Avatar f tn I went to school for nails! At my school they all so teach massage therapy! 3 girls in my class were pregnant! The senior class would all ways come and ask if they would like a prenatal massage. They have a special drop table for prenatal massages! The girls in my class loved it! And it was free to them! But the schools cost is half of what the other places charge and they have instructors checking on the students! I go and havent had any problems! Its $35 an hour!
Avatar f tn The only relief I get from migraines are from massage therapy, with a well trained therapist. Massage therapy also helps with depression. This I learned all from experience. I commend you on your search and diligence in your effort to do anything necessary to help your son. There aren't enough moms out there like you! Good luck.
Avatar f tn On Ess's advice I'm trying this again with more clear wording. :) I hadn't meant to imply "alternative to DMD" but additional therapies. Does anyone use any *complementary* therapies? Have you had postive results with them? I'm asking because the TN and occipital neuralgia pain had gotten so bad I was having a lot of muscle tension in my neck and back from the pain. I decided some massage therapy couldn't hurt and might help.
425312 tn?1279966179 That should be added to the Thomas Recipe....Massage Therapy Detox by 12%.....I think. Thanks for the input How are u worried? Good I hope. Glad to see ya.

181575 tn?1250198786 so, take massage therapy as you will, if you have not experienced therapeutic massage i can understand why you might feel a certain way toward it. ok, enough for now, feel free to comment back. i realize this sounded like i was on an angry rant, but i'm not, i 'm just super passionate about sharing my beliefs and teaching others about massage. So if you dont feel massage can benefit hep B, that is perfectly fine, what do you do to make your symptoms better?????? I am still curious.
Avatar f tn I almost hate that my sessions are soon to come to an end. I have a Groupon for a massage at a massage parlor that does prenatal massage. When I finish my chiropractic sessions, I will go to my ob and make sure that is okay to get the massage... anything that may safely ease discomfort is definitely welcomed (in my opinion)...
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome - I'd like to reiterate what Sandy said, PT does help as does massage therapy for me. You can google "Migraine Physical Therapy" and will find youtube videos that show you exercises to do, I tend to move in clusters with my headaches but I have many less now than I did. I have a really good massage therapist who is also going to school for PT, she does TMJ massage for me and it is so helpful to my headaches.
Avatar n tn Anyway, I have been feeling pretty bad since that massage... I know the reiki therapy is supposed to relax you... what do you guys think? Im trying to do anything that might relieve some stress and pain. If you read my other post I have bulging disks in c5.6 & 7 and i have a 7-8 mm chiari 1 malformation. Anyone's comments or opinions on this would be appreciated. He also wanted to try craniosacral therapy, has anyone had any success with that?
Avatar f tn s best to go to a massage therapist because there are some precautions, especially if in the first trimester, most therapists or chiropractors will want a note from your dr saying it is safe. I was going to massage therapy school but had to drop, and be careful of foot rubs, getting into the reflexology part of it we learned there is a spot on the side of the ankle that relates to the overies and uterus and can send a woman into labor.
627388 tn?1222198212 Massage helps me tremendously!! I end up with slightly more energy, but mainly with far fewer symptoms and less muscle tightness when I get my once-per-week massage. Lately, I haven't been getting my massage regularly and my symptoms are out of control! I feel like my vision is fading, I'm dizzier and more wobbly than ever, and my leg cramps wake me up at night. Massage seems to eliminate some toxins from my body. For days to a week after a massage, I usually feel better!!
897648 tn?1241801939 What kind of physical Therapy can I do to help my golden with hind leg atrophy. She does have hip dysplasia, was diagnosed at 2. So she actually has done extremely well with Homeopathic Product. I have started the Rimadyl a few months ago. Thank you.
400099 tn?1282954864 Hi all. I know it's been a while. It's been a heck of a 7 week period for me. First, I (somehow) was taking care of my father during the day for 14 days straight with no break, then later the next week he passed away, funeral, etc. grieving, etc. Then 2 weeks ago I totalled my van. Whiplas, bruised spleen, strained shoulder and a humongous bruise on my arm with a small cut that they say now infected my arm. So, that's why I haven't been on.
Avatar f tn I was having the same problems minus the fainting a long time ago. I went to school to become a massage therapist and while I was there the constant massaging(usually 4 a week) helped with most of the problems I was having. Also if you can find someone who does Cranial Sacral therapy it does miracles for the migraines.
470168 tn?1237471245 As I understand it, in the states, OT provided by a child's school is only supposed to support him in his educational setting. This leaves things wide open for interpretation and argument. Many school OT's will not address (directly) sensory issues. They will, instead, help the child to feed himself, hold a crayon, learn to use scissors, stuff like that. If a parent wants a full sensory evaluation done, it is done privately.
Avatar f tn I went to physical therapy today for the first timeand I feel so much better! Did anyone else have to do physical therapy or are planning on starting? They have me a list of exercises to do at home and they work wonders.
Avatar f tn Just bragging my 6 yr old came home from school got a bottle of cocoa cream nd tells me ok mommy lay down its time for Yehoshùa 2 have a massage his been massaging my belly 4 a full hour nd won't stop OMG best brother 2 be how not 2 love them
Avatar m tn Trigger point massage isn't the same thing as deep tissue massage. Deep tissue massage goes very deep into muscles, and it hurts. Trigger point massage also hurts, but not as much. For you, it helped and was relaxing afterward. For others, it doesn't help at all -- there's no medical evidence that shows massage actually does anything, but you can't tell that to anyone who has had one and felt a lot better for a while.
Avatar m tn Some massage techniques that are commonly used for cellulite include lymphatic drainage massage, deep tissue massage, and myofascial release. While massage may provide some temporary relief, it is not considered to be a long-term solution for cellulite. Radiofrequency (RF) therapy: RF therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses radio waves to heat the skin's deeper layers. This heating effect is thought to stimulate collagen production, which can help to tighten and smooth the skin.
999891 tn?1407276076 Rod, I will say my oldest son sees the MT mentioned above. He gets very bad migrane headaches. Meds don't touch the HAs but with this type of massage [if you see it done it doesn't really appear to be massage at all] his HA is gone within about 15 mins of starting the procedure. I've asked why it is dangerous for Chiari. He didn't really know but he had called the instructor that taught him and was told not to touch me with this type of treatment.
Avatar f tn Hey, I'm 17, and in the last few months, experienced panic attacks in school, to the point where my legs go numb and i start to feel dizzy, and need to leave the class. I went to the doctor, and had a low vitamin count, took some cod liver oil capsules etc but i don't think it's going away. It's really getting me down because I can't focus in school properly anymore and think something terrible is going to happen in the classroom.
4268628 tn?1375041176 Anyone go through physical therapy to help with joint pains and to help your body adjust to your uterus expanding? Just kinda curious of what to expect. I go in for my first appt on tuesday.
800724 tn?1254440318 I did. not to go back to work but to go back to school. The help I received from my occupational therapist was tremendous. I will be able to go back to go school this semester and because of the occupational therapy I believe I will better able to go to school.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm in my first year of teaching and am suffering from really swollen vocal chords. I've seen an ENT specialist and have been given exercises to do but they don't seem to be helping. I've been following all of the usual advice - drinking plenty of water, avoiding caffeine / alcohol, resting my voice when I can, steam inhalation, avoiding acid reflux but it only seems to be getting worse. This has been the case for around a year now.
Avatar m tn Hello Sieben~ I went thru the same thing as you. Lifted too much weight in my shoulders at work, felt a pull in my trap, kept working, and the next day I was COMPLETELY debilitated with EXCRUCIATING pain in my right shoulder. Went to the ER for xrays and an MRI. Was put thru 4 months of physical therapy along with massage therapy. That didn't work. Then 1 cortizone shot, it worked for a short while, then I was back to my normal self.
914427 tn?1243054891 after that i joined the flag corps at school. i realize that probably did me more harm than good. after that i went to a sports medicine doctor. he told me to take eight weeks off of swimming and do physical therapy. he actually told me flag corps was GOOD for my shoulder. physical therapy was a WASTE OF TIME. they told me the problem was in my rotator cuff and only did work to strengthen that. the rhomboid pain worsened. after quitting physical therapy i went to a chiropractor.
