I'm 52 and was prescribed macrobid for a UTI. Shortly after taking it I started having really severe heart palpitations. I have had them off and on since I was 29 and have been told it's probably due to my hypoglycemia. I'm very sensitive to certain medications and I looked this one up and it says it should not be prescribed to older people who have a debilitating condition. I am extremely anemic and may have internal bleeding in my intestinal area. My dr.
I had macrobid for a few.days, but developed a rash. So they put me on amoxicillin, which cleared up the infection, however, I ended up getting a yeast infection because of amoxicillin killing too much bacteria. Overall it was a terrible experience and I should've tried curing it naturally.
And yesterday I had to have a tooth pulled, (My teeth seem to be falling apart.) And the dentist gave me amoxicillin for the infection and tramadol for the pain. Both say should not be taken in cases of liver problems. I am taking only half the dose he prescribed of the pain medication, and will stop it as soon as the pain stops. But the amoxicillin should be completely taken, to clear up the infection. What should I do? I don't want to cause any more damage to my liver!
My first urinalysis came up negative at the doctors but when sent out grew group b. She said it was small numbers but since I was having pain to treat it. We did so with amoxicillin. The pain and peeing at night never went away. I saw a different doctor a few weeks later and this time in the doctors office it showed WBC so he put me on Macrobid and it made me feel better for like 2 days then not so much. When it was sent out it again came back group b.
She gave me macrobid for it and the first few days I thought I was feeling better but by the 3rd day I was back to feeling bad again. She then wanted me to go on amoxicillin but I have been on that 2x and still have this UTI. So I called a urologist myself and have to wait a week for the appointment. I am worried that it might be a kidney infection now? My only symptoms are pain when my bladder fills and back and pelvic pain.
I tried every antibiotic (cipro, zithromax, amoxicillin, etc.) and macrobid was the only one that killed it. Ever since I have requested macrobid as the others still have failed to work. Now it appears as if macrobid no longer works. Also, for two years I have had blood in my urine (even when I don't have a UTI). I was also diagnosed (when this first recurrent infection occurred)

Okey can anybody tell me Why a dr would prescribe me a type of penicillin that is the same family of amoxicillin, & im allergic to amoxicillin! Why would he do that! I told him im allergic to amoxicillin & dnt kno what happens cuz my mom nvr told me! Ugh f k n dr!
DOES MACROBID CAUSE BLEEDING OR MAKE YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE COME EARLY. I JUST FINISHED MACROBID 7 DAY TREATMENT. MY MENSTRUAL CAME 3 DAYS EARLY AND THERE IS BRIGHT RED BLOOD AND USUALLY MY MENSTRUAL BLOOD IS NOT THAT BRIGHT. I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this? It is getting rather annoying and saddens me cause it feels like i cant do anymore what i like to. If anyone has had the same thing happen, please let me know im not alone... Did anyone take macrobid for uti during third trimester?
Uti or bladder infection. My doctor proscribed me macrobid. Terrified to take it, anyone else had to use this while pregnant, I'm only 8 weeks!
Has anyone been perscribed, or taken macrobid at the ens of there pregnancy? I was proscribed it. I habe two different drs and im.being induced monday. And it DIRECTLY states dont use it 37 weeks or later or close to delivery. .. im scared and this pregnancy is so freaking hard on me. Im getting to the point of giving up. And i dont want to cause my boy and family need me to fight.

The urinalysis that was sent to the lab showed that their was a tiny bacteria but they werent sure if this was due to cross contamination. My questions are below, the dr took put me on macrobid saying this may help my issue.
1 Prescribed Macrrobid which I believe has Helped, Would this cure NGU? From what I read Macrobid is generally given for UTI's which im hoping is what I have. The dr never mentioned NGU to me .
