my headache with 2 extra strength tylenol, and then Maxalt Melt tablets and then 2 mg. of dilaudid and if none of these work after waiting a reasonable amout of time between each medication I use the Stadol instead of going to the Emergency Room.

I went to the neurologist yesterdayand they have now ordered and MRI brain scan set for 3:30 this afternoon. They also gave me nortryptaline and maxalt to take instead of the fioricet that I've been taking. The maxalt worked right away, but I did wake up later on last night with a headache again. I have been having severe migraines for the past year and a half. I've been on 3 different medications including, inderal 10 milligrams which stopped working, inderal 25 milligrams which caused me to black out and get dizzy, and amitriptyline 25 milligrams, which stopped working. I'm concerned because after talking to my doctor he looked at my charts and noted that I relapse with migraines every three months. These migraines are so severe it keeps me from doing my every day activities.

I'm 21 female, I noticed this happening a few months back maybe in July or August, it was just a slight headache no big deal went away after a nap or an Advil. Now I'm starting to get them more frequent they're throbbing and I can hardly see straight nor stand. I also have nausea and dizziness and shortness of breathe. I hope this isn't a brain tumor. s only ever been in the back of my head and when it gets bad like if i dont take some type of tylenol or Advil right away it gets bad. I can always hear my heartbeat throbing in my head if i look down there's more pressure and hurts extremely bad I was in the hospital so much from 17-20 they gave me a cat scan i believe it was i guess it came out fine .

Hey there, Maxalt shouldn't cause rebound headaches, BUT it is true that you can only take 2 doses every 24 hours. So, never take more than two doses in 24 hours and never take more then 2 doses for the SAME migraine. OTC medications such as Ibuprofen (advil) or acetaminophen (Tylenol) are much more likely to cause rebound headaches than triptans such as Maxalt.

The same Dr gave me Naproxen and hydracodone but i cannot take the hydracodone as it upsets my stomach and basically does not allow me to function.The front and back of my head hurt as do my neck and jaw. My vision is fuzzy at times and it is difficult to do my job which requires much detail and work on a computer. Also had a moment where I would look at a particular document and know that I was upposed to do something with it but for a few seconds did not not know what to do.

There are many types of tryptans and some work on some people and not others Maxalt works better for some people. Excedrine migraine helps my friend too. It is best to get diagnosed though. But you can't take triptans more than 2 days a week. If you do the brain cells get used to them and then you get rebound headache. Tylenol will give you rebound headache as well. I don't take Tylenol at all anymore for that reason.

If your Doctor is aware of the potential side effects of Tramadol and Maxalt and you are being closely monitored, then I apologize for alarming you. If not, you definitely need to talk to him/her about it. Should you decide to discontinue one of these drugs before speaking with your Doctor, the Maxalt would be the one. Don't stop taking the Tramadol. It has to be tapered down.

Hi, I am new....Just yesterday heard of Chiari...I have been having Migraines & head aches for over 2 years now. Went to the Dr. She never has mentioned a MRI. My head never feels perfect. The pain grows during the day. By 4 to 5 I am laying on the couch. The pain is sharp and then not so, but there is always a bad feeling(numbness or pressure I guess would explain it) up there. Its so hard to explain.

I personally use Zomig Nasal Spray and find it works extremely well. I also have found great success with Maxalt-MLTs. Statistically, compared to the other triptans, Imitrex Injection, Zomig Nasal Spray and Maxalt-MLTs have the highest success rates for total pain relief in the shortest amount of time.
