Avatar n tn I am very familiar with this process and understand headaches are just a part of it. However, these are massive headaches. Any suggestions on how to overcome this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
Avatar f tn and will find youtube videos that show you exercises to do, I tend to move in clusters with my headaches but I have many less now than I did. I have a really good massage therapist who is also going to school for PT, she does TMJ massage for me and it is so helpful to my headaches. Finding a way to learn to relax those muscles will be key for you - I also do yoga which has helped so much.
Avatar f tn Some patients report beneficial results from secondary treatments that help reduce the effects of stress and tension on the body, such as massage, meditation and the use of biofeedback techniques. In some cases, patients also may benefit from the effects of psychotherapy as a means of learning how to cope with stress and tension. Therapies such as stress management or biofeedback may be used in an effort to reduce or prevent tension headaches. http://www.ourheadache.
Avatar f tn In most cases, these headaches are transformed migraines or migraines which eventually became more frequent and more like tension headaches. Massage therapy and stress reduction techniques such as breathing exercises and meditation may help. Regular blood pressure monitoring is also highly recommended. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn I've been experiencing bad headaches lately. I take a Tylenol at least once a day 500mg. Is there a limit of consumption day/week during Pregnancy?
Avatar n tn re most likely tension headaches caused by the stress of the detox. Try relaxation techniques or get a massage. If the headaches reduce after a massage, then they're most likely tension induced.
Avatar m tn i've been reading alot about peoples headaches and how they get them most days and put it down to all sorts of stuff. i've had a headache for 4 maybe 5years now constantly from the moment i wake up till the moment i go to bed. only time i don't have one is when i'm asleep. i've seen a head specialist and had a mri scan, and everything came back normal. they just told me it was a tension headache. they gave me pills what had no effect.
Avatar f tn Both of these techniques worked for me during my w/d. Keep it up your doing great and the headaches will pass.
Avatar n tn One differential may include ice pick headaches. The International Headache Society classify these headaches if there is no other disorder present, no accompanying symptoms, head pain occurring as single stab or series of stabs and stabs lasting for up to a few seconds and recurring with irregular frequency. It is important that you identify and avoid any trigger. Relaxation techniques may also be helpful; try to remain calm and take slow, deep breaths.
Avatar f tn My 34 yr old husband has recently (in the last month) started having extreme headaches. He says that the are constant, sharp, pains. The location is from his shoulders up through his neck, continuing to the back of his head (about ear level) and goes around the sides. There's no pain in the top or front of his head. Our Dr. at first said sinus infection and gave 2 rounds of antibiotics. Then he said it was pre-hypertension with his blood pressure running about 135/90 and put him on b.p.
Avatar f tn ive had success treating pregnant women as a massage therapist and using massage to treat my headaches.
Avatar n tn And I was staying away from caffeine which also can help headaches a bit too. So, it was hard. You know what helped me? massage. Got anyone who can do that for you? My husband may have gotten sore hands from my massage requests and this may sound odd but my sister would also massage my neck and head. I was desperate man and that helped. I had someone tell me too that putting a cold pack on the head helps and have tried that and sure enough, it does. Try to get extra sleep if you can.
Avatar f tn Hi, How long have you been having migraines? Prophylactic medications may be taken daily to reduce the frequency and duration of your migraine headaches. It is important to avoid triggers of your migraine and consider going to sleep and waking up at the same time each day, exercising regularly, avoid skipping meals, and limiting stress through regular exercise and relaxation techniques. Progressive muscle relaxation, meditation and yoga may help.

341042 tn?1244776427 Hi everyone. I have been suffering from migraines for 4 years now. They have become chronic, I have either a severe headache or a migraine every day. I'm taking preventive medications-so far my neurologist & I have not been able to find the one that will work for me. My dr. also talked to me about rebound headaches, so I have tapered down my use of triptans and painkiller (I usually take Fiorinal).
1448936 tn?1363206346 I've been dealing with really bothersome symptoms recently. My stress has been through the roof and I've been dealing with headaches, a pressure feeling in my head, I've been unconciously clenching my jaw causing me more head discomfort, and my shoulders and back muscles are constantly tight. I have to physically tell myself to relax my shoulders and stop clenching my jaw. Its making me miserable, the constant head pain and muscle tightness.
Avatar f tn re almost through the worst of it so just hang on tight! Sometimes when I get the headaches I massage my feet and my neck. It really helps relieve the tension! Hope you feel better soon!
1184961 tn?1292574076 Yes & it does help, only it's expensive. My husband has been unemployed for 2 years so we have to cut back on expenses. I do get the massages when I can though. I wish I could get them on a regular basis. I failed to say that I also havae fibromyalgia so the massages does wonders for that when I can get them regularly. I haev 2 friends who are massage therapists who do give me discounts right now, so I am blessed in that respect. Thanks for reminding me of this.

Avatar n tn I did not develop Lymphodema after my cancer treatment but because I was having radiation to the bowel, I was seeing a physio for prevention techniques to stop it happening and if it did happen how to manage it. (I had my pelvic lymph nodes removed during my hysterectomy). If you see your doctor and get him to refer you to a physiotherapist that is experienced in lymphatic drainage massage they will be able to show you and treat you with massage that you can actually do at home.
