my co-worker gave me a new 10ml bottle of lidocaine, he uses it to give himself stitches. advice as to where to put the needle (i got from cvs insulin 31g-8mm),what to expect ie: will it burn- how long b4 its numb, and if i split the nail will it grow back? any advice will help..
It has been 20 days (may 10 the day I got the tattoo) and it still hasnt heal. It started with my tattoo looked like it was coming off then it did but the ink was still in my skin so I still had the tattoo now I thought it was all healed but the next day I noticed growing bumps around my tattoo which I ignored and kept washing my tattoo two-theee times a day with anti bacterial soap then it got worse where my tattoo was just skinless??
(I remember thinking that it looked and felt like a patch of cold sores.) It didn’t itch much, but the pain was unbearable. I would compare it to getting a tattoo that never ends. Hydrocortisone cream did nothing to ease the pain. I ended up buying some lidocaine at the drugstore which helped immensely. I also have an autoimmune disease (RA). My guess is that the drug caused a big immune response and my body unearthed a dormant virus as my prize. Who knows.
I spoke to a tattoo artist and dermatologist and because my skin is fine and the tattoo is completely healed that the pressure is not causes by the tattoo its just happened to be in the same area. Does this sound correct? Am I just experiencing back pain or is there something else I should be looking into thanks!
Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.
You won't find any tattoo parlor that will tattoo you while pregnant.
D Ointment on the tattoo for two days after I got it upon advice from the tattoo artist, but I have not used any topical creams since then.
Basically, I am wondering if I should drive the 2 hours it would take me to see a dermatologist or if I should just let the rash spread and wait for it to clear up? I am also wondering about how long that would take (just so I don't keep worrying about it!) And of course I'd love to know what caused it in the first place (allergy to the ink?
Is it safe to get a tattoo while you're pregnant? I thought about going for one when I got my taxes back, but wasn't sure if it was safe. I'm not wanting one around my stomach, but on my thigh.
can you still get a tattoo as long as it ain't near the stomach ? a tattoo person said you could but who has done it ?
Some tattoo places wouldnt do it, and you best asking your midwife or waiting until after babys born which would be best
There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
In a simple dental procedure, I had what I can only describe as a seizure after getting what was supposed to be lidocaine and epinephrine injection. The area never got numb, and the pain from the point of the needle each time they attempted to inject me was painful. I was taken to the ER and released after 8 hours with no explanation.
I read that lidocaine can cause a seizure. I have had injections many times with no problem. What could have gone wrong?
