Common Questions and Answers about Loestrin make you gain weight

loestrin

Avatar m tn I am just SO nervous that I am going to gain weight and my running will be negatively impacted on the lo loestrin fe. Does anyone know if lo loestrin fe causes any weight gain or does anyone have any positive/negative experience with it?
Avatar f tn I asked my dr during my last annual about switching...commercials make you curious...and she did not recommend it at all. Make sure you ask if the generic is cryselle (my pack doesn't say). With hormone issues its definately been the best for me. You'll know within the first month or two if it works for you. Good luck!
Avatar m tn Interesting. Did you have weight gain issues? I ask because I don't (and when I do gain weight, it's in my legs- I have permanent cankles regardless of my weight).
Avatar f tn Both low-dose and continuous cycle birth control can contribute to spotting. If you tell your doctor your experiences and concerns about weight gain, they may able find one that hits the sweet spot.
Avatar f tn Any major side effects I should be worried about...I was reading that it causes bigger breast, weight gain, and low sex drive...is that true for anyone else who has taken it?
Avatar f tn I think your just spotting, instead of having a real period you will most likely have a spotting kind of period.or no period.at all thats exactly what the lolo does. Thats most of the cases while using the lolo. Thats why most women loove it. Wait until the last of the month to take a test and if it cmes out negative then you are not pregnant. Just keep taking the pill and if you arent planning on having a baby keep using it .
Avatar f tn im gettin the implanon again just had my baby 5 days ago...
Avatar f tn However, over the past few years I believe that ortho-tricylen has caused me to gain weight and feel extra anxious. My pill pack is ending this sunday and I was toying with the idea of stopping my birth control all together to see if the symptoms were indeed from ortho-tricylen. My ideal solution would be to find a pill with lower symptoms but this has stumped my gynecologist and primary physician, as a lower dose pill seems to cause spotting for me.
8550901 tn?1400740690 Okay so...I was on the needle. The only way you can avoid gaining weight is to watch what you eat. But before you go on it...you need to be at your ideal weight and not want to lose any because it will be next to impossible. It doesn't make you gain but you can't lose it. I had no period and my skin cleared up massively.
Avatar m tn I am not experiencing any weight gain, breast tenderness, nausea, or change in appetitie. I have heard this is due to the type of birth control that I am on, because it only has 2 days of placebo pills, all the rest are active pills. Please help??
Avatar m tn They stayed pretty big, wavering depending on my weight loss or gain, but overall I stayed around the same weight (I never actually lost/gained enough to change dress sizes). However, now that it's been 5 years since I started on this pill I notice my breasts have actually gone back down to what they were originally. I am so upset! I am actually OK with my current size, but I'll be really upset if they get any smaller. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn Depression, mood swings, food craving, weight gain, bloating, and lack of lubrication. My doctor is switching my pills to one with a higher hormone level. She says I am feeling bad because my pills are not strong enough. I start the new ones Sunday and am hoping for the best. Two things that will definitely help are more protein in your diet and exercise. This will keep your blood sugar levels more stable and energy level higher.
Avatar n tn Hi there, I may be able to advise the exact treatment only after I examine you. There are many new pills available in the market with lesser side effects of weight gain, mood changes etc.Birth control pill containing Drospirenone and ethinylestradiol may be helpful since they have lesser side effects. Drink plenty of water everyday and avoid oily fried foods to prevent acne. For more queries and assistance do consult your gynecologist before starting any new pill. Keep me posted.
1674462 tn?1304114750 I did not gain any weight and did not have any bloating with the pill. I loved it. I was put on the pill at 16 due to severe menstrual cramping. I def. recommend that pill.
Avatar n tn So, it can affect your weight. However, many do not gain weight on it. I think you have to think about he devastation of an unplanned pregnancy. Birth control is a GOOD thing when you think of that. But it can for some women have some side effects. I didn't have any myself. But some do.
Avatar n tn If your GERD causes you to feel nauseous...sure it will cause weight loss. Who wants to eat when they feel sick to their stomache? Are you taking medication for GERD? You could drink "Ensure" to add calories and protien. Ask your doctor what you should eat to bring the weight back on. I would think just the mere thought of having GERD after every meal...I would cut back on eating :( I feel your frustration. Good luck...I hope you get back to your "normal" self soon!
Avatar f tn One that is very common is inability to sleep. Weight loss is up there as well as weight gain. Anti depression meds can cause a variety of symptoms but from what I read its a minority of people.
Avatar f tn I waz on and i had a reaction to it its got an ingredient in it and caused me to lactate not bein pregnant and zyprexa i gained alot of weight like 20lb in a month
5032487 tn?1365824021 I use Abilify which is supposed to be weight neutral, but I gained 35 lbs when I first took it. Now I have a solution to prevent weight gain no matter what I am on. I am on a grain- free diet and I rarely get hunger pangs. If I do, it is because I am truly hungry and need to eat. I have to try to eat enough calories in a day. Give it a try.
Avatar f tn thank you for your response. I wish more people gave their experiences as well :/ Which birth controls have you tried before that seemed to work though, aside from controlling pain? Because I have assymptomatic endo, even though it's severe, weird huh? so I want to find birth control that will do the job for suppression, without giving me horrible SE like weight gain, depression etc. Thanks for all your answers!
Avatar f tn myself on the otherhand i was on the pill for 5 years and the only side effects I had was my period became shorter and less heavy (thank god) before BC i had my period for 7-8 days straight with heavy bleeding and clotting so the pill worked for me and helped a lot so youll never really know how your bodys going to react until you actually take it..
Avatar f tn I got diagnosed both with ultrasound and blood test. My blood test showed normal, but I had cysts. If you do a google search on PCOS you will find lots of info. I read on one site that you don't have to have cysts to be diagnosed. I believe its hereditary. My mom was thin and had irregular periods and had it. I had irregular periods since I started my period and have been active all my live and was always dieting and no matter what, I just kept gaining and gaining weight.
