Common Questions and Answers about Lumigan rc product monograph

lumigan

Avatar m tn regarding Lumigan and others like it, have people experienced growth of eyebrows and hair elsewhere as well like scalp hair? or is there good understanding of the active ingredients, that they can also help brows and scalp hair too? I am not only thinning fair eyelashes, but also fair hair and eyebrows and in my 40s with only slight graying. so has lumigan been studied long enough to know if fair skinned/hair people get similar darkening and lenghtening benefits?

757137 tn?1347196453 It won't harm the eye or vision but side effects include redness and irritation on the eye and dark pigmentation around the edge of the lids. Plus the stuff is extremely expensive expect to pay about $120 per bottle. If you stop the meds they stop growning It works on most people, we've used it for years as lumigan for glaucoma. as with any medicine it doesn't work on everyone.
Avatar m tn Lumigan and latisse are the same chemical (bimatoprost). Latisse is suppose to be brushed into the lashes rather than put directly on the eye. All the medications in this group of glacoma medications stimulate eyelash growth: latanoprost (Xalatan brand name), Travatan-Z, Lumigan and Zioptan.
Avatar f tn hi am a trich sufferer. can i use normal lumigan eyedrops on my eyebrows, scalp and eyelashes? i dont have access to latisse.or is there any other medication that grows hair fast? can i use folligen? what are the adverse effects of using lumigan on eyes and eyebrows?
Avatar m tn Also beta blocker eye drops are not as strong, or as long lasting as lumigan and beta blockers do not work at night whereas lumigan does. If you had side effects on BB before you likely would again. So if lumigan once/day is working well why try something new that likely will not work as well.
Avatar m tn I have taken Lumigan for open Angle Glaucoma for a couple of years in one eye only. In April the ophthalmologist asked me to put them in both eyes. I have no problems with that and my IOP is well controlled. However, I noticed my PVC's have gone up considerably since taken the drops. At first with only one eye I had about 15,000 per day, now with drops in both eyes they have gone up to almost 30,000 per day. There where no other medication changes during that time.
Avatar n tn I have pseudo-exfoliation in left eye. Started out on xalatan, then switched over to Lumigan when I was Glaucoma Suspect with ocular pressure 21-30. Under control low 20's on Lumigan, optic nerve healthy, no visual fields defects on test 5 months ago. However, last visit hemorrhage on optic nerve found and added Alpgagan P to Lumigan, did not do a thing after 6 weeks, pressure 24 today. Dr.
Avatar n tn So I was taken off of the glaucoma medication alphagan because it was not working well and caused severe dry eye and floaters and then I was put on and am currently on lumigan 0.01% that helps the pressure but makes the dry eye and floaters still a problem. For the uveitis I am on pred Forte 0.01% and has caused a slight cataracts. For my dry eye syndrome, I am allergic to most of the things prescribed to me so I take preservative-free over the counter refresh tears four to six times a day.
12845664 tn?1427483649 I am using Lumigan (bimatoprost) 0.01% nightly. Cost under my Medicare coverage is pretty high (deductible plus copay). Bimatoprost 0.03% is now available as a generic. What potential problems am I inviting by asking my ophthalmologist to switch prescriptions and start using the 0.03%?
Avatar n tn No difference. Ingredients the same. Generic much less expensive. If you tolerate generic use it as it will save a lot of time/money. Latonprost is generally very well tolerated. That cannot be said of "Lumigan" a brand name prescription drop in the same family. Zioptan will be ultra expensive.
Avatar n tn Azopt is a great medicine but sometimes expensive. Lumigan I really dislike because it causes red, inflammed, irritated eye, permanent dark circles around the eyelids and orbital fat atrophy with sunken in eyes and droopy lids way too often. Travatan-A is much better, longer acting, lowers IOP more and doesn't cause near the side effects of Lumigan.
Avatar f tn org The glaucoma drops Xalatan, Lumigan and Travitan Z grown eyelashes in about 70% of the people that use them. The FDA has just approved a formulation of lumigan called Latisse for use to grow eyelashes.
Avatar m tn (I really need to re-quiz her on that) It is a shame, as it dramatically lowered my IOP - better than the Lumigan and Azopt I am on as well. I see from a more extensive web search that it is used very successfully after LASIK. as you mention, to improve halos and other aberrations in night driving, as it minimizes pupil dilation. Unfortunately for me, that same effect was not helpful, as I already have problems seeing in lower light, and the smaller pupil response wasn't a plus.
673754 tn?1226386753 Finally decided i needed a Root Canal. After having the RC done i was happy that the weeks of pain where finally over BUT i started to feel pain/pressure in the tooth next to the one I had just had the RC done on. when i tap or push on the that tooth i feel pressure, pushed at a different angle pain.
14757790 tn?1436375176 m sure, perhaps by a discription a Vet would sell you the ointment even without seeing the kitten this than would only be less than $20 if there is no reddness in and around the eye. than there is another product you can use that will work really good, its safe and many Vets use it too. its cheap but has to be ordered. I get mine from iherb.
Avatar f tn m not about to go against his advice!...so yes keep feeding the RC urinary diet as long as it is CANNED not the dry ever for a cat with urinary stones (FLUTD) 2.I found the renalzin, here its called Azodyl. its to support healthy kidney function and reduce toxin build up. 3.I don't agree with anyone claiming dry food is fine because they will drink water with it......no cats do NOT drink enough water to compensate for the lack of it in their diet. that is a false information.
Avatar m tn Anyone here know anything about zetia and its affect on the thyroid and or levo absorption? I have read it may affect absorption and the rx monograph says talk tp your doctor if you have thyroid disorders. He knows I am on synthroid, but I am curious how this drug affects it.
425483 tn?1219015247 I had a root canal in my upper molar about 2 years ago - I just went in to my dentist for a cleaning and because I had been having soreness in the area of the root canal. The X-ray revealed that I have a rather large infection (spread to the sinuses) under the root canal. She says I should have the RC redone, possibly even a bridge or implant - Unfortunately, I don't have insurance so this is not my favorite diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Remarkably, in 2007, Saunders and colleagues showed that L. reuteri RC-14 was able to disruptin vitro G. vaginalis biofilms (Saunders et al., 2007). Later, McMillan and colleagues demonstrated that probiotic L. reuteri RC-14 and L. rhamnosus GR-1 were able to incorporate themselves into BV-biofilm, composed by G. vaginalis and A. vaginae, causing both the disruption of the biofilm structure and bacterial cell death (McMillan et al., 2011).
Avatar f tn I have been advised by people in this forum to stop with the dry food and go over to wet only. The RC wet is sold in small envelopes and is very expensive. I wonder if I can give him another type of wet food as well? Another question: The supplement Cystease is now being substituted at our vets for another preparation called Renalzin. Is this the same? Will it help my cat with his urinary problems. He has been on Cystease for over a year. How long should he take it?
Avatar m tn When I had the cataract in my other eye removed last year I was prescribed Lumigan drops (along with other drops) after surgery. I have green eyes and everything I read worried me about my eye changing color which fortunately didn't happen. I am scheduled to have the other eye done next month and after researching it appears the Timolol could be used instead and I would not have to be worried about eye color.
460185 tn?1326077772 We also have younger dogs who play with the Akita and keep her active and less likely to get stiffness from arthritis. Also, I asked for a product monograph about the new meds just to be familiar with it. Like I said, I just love this dog and want to do the right things for her. She seems to be happy, eats and drinks well, plays, etc. Guess I just don't want to imagine being without her.
