My doc precribed me the antibiotic macrobid. She said it is safe during pregnancy but I have read so many post from woman online who say macrobid caused them problems nor even miscarriage. I have had 3 miscarriages and this pregnancy seems to be going really well. So im very nervous to take this med. Do any of you ladies know of any natural ways to get rid of a uti? Also if you have taken this med during pregnancy, what was the out come?

Has anyone been perscribed, or taken macrobid at the ens of there pregnancy? I was proscribed it. I habe two different drs and im.being induced monday. And it DIRECTLY states dont use it 37 weeks or later or close to delivery. .. im scared and this pregnancy is so freaking hard on me. Im getting to the point of giving up. And i dont want to cause my boy and family need me to fight.

Macrobid is the safest antibiotic durning pregnancy... It has no side effects during pregnancy, I took it when I was 5weeks and the Dr, so the pharmacy tech advice it was safe!!!

Are you pregnant? Macrobid is pregnancy category B--- used in pregnancy. Cipro, the gold standard is pregnancy category C--- not the best choice for someone who is pregnant. Amoxicillin isn't the best choice at all for a UTI based on the common bacteria that causes UTI's. Every infection is caused by a specific strain of bacteria. Some antibiotics are going to work better on different strains of bacteria.

t go away without it. Macrobid is safe during pregnancy. Having an untreated infection to on is dangerous for you and your baby. It can cause you to have a kidney infection and go septic (which is when the infection gets so bad it goes into your blood stream). Take the meds and you'll be fine!

s this pregnancy. both very safe to take. not sure about the diclectin and macrobid. call the pharmacist in the am. if you are in pain tonight you can take 2 tylenol (NOT IBProfen, Motrin or Advil--these aren't safe). I am currently waiting on tests for a kidney infection. doc has already started me on amoxycillin (just in case) and advised me to take 2 tylenol every 4 hours or as needed (i am not one to take drugs unless absolutely necessary).

The only thing I was ever told I could take for it since I was pregnant was Macrobid. You should call your doctor tomorrow and ask about the Macrobid. Also try drinking cranberry juice, or if you can't stand it (i can't) try the OTC cranberry pills, they should help just the same as the juice. I forget exactly how its supposed to help but it does. Hi Most medications are contraindicated during pregnancy especially during the first three months when the unborn child’s organs start to develop. Macrobid is safe in pregnancy after the first 2 months or 8 weeks . Continuing its use will help prevent resistance to the medications later on. A close follow up with your physician is important and just take it as indicated by the doctor. Do not take it more than the intended number of days.

the only thing they found was some red blood cells in my urine. The doctor prescribed me macrobid anyways...I havent taken them yet because it has almost completely gone away. I have been gorging myself with water, so i am hoping that it was only because i was dehydrated. Any suggestions? Should I take the macrobid anyways?

She started me on Macrobid and told me to take another test. When reading the leaflet for the home pregnancy test it says antibiotics can effect the resulst so should i take the test or wait till the antibiotics are done.

I have been on both macrobid and bactrim at different points during my pregnancy... I wasnt thrilled either time but my doctor reassured me many times that is was safe, much safer then not treating the infection. Trust me, im with you I really didnt want to take the med. But its not safe for baby to let the infection go, it can cause preterm labour and possible get to the baby.

I do know that the weakness and numbness in one side can be caused by the MS, but it did not occur until i took the macrobid. I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this? It is getting rather annoying and saddens me cause it feels like i cant do anymore what i like to. If anyone has had the same thing happen, please let me know im not alone... Did anyone take macrobid for uti during third trimester?

I had one for over a month and half with this pregnancy. I took two rounds of macrobid a 10day and a 7 day. Neither worked for me and I had to get a shot of rocephin. i have no clue if it can effect hcg levels or not.
