Talk to your doctor about this immediately. My understanding is Macrobid has been known to cause problems when taken during late pregnancy:
"If you get recurrent urinary tract infections or if the infection gets into your kidneys, your caregiver may recommend taking nitrofurantoin (trade name Macrodantin or Macrobid) for the rest of your pregnancy to prevent another infection.
Has anyone been perscribed, or taken macrobid at the ens of there pregnancy? I was proscribed it. I habe two different drs and im.being induced monday. And it DIRECTLY states dont use it 37 weeks or later or close to delivery. .. im scared and this pregnancy is so freaking hard on me. Im getting to the point of giving up. And i dont want to cause my boy and family need me to fight.
Are you pregnant? Macrobid is pregnancy category B--- used in pregnancy. Cipro, the gold standard is pregnancy category C--- not the best choice for someone who is pregnant. Amoxicillin isn't the best choice at all for a UTI based on the common bacteria that causes UTI's. Every infection is caused by a specific strain of bacteria. Some antibiotics are going to work better on different strains of bacteria.
Uti or bladder infection. My doctor proscribed me macrobid. Terrified to take it, anyone else had to use this while pregnant, I'm only 8 weeks!
Does the antibiotic macrobid used to treat uti's decrease the effectiveness of birth control? Because I'm on the pill and I shouldn't get my period for another week and I've been bleeding.. This makes me nervous because while taking macrobid I had sex without a condom, he pulled out, but I know that's not always a safe alternative either.
I know that during early pregnancy bleeding isn't uncommon. I'm scared out of my mind..
The only thing I was ever told I could take for it since I was pregnant was Macrobid. You should call your doctor tomorrow and ask about the Macrobid. Also try drinking cranberry juice, or if you can't stand it (i can't) try the OTC cranberry pills, they should help just the same as the juice. I forget exactly how its supposed to help but it does. Most medications are contraindicated during pregnancy especially during the first three months when the unborn child’s organs start to develop. Macrobid is safe in pregnancy after the first 2 months or 8 weeks . Continuing its use will help prevent resistance to the medications later on. A close follow up with your physician is important and just take it as indicated by the doctor. Do not take it more than the intended number of days.

Lately I've all of a sudden really had to go to the bathroom, without any warning. I find myself sprinting just to make it and when I wipe there is blood. I still have another week till my next period and I just started birth control about 3 weeks ago and have had intense soccer practices for 2 weeks now. I had sex about a month ago (right before I went on birth control) but we used a condom and I'm almost positive it didn't break. So I don't know whats wrong...
DOES MACROBID CAUSE BLEEDING OR MAKE YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE COME EARLY. I JUST FINISHED MACROBID 7 DAY TREATMENT. MY MENSTRUAL CAME 3 DAYS EARLY AND THERE IS BRIGHT RED BLOOD AND USUALLY MY MENSTRUAL BLOOD IS NOT THAT BRIGHT. I INITIIALLY WASNT DUE FOR MY MENSTRUAL UNTIL YESTERDAY I'VE BEEN BLEEDING SINCE THE 3RD AND IM STILL BLEEDING BUT NOT ALOT LIKE I WAS YESTERDAY AND THE DAYS BEFORE BUT THE BLEEDING HAS LIGHTENED.
My lesson learned from Quick-Care is wait for your infection to get really bad before going in to give a lab specimen. Thankfully, based on my symptoms only, they gave me MACROBID (nitrofurantoin.) I didn't feel like it was helping until just after the last pill. But then, 4 days later the symptoms were back again. I have been forcing diet cranberry juice but not getting much sleep, obviously. It is painful to wipe because the tissues are so irritated-I am applying Bacitracin?
I have relapsing-remitting MS and was given Macrobid for a UTI. After my first day of Macrobid, my entire left side has gone numb and i have lost function in it. I do know that the weakness and numbness in one side can be caused by the MS, but it did not occur until i took the macrobid. I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this?
