168348 tn?1379357075 It actually has the same active ingredient as Prilosec, but without the dairy and has sodium bicarb as a buffer. It is approved for Pediatric use, but I can't find the exact ages.
Avatar n tn Sodium Carbonate. Used in manufacturing of Health and Nutritional products. What is the purpose and if you have high blood pressure, will this be a negative product to ingest.
Avatar f tn and sodium bicarb...I can do tjis 3 times a day... Ive been ordering my catheters from Liberator for some years now...my insurance covers it..it also helps when I spasm and cant empty...cuts you down to maybe evey 45 min instead of every 15 in a flare...hope this helps...Flares are common...no rhyme or reason...in my book..and I was diagnosed in 1992...still alive and kicking..still in pain..but still getting through everyday one day at a time..on those days you think you cant survive the pain..
Avatar m tn Oetker Bicarb is not that expensive. Do not get baking powder or raising powder - these are a mix of bicarb with Cream of Tarta (a powder to stablize egg whites). Because there are so many uses for it and you have access to a computer, I thought it better you look at the web links rather than me copy and paste such a lot of information. I have copied and pasted the links below regarding Bicarb http://www.buzzle.com/articles/bicarbonate-of-soda.html http://www.ehow.
159063 tn?1247272817 The set up comes with packets of salt and a sodium bicarb (baking soda) combination. The sodium bicarb acts as a buffer so when you full on squirt into one nostril and it squirts out the other side - it does not sting as bad. I do recommend doing this in the shower because it gets quite messy. I did it twice a day and finally on day two my sinuses started to drain. I am on day four and almost completly resolved.
Avatar m tn I've gotten a heat rash under my armpits and deodorant really irritated it. I suggest you switch to baking soda (sodium bicarb) or baby powder for a couple days. It'll help soak up excess moisture without adding tons of chemicals. You might also want to try adding a hot rag to it, the heat can help with the pain.
Avatar f tn It was from the deodorant and I have tried different brands, different kinds and they all have the same effect. I am 40 now and still dealing with this because I can not go without deodorant. I use very little everyday, so the lump doesn't come but every so often now. And the times I don't have to go anywhere I won't use deodorant at all.
1510755 tn?1290097190 that was not caused by the sodium bicarb, your son should be investigated for metabolic disease and caseine / milk plus glutein / wheat, must be well studied and then maybe stopped. did they ruled out metabolic diseases causing cp...
Avatar f tn My instills are not DMSO but lidocaine, marcain, solu cortef, sodium bicarb and if I am fighting infection gentamician. I also have instills made with MSM, which is like DMSO without the pain and the smell! Even though DMSO is the only medication approved by the FDA for IC.., more of us and most doctors are now using the rescue instills like mine instead. Some do get relief for DMSO but usually the symptoms get worse intially!
Avatar n tn The doctor at the hospital said it is just the irritation and it will go away but it seems to be getting worse. They have given me some sachets to drink with which is essentially bicarb soda and they're not making a blind bit of difference. I am having panic attacks because of the pain and anxiety related to the fear of drinking too much water which I can't do any more so chugging back water isn't an option either. I feel miserable and don't know what to do.
Avatar f tn Most people with AI have to avoid potassium so the buffering with potassium may be an issue. So a copy of a few of your tests would show if your sodium is low and potassium is low or high. The tablets I take are just sodium and are 1 gram so I get a big zap. My doc tells me to take one twice a day, and then as needed when I sweat etc. I have also seen a cardiologist so not a bad idea. Some people also get bad generic hydrocortisone.
673999 tn?1226935279 The new standard inoffice bladder instillation for IC is Lidocaine instillation with bicarbonate solution. The lidocaine is a local anesthetic and the bicarbonate allows the lidocaine to penetrate the bladder wall to get to the bladder nerves. Lidocaine without the bicarbonate solution has only minimal bladder wall penetration and very short duration of action (minutes to an hour).
Avatar n tn Then in the last 4 days the naseau started after lunch. Note I have been eating large salads for lunch with one bbq meal I tried eating dinner within the last 4 days but within the last 2 days I cannot eat dinner. I dont vomit but I do feel a bit of chest pressure and last night I had 2 cups of water but could not eat.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am 30yrs old, currently staying in India with my husband and I have developed what I believe is a UTI. I've never had one before. My last period ended about 4 days ago. And now this has come on suddenly. I woke up in the morning and went to pee and felt a strong burning or stinging sensation and I felt like I couldn't empty my bladder completely. Of course I immediately looked up the symptoms online, but I don't have all of what they describe.
Avatar n tn Hello Dear, Lidocaine blocks conduction of nerve impulses by decreasing neuronal membrane's permeability of sodium ions, which results in inhibition of depolarization and blockade of conduction. Intranasal administration of lidocaine drops requires specific and, for many patients, difficult technique. The dose is 4%solution intranasally.
Avatar m tn I read that lidocaine can cause a seizure. I have had injections many times with no problem. What could have gone wrong? This discussion is related to Lidocaine induced seizure during dental procedure.
Avatar f tn But do you think lidocaine infusions will help her along with meds? Her pain is located in a t shirt pattern (not on her chest area). We have literally been everywhere, just thought I would ask your advice.
Avatar m tn This can't be a mental thing (as I have believed for years), I'm open to it being my mind thinking I'm hungry, but just don't think it is anymore. What if it's irritation. What can I do to stop it. Even the sodium-bicarb is not enough. Someone suggested aloe juice (didn't work) If it is irritation, the sodium-bicarb is an ant-acid but also sodium, so it would also irritate after it neutralizes right?
383138 tn?1314167773 I read later, it is common for women to have rt chest pain with a heart attack. Then, the well documented irregular heart beat with lidocaine. Now, I am certain that is what happened. It has scared me so badly (even though the pain relief was great). By the way, there was no mention of possible fatal side effects before hand. The pain relief will not help at all, if I am dead. So, if your cardiologist says NO.. That would definitely be my answer. NO.
Avatar f tn s water bowl from here on, just to try and keep sodium content down (tap/faucet water often has sodium in it). Also, be aware of any foods being given (treats particularly) that are high in sodium. Total Protein is within normal levels. Albumin is extremely high ... please double check this to make sure it is 29 and not 2.9. If it is 29, then this indicates severe dehydration as the most likely cause.
Avatar m tn I have suffered with IC for many years but have been diagnosed for the last 4. Though I do not live pain free or symptom free I do have an aersonal of coping tools that control my symptoms. There are no surgeries to permanatly cure IC. The only surgeries I am aware of for IC are hydrodestention, which gives some patients a few months of relief after the healing period, and the extreme total bladder removal.
384896 tn?1335294331 That s*cks! :) I get horrible heartburn but zantac, and all that works fine for me. The antacids don't do so well, and if I take Prilosec 1 pill will work for 2-3 days for me. And The other member was right, baking soda is a great thing to use too. When my son got so sick in NICU and his actual blood got too acidic they gave him "sodium bicarb" or Baking soda.
Avatar m tn I suffer from neck trauma and whenever my neck is in extreme pain I get horrible headaches that go with it. I have been prescribed and taken Hydrocodone 5/500. It helps but however I do like the acetaminophen besides I don't like how my vision feels on it because it reminds me of that feeling of being on Tylenol.
