There are other ways to evaluate for increased ICP on your MRI such as looking for space between certain brain structures which helps us tell if there is swelling.
It would be higly recommended to have your LP done. If you are very concerned still you can have your neurologist take off only the bare minimum fluid required to evaluate your lesions. Your body will make the same amount of CSF taken off within an hour.

i used to have sudden onsets of severe headaches and nausea i think caused by increased icp due to chiari, my mri showed signs of increase icp and benign tonsillar ectopia (chiari zero). In general, not in your case in particular, but in general, a headache that is triggered by prolonged lying down, such as a morning headache, could be a sign of increased pressure in the brain (what is medically termed increased intracranial pressure or ICP). Such headaches typically improve after sitting or standing for some time.

I've had the same issues with my vision. I have one particular spot in my left eye that blurs from time to time. Mine comes when I have increased pressure in my head. I had it before surgery and even after (but that's when I had ICP). Pressure changes happen to me before storms or when the temperature drops quickly. (and before hurricanes!) It comes and goes for me. I was on Diamox for ICP and a pseudo meningocele 2 months after surgery.
There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
After a while that would need to be addressed, but you doctor might feel like this collection of fluid is just fall less of a worry than your increased ICP most likely was. a lumbar spine MRI, .....testing for related conditions like ICP, POTS,tethered cord, ehlers-danlos, sleep apnea...and look at vitamin and mineral levels...vit D, B12, and magnesium and potassium tend to be low for many of us and can cause some of the same symptoms we deal with....
Make sure you get copies of ALL testing including reports.....
And make sure you get a true Chiari specialist...
ICP waves are seen with increased intracranial pressure. Your pressure wave may be a C wave. This type of ICP wave correlates with blood pressure (which can rise due to anger) and respiration.

I am a 25 year old female and I had a seizure while having dental work done about 3 weeks ago. I had been given lidocaine and nitrous oxide. Following the appointment, I went to a neurologist and had a CT scan and an MRI done. Both showed no brain abnormalities. I had eclampsia 4 years ago and had seizures which resulted in the early delivery of my child. Aside from my seizures 4 years ago, I had no previous history of seizure disorder.
And this time the pain has remained persistent and has been worsening day by day for the past 6 days, pain increases dramatically from exercise or an increased heart rate.
My MRI taken 2 days ago, my results come out in a week... so I am a bit worried after reading up on ICP.

could that enlarged part of my brain be causing me to have Intracranial pressure? Am I really experiencing Intracranial pressure?
I am terrified of needles too and I FELT NOTHING.. They used Buffered Lidocaine injection which I did not feel any of.. I must admit, I did put over the counter Lidocaine cream all over my breast about an hour before the procedure. I used this Lidocaine cream on my arm before a tetanus shot that I had to get and was so afraid of and I was screaming for the nurse to WAIT but.. IT WAS ALREADY DONE! Helps a lot so you don't feel pain.
Nurse also gave me tips for next time I get an injection.
