I am 16 wks. pregnant and my OB prescribed Macrobid for UTI, i had urinalysis and small amount of blood was noted. I told my OB that my urologist said that im always will have blood in my urine beacuse of hx. of cyst in my kidney so I requested to have urine culture prior to taking Macrobid, my OB is insistant to start the med. since it is going to take awhile for culture results to come back. so im already in my 4rt day of the meds.
Has anyone been perscribed, or taken macrobid at the ens of there pregnancy? I was proscribed it. I habe two different drs and im.being induced monday. And it DIRECTLY states dont use it 37 weeks or later or close to delivery. .. im scared and this pregnancy is so freaking hard on me. Im getting to the point of giving up. And i dont want to cause my boy and family need me to fight.
Are you pregnant? Macrobid is pregnancy category B--- used in pregnancy. Cipro, the gold standard is pregnancy category C--- not the best choice for someone who is pregnant. Amoxicillin isn't the best choice at all for a UTI based on the common bacteria that causes UTI's. Every infection is caused by a specific strain of bacteria. Some antibiotics are going to work better on different strains of bacteria.
Im currently 21 weeks pregnant and im taking 25mg of zoloft for my depression and anxiety and now i have kidney stones so im taking the antibiotic macrobid, phengran for nausea and tylenol 3 for the pain of the kidney stones my question is, is it ok to take these medications together im scared that taking all these meds will hurt my baby
Uti or bladder infection. My doctor proscribed me macrobid. Terrified to take it, anyone else had to use this while pregnant, I'm only 8 weeks!
t know if macrobid affects those tests but your pharmacist would know if you asked them (or could look it up).
Kidney disease at early stages has no symptoms. The first symptoms start happening at Stage 3. Dizziness and nausea can be caused by macrobid too (know that one from experience).
It may be worth following a kidney diet to see if you can't raise that number. It is something to keep an eye on, but nothing to get really worried about.
I've been told I have a UTI and was given Macrobid/Nitrofurantoin. I have taken 3 tablets but out of curiosity I looked them up on the internet and it said some women have lost their babies days after taking the tablets.
Has anyone taken these and had a healthy pregnancy?!

Well Idk about any of u but I get uti's when I get pregnant and this is my 3rd pregnancy I'm in and due in about 6 weeks and every time I get prescribed keflex and both my girls are fine and so is my son.
I guess it can be painful and invasive, so they use other methods initially for the diagnosis. But for me, after 8 years of tests, surgeries, and chronic symptoms of Myelopathy and Chiari Malformation, a nerve biopsy would have been the least of my worries.
To detect the nerve disorder, I had a Thermoregulatory Sweat Test, and an Autonomic Reflex Test which included a quantitative sudomotor axon reflex test, to diagnose damage to the small nerve fibers.
Hi.. has anyone else taken macrobid for uti?? Is it normal to feel horribly sick with it? How did you all deal with the nausea? My doc gave me reglan but it doesn't seem to be helping and I'm hardly half way with macrobid.. I've been non functional while taking it and it's getting worse every day.
Any advise on dealing with it will be appreciated..
The only thing I was ever told I could take for it since I was pregnant was Macrobid. You should call your doctor tomorrow and ask about the Macrobid. Also try drinking cranberry juice, or if you can't stand it (i can't) try the OTC cranberry pills, they should help just the same as the juice. I forget exactly how its supposed to help but it does. I’ve took 3 pregnancy test, 1 at home and 2 at the hospital and they all were negative. I’m currently taking Antibiotic Macrobid for my UTI and I was given 1 dose of naproxen At the hospital for my severe uti pain. Could any of this be the stopping my conception and implantation? My period is due in 6 days, what are the chances I can still be pregnant?
However, a week or 2 later, my frequent urination and irritation came back, and he put me on macrobid. This seemed to work a little for my urethral problems,but it worked A LOT for my testicle, which started to feel a lot better after weeks of pain. However, I finished the meds and still have many symptoms. He has now put me on cipro for 3 WEEKS and has no clue what's wrong dispite bladder utrasounds and scans. Any ideas?
