I was on lo loestrin fe for about 10 days off and on because I either forgot, or I just couldn't take the side effects any longer. I got my period shortly after of course (2 weeks before it was due) that was last month. The husband and I have had unprotected sex, and I'm 4 days late. But on the first day I took a cheap pregnancy test and it was negative. Is this normal after such a short time on the pill, or should I test again?
I started Lo Loestrin Fe oral birth control pill on January 14, 2014 after being off of it since Thanksgiving of 2013. Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe.
I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill.
I was on Loestrin 24 Fe for 5 months but my doctor switched me to Lo Loestrin 24 Fe because she thought I needed a lower dose, as I kept getting recurring yeast infections. The first month that I was on Lo Loestrin I got my period, very short and very light for about 2-3 days. This month I delayed my period by a week because I was going on vacation. So when it got to the placebo pill I just took a week of "active pills" from another pack.
I have also gained a good 10-15 pounds since starting the pill up, which I have read is a common side-effect for Loestrin. The effects from the pill have me thinking that I am pregnant, even though everything else states that I am not. Between these effects and my horrible, horrible anxiety, I decided to go off the pill. Initially, the first couple days after stopping in the middle of my pack, I felt better. The swelling in my breasts went down and I had more energy.
So my doc put me on Lo Loestrin Fe ....anyone else ever take this? Or have bad side effects?
I a little nervous cuz I've never takin birth control b4. I don't want to not be able to loose the rest of this weight. Plus I feel our family is complete now with 3 girls and our boy but dont feel comfortable doing anything permanent.

With any hormonal contraceptive, you are going to have some side effects, so the way to go about choosing which to use, is to choose the one the is the best trade off for you (eg. the side effects for the contraceptive benefit).
Finally, because you used the method before with no problems, SOME of your symptoms may be situational too--so consider some stress reduction!

Have any of you guys experienced this issue? I'm on a Lo Loestrin Fe, the smallest dose, I've been on it for about 2-3 months now, the first month was fine, no spotting. I'm supposed to take the bc continuously. When I got to the placebo pills and skipped them, I started spotting lightly around that time, about a panty liner a day of brownish discharge. Ever since then it hasn't stopped. It''s been over a month of the same kind of spotting.
I just started a new birth control pill called lo loestrin fe. I was on a higher dose birth control but having some side effects so i switched to this one. This was my first month of taking this pill and have gone through the entire pack and did not get my period (i am 2 days into the new pack). I've finally found a doctor that takes me seriously and agrees that I have all the classic symptoms of endo. Along with a family history and during the exam she thought she felt the "bands" where it had attached itself. Of course the only way to be sure is surgery but she wants to do the less envasive first......birthcontrol. I really like my new doctor but I can't help but be nervous about the side effects.
However, over the past few years I believe that ortho-tricylen has caused me to gain weight and feel extra anxious. I just need suggestions for birth control pills that are good for people who are extremely sensitive to hormones. Hi, i have been on lo loestrin fe for 1 month. Today i am taking second brown pill, which is also the last one...i feel menstrual pain for a few days, but no menstruation. I am worried! Is pregnancy possible if i had intercourse with my bf (while i was on the pill) but he had never ejaculated inside? It is written that lo loestrin fe is protecting you from the first day if u are starting on the first day of your period. Thats how i did. But why is my period not coming?
