Avatar f tn I was looking up this same information shortly before getting a tattoo on an affected area. Now that I've done it and it's been long enough for the tattoo to heal, thought I'd let anyone else looking my personal account. I had tinea versicolor on a large portion of where I was getting my tattoo (my entire chest) and I was concerned about the affected/non affected parts healing differently, having different colors after healing (it was full color) etc.
Avatar f tn There are times when I feel my skin is hypersensitive to touch, and I believe that is connected to my MS. But I can't say for sure. Good luck with covering the bad choice - I hope you like the new one better.
Avatar m tn Quick question. When getting a tattoo and getting tested do the same rules apply? Is three months still considered conclusive? Since it wasn't a sexual encounter, but a needle instead does the three month rule still apply?
Avatar n tn My MRIs have all been on my head since I got the tattoo, and mine is on my left side/flank. You could always just call and ask an MRI tech where ever you normally get them. Is this your first tattoo? Mine is my first and only one. I still love it. But I don't recommend getting one down your side - hurt a lot more than I had anticipated, lol!
1383377 tn?1279384982 I am an alcolic...and about 2 weeks ago, my doctor took tests on my liver and the results came back very bad, especially for my age(23). Apparently my liver is seriously damaged. I haven't drank since I heard the news but what I want to know is...if I get a new tattoo....can my damaged liver prevent it from healing right? I know the liver filters the toxins in your body and helps you recover, but would my liver affect my new tattoo in any way? Does anybody have any idea??
Avatar f tn With my first I didn't get any marks.. with this pregnancy I have a tattoo on my side still no marks and tattoo looks great.. and I'm 37 weeks all I use is bby oil sometime..
Avatar f tn My dentist gives me my shot and see another patient, by the time he got back to me I was fully numb. and the numbness last for 8 - 12 hours. I am highly allergic to lidocaine it puts me into anaphylactic shock, I have an epipen but sa that I don't have to use that I just make sure everyone is doing their job and I always wear my medic alert bracelet.
Avatar m tn My concern is HIV and Hepatitis C.I m vaccinated for hepatitis A and B as well. The tattoo was done with sterile needles opened in front of me, gloves where used at all the time by tattoo artist and color was taken from big bottles in new small color wells and dropped in trash along with needles after tattooing. My concern is because I have not seen the guy using autoclave machine for tattoo machine (gun) itself and tattoo tube (grip).
3708780 tn?1347928212 I am a Congenital Heart Disease patient diagnosed with Shone's Syndrome, 2 heart srugeries; 1st one a coarctation of the aorta at age 2, 2nd a mitral and aortic valve replacement with mechanical valves and a sinus of valsalva aneurysm repair at 37. Current meds include baby aspirin, coumadin and metropolol and occassionally xanax for anxiety. I'm interested in gettting a tattoo, a small one. Any risk? What is your opinion on this?
Avatar f tn There fore when getting a tattoo, you are more susceptible to getting an infection or not healing and getting to the way you want the tattoo to look.
303706 tn?1296876149 t make a lick of difference. I have a full back job which goes over scars, stretch marks and lots of various bumps and lumps and you can't even see the stretch marks anymore. I'm pregnant now and my tattooist told me to come back when I've finished breast feeding and he'll tidy it up so if I get any new stretch marks I won't be able to see them. Gotta love a good tattoo!!
Avatar f tn It was new needle, and my arm was cleaned before the tattoo and after the tattoo. It was not a new ink packet, but ink was poured directly from a bottle into an ink pot. 5 days later started getting bad weakness in both legs and exhaustion. On day 6 the leg weakness is still there but accompanied but slight fever (99-99.5) and head congestion. Could this possibly be the onset of ARS? Is it really even possible from a tattoo? Thank you so much, getting worried here.
Avatar n tn My husband used to be a tattoo artist until we had our kids and so I know a lot about what can happen to your body if tattoos go wrong! I also know that your body needs time to heal from having baby so getting a tattoo slows down that process because your body has to focus on healing one or the other! So that gives the tattoo time to set up infection if it's a slow healing process!!
Avatar f tn 4-5 yr old tattoo get's itchy and raised, like worms underneath skin. Also MRI's cause the tattoo to raise and swell, same reaction like worms are under my skin. I haven't met a dermatologist yet that can explain this. Lately it's been having this reaction more. I'm assuming it could be the weather, it keeps going from winter to spring here where I live. All my other tattoos are fine, never had any adverse reactions.
Avatar f tn in may i turned 18 and for mybday i got a chiari tattoo it was before i new about my eds. i love it and am so happy i got it all i would say is it took about two months to heal and it not like really bright but i love it!
Avatar m tn Yes Tommy if the Tattoo parlor is clean, uses a new needle each time and the gun is autoclaved then yes Tats are are lot safer than they were. They are still not risk free though. To have next to no chance of catching HCV from a Tattoo not only should the needle be new but also the ink and the gun should be freshly autoclaved (Cleaned).
Avatar f tn My friends recently posted on her Instagram story showing she got a DIY stick and poke tattoo. I also saw a few other things. I looked it up online and did research because it looked pretty cool. Turns out they fade but they’re still permanent. So I looked up ways to remove a tattoo and the safest and most reliable way is laser treatment but that still won’t completely get rid of the tattoo. There is also a risk of infections and stuff like that. I really want a tattoo though, it looks cool.
Avatar n tn She says she gets occasional chest pain, and her hands and feet are randomly going numb now too. She had the tattoo outlined a couple weeks ago and is going back to get color done, probably on the weekends. I don't know how close the skipped beats is coming after the tattoo session. It seems to me that a lot of ink introduced to a body could adversely affect it if the body was sensitive, and that is why I asked.
Avatar n tn If you're still pregnant they're not gonna tattoo you. Too risky for infection. When it's born and you're gonna breast feed, I would wait awhile.
Avatar f tn so say if someone who is hiv positive just got a tattoo and then 1 minute later someone else gets a tattoo with the the same needle it is no risk?
Avatar m tn However it’s two weeks on and while it looks like my tattoo has heeled fine my arm where the tattoo is still seems to be quite sore and my finger and hand still gets this weird numb and tingling sensation. Anyone experience anything like this before? Should i go to a doctor or pysio about this?
Avatar m tn My concern is HIV and Hepatitis C.I m vaccinated for hepatitis A and B as well. Avatar f tn So I have really bad vaginismus to the point where intercourse can only be done with a lot of lidocaine and with the help of dilators. I am 15 weeks pregnant and concerned about delivery. Will my vaginismus prevent me from vaginal delivery? Is anyone else dealing with or has dealt with this??
