168348 tn?1379357075 It actually has the same active ingredient as Prilosec, but without the dairy and has sodium bicarb as a buffer. It is approved for Pediatric use, but I can't find the exact ages.
Avatar n tn Sodium Carbonate. Used in manufacturing of Health and Nutritional products. What is the purpose and if you have high blood pressure, will this be a negative product to ingest.
Avatar f tn I catheterize the instillations daily at home...it gives me some sort of life..use lidocaine...heparin...and sodium bicarb...I can do tjis 3 times a day... Ive been ordering my catheters from Liberator for some years now...my insurance covers it..it also helps when I spasm and cant empty...cuts you down to maybe evey 45 min instead of every 15 in a flare...hope this helps...Flares are common...no rhyme or reason...in my book..and I was diagnosed in 1992...still alive and kicking..still in pain..
159063 tn?1247272817 The set up comes with packets of salt and a sodium bicarb (baking soda) combination. The sodium bicarb acts as a buffer so when you full on squirt into one nostril and it squirts out the other side - it does not sting as bad. I do recommend doing this in the shower because it gets quite messy. I did it twice a day and finally on day two my sinuses started to drain. I am on day four and almost completly resolved.
Avatar f tn They both can have effects on the heart, adrenalin has an obvious effect and lidocaine is actually an antiarrhythmic drug (class 1b sodium blocker) which may have proarrhythmic effects. The problem is - adrenalin is added to prevent the lidocaine from having systemic effects, the blood vessels are constricted. If you have reactions towards lidocaine, choosing the one without adrenalin would be bad.
Avatar m tn I've gotten a heat rash under my armpits and deodorant really irritated it. I suggest you switch to baking soda (sodium bicarb) or baby powder for a couple days. It'll help soak up excess moisture without adding tons of chemicals. You might also want to try adding a hot rag to it, the heat can help with the pain.
1510755 tn?1290097190 after arriving the doctors said it was more than likely reflux and was going to send us home i was not happy with that so i demanded blood tests it came back that kodie was acidic so we were put into a ward and sodium bicarbonate was given to neutralise his blood which seemed to have worked we were eventually sent home but had to return for further tests the second visit we noticed kodies eyes were not right he seemed to want to look only to the right so therapy started we came at him on the lef
Avatar f tn My instills are not DMSO but lidocaine, marcain, solu cortef, sodium bicarb and if I am fighting infection gentamician. I also have instills made with MSM, which is like DMSO without the pain and the smell! Even though DMSO is the only medication approved by the FDA for IC.., more of us and most doctors are now using the rescue instills like mine instead. Some do get relief for DMSO but usually the symptoms get worse intially!
Avatar n tn About 600ml per hour and then I became dizzy and disorientated. I had to go to hospital I thought I was going to die. I had given myself water intoxication as my sodium had gone dangerously low. I was given antibiotics and have continued to drink frequently. Last night I got the same dizzy episode so went to hospital again, low potassium this time even though I hadn't drank that much.
673999 tn?1226935279 One is Lidocaine 2 % Gel, Marccain, Kenalog and Heprin. The second is 1% Injectable Lidocaine, Sodium Bicarbonate and they add your Elmiron. I've had both extensively and found them to be a tremendous help. You'll need to see a doctor in The Urology Group. Some of the doctors are better with IC than others, read their bios on their website and look for one the mentions female urology not prostrate surgery. Here's the URL to their website http://www.theurologygroup.cc/index.asp.

Avatar f tn Drinking the bicarb and lemon water, wiill also stop the burning, because it neutralises the acidic urine.
Avatar n tn Hello Dear, Lidocaine blocks conduction of nerve impulses by decreasing neuronal membrane's permeability of sodium ions, which results in inhibition of depolarization and blockade of conduction. Intranasal administration of lidocaine drops requires specific and, for many patients, difficult technique. The dose is 4%solution intranasally.
Avatar m tn Yes you may be right about that. And I think this question may describe an unusual situation or application of the concepts. It is one thing to answer the question wrong on the exam; another to have to make a hard decision in real life without supportive, expert guidance. I wonder which it is here. According to wiki, a person in hemodynamically unstable VT should be cardioverted before receiving amiodarone.
Avatar f tn But I can tell you thay lidocaine infusions is a fairly safe procedurediagnostic, which means it is used to assess your pain and then determine further treatment. Lidocaine is one type of medication, called a sodium channel blocker, that can be used to relieve pain. A lidocaine infusion quickly determines if sodium channel blockers will be the right choice for your daughter. It sounds like they are looking for the best way to treat her pain.
Avatar m tn This can't be a mental thing (as I have believed for years), I'm open to it being my mind thinking I'm hungry, but just don't think it is anymore. What if it's irritation. What can I do to stop it. Even the sodium-bicarb is not enough. Someone suggested aloe juice (didn't work) If it is irritation, the sodium-bicarb is an ant-acid but also sodium, so it would also irritate after it neutralizes right?
Avatar m tn I have suffered with IC for many years but have been diagnosed for the last 4. Though I do not live pain free or symptom free I do have an aersonal of coping tools that control my symptoms. There are no surgeries to permanatly cure IC. The only surgeries I am aware of for IC are hydrodestention, which gives some patients a few months of relief after the healing period, and the extreme total bladder removal.
Avatar f tn Hi I've had excessive wind in my stomach that won't go away for a month now. I've been prescribed nexium and antacid pills which caused me to have insomnia. I read on the net that if you boil fennel seed in water until it sinks to the bottom - drink the water it will make you burp and fart. I've been doing that and it has helped alot. I am now trying the supplements : vitality-6 and florify, a probiotic from a company called melaleuca from the US.

Avatar f tn I was 23 years old when I first got a lump under my arm and it got so big and very painful, I went to the doctor and he told me I had an infection in something under my arm, but he punctured the lump and all this pus started coming out. (green pus). He fussed at me saying that this is poisonous and I shouldn't have waited so long to come in. It was from the deodorant and I have tried different brands, different kinds and they all have the same effect.
384896 tn?1335294331 That s*cks! :) I get horrible heartburn but zantac, and all that works fine for me. The antacids don't do so well, and if I take Prilosec 1 pill will work for 2-3 days for me. And The other member was right, baking soda is a great thing to use too. When my son got so sick in NICU and his actual blood got too acidic they gave him "sodium bicarb" or Baking soda.
Avatar n tn rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and osteoarthritis of the knees, hands and hips. People who have stomach issues from taking anti-inflammatories by mouth can bypass that problem with Voltaren gel. Endo Pharmaceuticals, the maker of Voltaren 1% gel, is the sole supplier and they have released a statement that Voltaren gel is on back order and they cannot estimate a release date. Hmm.
Avatar f tn So I have really bad vaginismus to the point where intercourse can only be done with a lot of lidocaine and with the help of dilators. I am 15 weeks pregnant and concerned about delivery. Will my vaginismus prevent me from vaginal delivery? Is anyone else dealing with or has dealt with this??
1485372 tn?1359545131 When I had severe low sodium levels I was placed on fluid restriction. No more than 24 oz of liquid per day. It was terrible but it worked and I.lived that way for 7 yrs until they found what caused it.
