181575 tn?1250198786 so, take massage therapy as you will, if you have not experienced therapeutic massage i can understand why you might feel a certain way toward it. ok, enough for now, feel free to comment back. i realize this sounded like i was on an angry rant, but i'm not, i 'm just super passionate about sharing my beliefs and teaching others about massage. So if you dont feel massage can benefit hep B, that is perfectly fine, what do you do to make your symptoms better?????? I am still curious.
Avatar f tn I almost hate that my sessions are soon to come to an end. I have a Groupon for a massage at a massage parlor that does prenatal massage. When I finish my chiropractic sessions, I will go to my ob and make sure that is okay to get the massage... anything that may safely ease discomfort is definitely welcomed (in my opinion)...
Avatar n tn Anyway, I have been feeling pretty bad since that massage... I know the reiki therapy is supposed to relax you... what do you guys think? Im trying to do anything that might relieve some stress and pain. If you read my other post I have bulging disks in c5.6 & 7 and i have a 7-8 mm chiari 1 malformation. Anyone's comments or opinions on this would be appreciated. He also wanted to try craniosacral therapy, has anyone had any success with that?
897648 tn?1241801939 What kind of physical Therapy can I do to help my golden with hind leg atrophy. She does have hip dysplasia, was diagnosed at 2. So she actually has done extremely well with Homeopathic Product. I have started the Rimadyl a few months ago. Thank you.
400099 tn?1282954864 Hi all. I know it's been a while. It's been a heck of a 7 week period for me. First, I (somehow) was taking care of my father during the day for 14 days straight with no break, then later the next week he passed away, funeral, etc. grieving, etc. Then 2 weeks ago I totalled my van. Whiplas, bruised spleen, strained shoulder and a humongous bruise on my arm with a small cut that they say now infected my arm. So, that's why I haven't been on.
Avatar f tn I went to physical therapy today for the first timeand I feel so much better! Did anyone else have to do physical therapy or are planning on starting? They have me a list of exercises to do at home and they work wonders.
Avatar m tn Trigger point massage isn't the same thing as deep tissue massage. Deep tissue massage goes very deep into muscles, and it hurts. Trigger point massage also hurts, but not as much. For you, it helped and was relaxing afterward. For others, it doesn't help at all -- there's no medical evidence that shows massage actually does anything, but you can't tell that to anyone who has had one and felt a lot better for a while.
Avatar f tn I went to school for nails! At my school they all so teach massage therapy! 3 girls in my class were pregnant! The senior class would all ways come and ask if they would like a prenatal massage. They have a special drop table for prenatal massages! The girls in my class loved it! And it was free to them! But the schools cost is half of what the other places charge and they have instructors checking on the students! I go and havent had any problems! Its $35 an hour!
Avatar m tn Some massage techniques that are commonly used for cellulite include lymphatic drainage massage, deep tissue massage, and myofascial release. While massage may provide some temporary relief, it is not considered to be a long-term solution for cellulite. Radiofrequency (RF) therapy: RF therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses radio waves to heat the skin's deeper layers. This heating effect is thought to stimulate collagen production, which can help to tighten and smooth the skin.
999891 tn?1407276076 Rod, I will say my oldest son sees the MT mentioned above. He gets very bad migrane headaches. Meds don't touch the HAs but with this type of massage [if you see it done it doesn't really appear to be massage at all] his HA is gone within about 15 mins of starting the procedure. I've asked why it is dangerous for Chiari. He didn't really know but he had called the instructor that taught him and was told not to touch me with this type of treatment.
4268628 tn?1375041176 Anyone go through physical therapy to help with joint pains and to help your body adjust to your uterus expanding? Just kinda curious of what to expect. I go in for my first appt on tuesday.

Avatar n tn t heard of thoracic outlet syndrome! I am going to look this up! And massage therapy? Who does this? Like medical massage or a physical therapist or doctor? Tell me more! Glad you found something that helps and appreciate your telling us this!
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried LaStone Massage Therapy or the use of Bamboo? I have heard that the Bamboo provides a deep tissue massage without the discomfort from the practitioner's hands, arms, or elbows. The LaStone uses smooth stones that are heated and cooled with the balance of a light Swedish massage. There are still more modalities that I am learning to become a Massage Therapist.
675923 tn?1296238011 presc. muscle relaxers and ppills along with massage therapy. My spine is fine, it is just muscle. Tailbones take forever, if ever, to heal. I cannot take anti-inflamitories. Question: I went for massage therapy. I was on my back, ice/heat, for the entire weekend. My hips hurt to even move or even lay down. Standing up was better but I can't stand all day/night. I felt better this morning. I went for massage therapy again today.

Avatar m tn Hello, I just want to be more assured. I was on a massage. Prostate massage was performed in a latex glove that was not damaged so transmission is not possible. Then there was a penis massage that used warm oil until the climax. She was dressed so there was no posterior secret. The only possible transfer would be if there was blood on hand. She had very greasy hands and I did not notice any blood. There were no blood marks when wearing a white gloved hand.
Avatar f tn Steph I have used massage therapy, acupuncunture, physical therapy, meditation traction and more. I LOVE massage therapy. I am blessed to have found a therapist that used to be an R.N. and she is fantastic. I would go once a week if I could afford it but I can't so I shoot for once a month and look forward to it big time. I hope that you continue to see improvement in your visits.
Avatar f tn On Ess's advice I'm trying this again with more clear wording. :) I hadn't meant to imply "alternative to DMD" but additional therapies. Does anyone use any *complementary* therapies? Have you had postive results with them? I'm asking because the TN and occipital neuralgia pain had gotten so bad I was having a lot of muscle tension in my neck and back from the pain. I decided some massage therapy couldn't hurt and might help.
Avatar f tn I have heard nothing but bad about leupron, suposed to cause crying spells, ( it puts you into a drug induced menopause) and severe depresson, back therapy is wonderful its massage, magnetic therapy and other things to reduce back pain, it feels great and is very relaxing and does help with back pain.
Avatar f tn has anyone gotten massage therapy afterward to promote healing? My friend just mentioned lymphatic massage and reflexology massage work to promote healing.. and i was just curious about it.
1979418 tn?1432135441 I haven't tried reflexology, but please post how it goes!! I use acupuncture, chiropractic and massage therapy, but haven't tried reflexology. So far I think acupuncture and massage work the best for my MS symptoms. My insurance doesn't cover it either, but I couldn't work if I didn't keep it up. We're going to take it off on our taxes too! Best wishes to you!!
Avatar f tn t post. I added physical therapy to my normal massage and chiropractic regime. If I had to pick One for this pain, I'd go with the pt.
237053 tn?1258828426 I had a massage (deep tissue.. that I must say HURT LIKE HELL), and literally the next day is when I noticed the cognitive problems and weakness. Maybe it is just coincidence, but very strange. I had had the slight numbness in my toes and the stiff painful neck shoulders prior, so I thought a massage would do me good. NO! The next day all everthing got worse! That weekend I ended up in the ER due to weakness, numbness, and dizziness. Don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.
1268921 tn?1288919056 I get massage therapy once a week along with physical therapy. the massage helps the shoulders/neck area so much. they dont do much around my neck and back of head. They also to alot of the bones in the skull manipulation. helps the CSF flow and making things even. I would say do the massage, just request they only stick to the shoulders, back area, nothing too close to the neck.
