1425608 tn?1320894142 ve had many bladder instillations with lidocaine and sodium bicarb. They never really worked for me. Has your doctor done a cystoscopy? That would help determine if you have IC.
Avatar m tn I read that lidocaine can cause a seizure. I have had injections many times with no problem. What could have gone wrong? Avatar f tn I'm a 24 yr old. I was diagnosed with IC when I was 18. I had ongoing utis everyday. I went had installs done by a uroglist they seemed to help. I haven't seen him in years I ate and drank anything I wanted and no flare at all. til about 14-15 weeks ago. I had sex with my bf so I think that might of caused the flare. I went to a new urologist he prescribes me elmiron 2 times a day. and stick to a diet. which I have.
383138 tn?1314167773 I read later, it is common for women to have rt chest pain with a heart attack. Then, the well documented irregular heart beat with lidocaine. Now, I am certain that is what happened. It has scared me so badly (even though the pain relief was great). By the way, there was no mention of possible fatal side effects before hand. The pain relief will not help at all, if I am dead. So, if your cardiologist says NO.. That would definitely be my answer. NO.
Avatar f tn suffering from severe trapped wind/bloating as soon as i lie down in bed, have to take bicarb of soda, which takes a while to work,i dont get to sleep until 2-4am& exhausted.have had gall bladder removed & endopscopy for this problem to no avail.these are what ive tried ; keeping a food diary(no pattern) accupressure, massage, mebverine, remegel, colpermine, buscopan, gaviscon, mint tea, ginger tea, gripe water, charcoal, domperidon, plain boiled water!
Avatar f tn Since you say the AZO helps it must be urinary and could be IC however it is unusual that you do not have pain with intercourse. Though truthfully after I was diagnosed with IC, I used to tell my friends my cycle etc. were no big deal BUT once we got symptoms better controlled I realized I had gotten used to to s certain level of constant pain!! I think back now and realized that with sex I also had thought some after feelings just normal too.
168348 tn?1379357075 It actually has the same active ingredient as Prilosec, but without the dairy and has sodium bicarb as a buffer. It is approved for Pediatric use, but I can't find the exact ages.
Avatar f tn ve had quite a few stellate ganglion blocks and have had some success. They thought the lidocaine infusion might help the other pain I deal with and kill two (or more) birds at the same time so to speak. KittKat23-78, Sorry the infusion didn't help you!! I hadn't heard about having several a few days apart; I'll have to ask about it. Mine is (at least one) being paid for by worker's comp. I'm hopeful but also trying to keep things realistic and in perspective.
Avatar f tn ve been doing the sitz baths three times a day too, with ravensara, bergamot and tea-tree essential oils, along with more bicarb. This proved to be really soothing. I did force myself to drink more herbal teas and water - I've been drinking Lemon Balm and Echinacea teas mostly. I was able to wear loose pants for the first time today and am starting to feel much better now :) Still a little bit of a sore throat, but it didn't develop into anything else thank goodness!
1571533 tn?1322943509 Hey. I went to my PCP yesterday and he gave me a LIDODERM, a lidocaine patch, to try and help with the pain in my neck -he thinks if that calms down so will the migraines.. theyve been everyday constantly for well over a month and a half, and no meds help.. nor do therapeutic methods i have here at home.. Has anyone here used it before? And did it help? I tried to use it last night but it wouldnt stick to my neck.

I attempted to cut and split the nail with razor blade but once i got part way thru nail it hurt bad. my co-worker gave me a new 10ml bottle of lidocaine, he uses it to give himself stitches. advice as to where to put the needle (i got from cvs insulin 31g-8mm),what to expect ie: will it burn- how long b4 its numb, and if i split the nail will it grow back? any advice will help..
5875562 tn?1410898886 does anyone know whats really good to stop nausea and heart burn cuz i cant deal with it nomore
Avatar f tn I never had it with my son but its revolting don't blame you for being sick with it yuck
Avatar n tn Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.
Avatar f tn There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
Avatar m tn Oetker Bicarb is not that expensive. Do not get baking powder or raising powder - these are a mix of bicarb with Cream of Tarta (a powder to stablize egg whites). Because there are so many uses for it and you have access to a computer, I thought it better you look at the web links rather than me copy and paste such a lot of information. I have copied and pasted the links below regarding Bicarb http://www.buzzle.com/articles/bicarbonate-of-soda.html http://www.ehow.
159063 tn?1247272817 The set up comes with packets of salt and a sodium bicarb (baking soda) combination. The sodium bicarb acts as a buffer so when you full on squirt into one nostril and it squirts out the other side - it does not sting as bad. I do recommend doing this in the shower because it gets quite messy. I did it twice a day and finally on day two my sinuses started to drain. I am on day four and almost completly resolved.
673999 tn?1226935279 The new standard inoffice bladder instillation for IC is Lidocaine instillation with bicarbonate solution. The lidocaine is a local anesthetic and the bicarbonate allows the lidocaine to penetrate the bladder wall to get to the bladder nerves. Lidocaine without the bicarbonate solution has only minimal bladder wall penetration and very short duration of action (minutes to an hour).
Avatar f tn More info if you have any would be great! Dont they cut cocaine with like benzocaine, or lidocaine, or something like that? If anyone knows? Yea, stop the coke though, every bit of Coke that makes it to your heart tissue, it kills it instantly!
Avatar m tn Did you get Bicarb to drink while they did the Barium swallow xrays (normally done post-op day 2)? that would explain the diarrhea. I only had the Barium to drink and that got as solid as sement! The recovery period for Nissen Fundo patients are 3 months and as Flycaster said: you need to follow the recommended diet.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am 30yrs old, currently staying in India with my husband and I have developed what I believe is a UTI. I've never had one before. My last period ended about 4 days ago. And now this has come on suddenly. I woke up in the morning and went to pee and felt a strong burning or stinging sensation and I felt like I couldn't empty my bladder completely. Of course I immediately looked up the symptoms online, but I don't have all of what they describe.
Avatar f tn ve been drinking half to one tsp bicarb soda mixed with half a cup of water before bed. Nothing else was working but this gets me through half the night heartburn free. (It can slightly raise blood pressure, so if your b.p. is already very high, not a good idea, but mine is very low, so no risks there.) Can you sleep on more pillows so you're a little more upright? Might not stop the pain but might stop the vomiting...
Avatar n tn I too was diagnosed with Sluders by having a lidocaine-soaked pledget applied between the contact point. I have a deviated septum with a spur, and the spur is in constant contact with the turbinate (and nerve bundle) on the opposite side. So I am in pain almost all of the time. I am making my appt. for surgery this week and am hoping that this cures my horrendous facial pain. This is no way to live.
14051 tn?1238251732 So, with that said, This morning, I had the same effects with the steroid/Lidocaine injection in my right hip/Trochanter as I did prior to the hardware removal. I immediately felt a sharp pain in the right side of my back when the doctor realeased the first part of the medicine, then I could feel fast relief in my right foot, leg, hip, groin, back. My doctor has no answers as to why it relieved the other pains. This again lasted only for 45 minutes.
Avatar m tn I got prescribed Norco, lidocaine patches, and diclofenac 75 mg. Yesterday I took Norco and I put a lidocaine patch and I woke up with weird heart sensation, like slow heart rate or something. Could it be caused by lidocaine patch? I also take the following medication: Atorvastatin Calcium 80 Mg- 1 tab in the evening Carvedilol 6.
Avatar m tn Also, the lidocaine was with nystatin as a swish and swallow to treat oral thrush after several courses of antibiotics. Not sure if that matters or not.
