It sounds unlikely, though, and since you'll probably never find an answer, I'd just forget it and move on. You are who you are now. You can always see a doctor and get checked for all the things that affect growth, but I'd bet it all comes out normal. And there's no way to tell all the genetic influences on you just by looking at others in your family.
Avatar f tn Maybe this medication is not working good for you?I sometimes it takes a while to find the right one...I am on lexapro 10mg and doing great on it....and I am on klonopin as needed...maybe it is better for you to go back to the dr and discuss it with him cause after 7 weeks being on it you should be feeling much better....I am like you about the stomach issues in the morning...I use to wake up with nausea and it was horrible untill I started on lexapro....

Avatar f tn well i have long term use of sleep meds masks other illnesses. i would like to ask whether the above dosage mask other illnesses (oz i suffer from all sorts of symptoms forgetfullness, sensations in feet, ear throat, crying, learning difficulty, fear, chest pain, burning throat, emotional less face etc) my doc says it is not addiction it is a necessity for you and you should continue whats yur take on it.
Avatar n tn If you later find that you need an antianxiety med, talk to your doctor about diazepam or one of the other long term meds. Valerian root is safe to take with Prozac. The herbs you must avoid with this med are St.John's wort, which can increase the risk of serotonin syndrome, and SAM-e. To avoid an anticholinergic effect, do not use corkwood or jimsonweed. To avoid an increase in CNS effects, avoid hops, kava and lavender.

I will also discuss this with my doc. I also have depression, eating disorder for which i was quarter of olanzapine and fluoxetine combine. coz my weight has shot up causing bp so i have stopped the meds for depression now.

Avatar f tn It can if it causes you to gain a lot of weight. As for long-term safety, that's impossible to answer. Some researchers say no, some say yes. Truth is, we don't really know, and it probably differs by the individual. But stress from anxiety and depression isn't safe either, so the question is, did you exhaust all non-medication treatments before going on medication and was your life so disrupted by your disorder that you needed medication.
Avatar m tn I know some psychiatrists speak of benzodiazepenes as being potentially addictive but I've taken Klonopin for years and not had a problem although a short acting anti-anxiety medication like Xanax is highly addictive and should not be used long term. Lunesta and Rozerem are safer as sleeping aids.

Avatar n tn If she is bipolar and she is taking Prozac without supervision its a very very dangerous place to be - SSRI drugs can cause mixed episodes in some people and those are the most dangerous of states so she really does need to see a doctor. Also note that long term SSRI use is also bad even in unipolars it can lead to symptomatic behavior, dependance and emotional blunting. Ultimately you need to only suggest one thing - see a psychiatrist and get diagnosed.

Avatar n tn thats gotta be rough , i ended up single right before i tried getting off of xanex and being alone and trying to get off is no fun at all , i am still in the process and its not easy but i can tell you that it will get better as long as you taper the klonopin , make sure you have some kind of support it is crucial in the weaning phase of klonopin you will need much moral support and if you dont have any use these forums often !!!!

Because, as you know, something is VERY, VERY WRONG, here. There ARE long-term effects. There IS permanent damage from HEAVY, CHRONIC abuse. There HAVE been suicides.

Avatar n tn First problem.. no one has any idea what this drug's long-term effects will be in children. It is new on the market and has never been tested in children in clinical trials. Second problem... The drug was developed, originally for treatment of depression in adults. The drug did not perform all that well in clinical trials but received FDA approval anyway.
