However, over the past few years I believe that ortho-tricylen has caused me to gain weight and feel extra anxious. My pill pack is ending this sunday and I was toying with the idea of stopping my birth control all together to see if the symptoms were indeed from ortho-tricylen. My ideal solution would be to find a pill with lower symptoms but this has stumped my gynecologist and primary physician, as a lower dose pill seems to cause spotting for me.

There are many new pills available in the market with lesser side effects of weight gain, mood changes etc.Birth control pill containing Drospirenone and ethinylestradiol may be helpful since they have lesser side effects. Drink plenty of water everyday and avoid oily fried foods to prevent acne. For more queries and assistance do consult your gynecologist before starting any new pill. Keep me posted.
This is one of my biggest fears, because I used to be a bit heavier and never want to go back to that. I am just SO nervous that I am going to gain weight and my running will be negatively impacted on the lo loestrin fe. Does anyone know if lo loestrin fe causes any weight gain or does anyone have any positive/negative experience with it?
myself on the otherhand i was on the pill for 5 years and the only side effects I had was my period became shorter and less heavy (thank god) before BC i had my period for 7-8 days straight with heavy bleeding and clotting so the pill worked for me and helped a lot
so youll never really know how your bodys going to react until you actually take it..
I started Lo Loestrin Fe oral birth control pill on January 14, 2014 after being off of it since Thanksgiving of 2013. Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe.
I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill.
Depression, mood swings, food craving, weight gain, bloating, and lack of lubrication. My doctor is switching my pills to one with a higher hormone level. She says I am feeling bad because my pills are not strong enough. I start the new ones Sunday and am hoping for the best. Two things that will definitely help are more protein in your diet and exercise. This will keep your blood sugar levels more stable and energy level higher.
Interesting. Did you have weight gain issues? I ask because I don't (and when I do gain weight, it's in my legs- I have permanent cankles regardless of my weight).
2/ Is it common to GAIN weight while taking Synthroid? If so, how hard to go back to normal weight and after how long?
3/ Is it more difficult to get pregnant while on Synthroid?
4/ Is it a given that once someone start taking Synthroid (or any other thyroid med for hypo), it's for life?
5/ should i have my baby tested for thyroid problems?

My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! hey hun, so how did everything sort out? Hormones are a tricky thing, they can do all kinds of weird things to our body. I was prescribed lo loestrin as well to treat endo, and i'm not sure if I should take it.
I have been on Lexapro several times over the last 4 years for 6 months to 2 years at a time. I am having problems with the sexual side effects and the weight gain. It's actually less of a "weight gain" than a shift in body composition. My pants are too tight and my shirts are more fitted but I haven't actually gained a pound. I am a competitive runner and haven't changed my exercise or eating habits over the last 2 years.
It comparatively has lesser side effects and light menstrual cycles and less risk of endometrial and ovarian cancer. When taken as directed it is almost 92-99.7% effective. Whether a particular pill will cause side effects or not cannot be predicted. The response varies in every woman.If you are doubtful contact your gynecologist and discuss your concerns. Loestrin 20 tablets contain two active ingredients, ethinylestradiol and norethisterone. But it is not without side effects which include nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, enlargement, changes in menstrual bleeding, breakthrough bleeding, rise in blood pressure, gall stones and increased chances of blood clots.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
The weight gain no doubt is due to fluid retention which is one of the side effects. You might discuss changing drugs with your Oncologist as there are others available but keep in mind that they all have similar side effecfts even though you mjight not experience them to the same degree.
