Avatar n tn There is some nerve compression somewhere either the lower spinal or pudendal that is causing this burning sensation. If this nerve compression is lifted, it will take care of burning sensation. Dry skin and dermatitis too could be a cause and consult a skin specialist. Apply a good moisturizer with alore-vera or camphor and see if it helps. Take care!

Avatar f tn Cervical spondylosis, with abnormality at multiple levels. This includes moderate spinal stenosis at C5-C6. Borderline spinal stenosis is identified at C6-C7. Neural foraminal changes are noted bilaterally at multiple levels as detailed above, most significant at C5-C6." What does this mean exactly?
4294412 tn?1353197830 New treatments being studied to eliminate such pain without opiates include third generation tetracyclines. Spinal pain secondary to disc compression can sometimes be eliminated with presdcription transdermal lidocaine patches worn for no longer than twelve hours a day or an electric TENS device.
Avatar f tn In a few weeks I will be having a spinal block. Will I be pain free after this procedure, what can I expect about pain and will I be up and moving more?
Avatar m tn My mum suffers from spinal stenosis, chronic pain, neck pain and a variety of other conditions. For almost two years now she has lost most of her mobility and has muscle spasms that effect her ability to walk on her own? after many hospital appointments and doctor appointments we are still unaware of the extent of her condition. no doctor has been able to determine where her extreme pain in her spine, neck, head and shoulder are coming from.
Avatar f tn Pain started under right scapula 1month ago. Pain has gotten worse and moved into triceps. Marked weakness right arm with numbness to fingers. Pain is worse at rest and at night, better with holding right arm over head. CT & MRI showed compression on spinal cord, 8mm, but the compression is left and radiculopathy is all right. ESI no help, steroids, massage, PT, acupuncture and meds not helping. Lidocaine parches were no help, 1200mg gabapentin per day takes pain from 9 to 7.
Avatar m tn Having ruled out spinal involvment by CT and MRI, what treatment options are there for variant pain in thoracic area medial of scapula? I've experienced mild to severe pain in region, enervated by standing and active hand and arm motions over time while working under stress.. Corftisone and short/long acting lidocaine facet and area injections (T4-6) have yielded a maximum of 8 days relief. Radio Frequency Ablation , repeated twice, yielded 4-5 days relief per treatment.
Avatar f tn Local anesthetic agents like intravenous application of lidocaine, tocainide or mexiletene, can be prescribed as combination. Spinal cord stimulation introduces low level of electrical current to the dorsal portion of spinal cord and can include a fully implanted system or a system with an external power source.Consult your hospital for help of a neurosurgeon and a physiotherapist or search over internet about the ones in your locality. Hope this helps. Take care.

Avatar f tn C2-3 Unremarkable C3-4 1.5 mm diffuse disc osteophyte complex partially effaces the ventral thecal sac w/o spinal canal stenosis. The neural foramina are patent bilaterally. C4-5 2mm diffuse disc osteophyte complex and dorsal ligamentous hypertrophy result in near complete effacement of the thecal sac and narrowing of the spinal canal to an AP diameter of 8 mm. The neural foramina are patent bilaterally.
9264354 tn?1408743148 Well they tried 4 different times to go in for the spinal tap with 2 different DRs yesterday and then they sent me for a MRI of the C-spine and T-spine last night. I got the spinal headache still so I'm laying down drinking lots of Code Red Mountain Dew like they suggested for the headache. If it's not gone tomorrow they plan to do a blood patch. I'm starting to think these tests are about as tortuous as the MS. My primary DR said that I do have MS until proven other wise.
Avatar n tn Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.
Avatar n tn 3 Months Post Operation At L3-4, There is an element of mild spinal canal stenosis with AP diameter of the spinal canal measuring 8 mm At L4-5, There is spinal canal stenosis with narrowing of the AP diameter of the spinal canal to 7 mm At L5-S1, The AP diameter of the spinal canal is 9 mm Impressions: “I suspect that there is an element of associated congenital spinal canal stenosis with spinal canal stenosis noted at the L3-4, L4-5 and L5-S1 levels” Research Articles: Excerpt explaining
383138 tn?1314167773 wants to do a lidocaine IV infusion, he says IV infusion of lidocaine is different than the dental injection. My cardiologist says I can't have lidocaine at all, due to my past severe heart reaction to it, but my pain dr. thinks it will be OK and has scheduled me for infusion for pain relief for this Friday. I dont know what to do, so any info on the lidocaine and any contraidictions with heart arrhythmias would be helpful. Thankyou.
Avatar n tn I have been dealing with lower back/hip pain for the past 2 years. When I went in for an MRI, they found that I have avascular necrosis on both hip bones. I had core decompression surgery on my left hip 7 months ago. Now we're trying to focus on my back again. I am told I need spinal fusion on my L5-S1.
Avatar f tn My daughter now 17.5 has been in severe pain for 4 years (as of 8/18). One day we were playing tennis, next day could not get out of bed and since has not been able to walk at all. They cannot see what's wrong on MRI, long story there, but now in MA the docs are going to give her lidocaine infusions and started her on nortriptyline 10 mg with increasing doses.
Avatar m tn all do for the legitimate pain after detoxing off opiates. I have spinal stenosis and a couple of degenerative disk. I know the pain is magnified right now, but I'm not getting enough relief in between. This is what caused me to relapse the last time. I'm taking the maximum daily dose of Advil a day with hot showers and a heating pad. Any suggestions would be very appreciated. I guess I'm in a pickle with the real pain and the addictive personality.
Avatar f tn There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
Avatar m tn In a simple dental procedure, I had what I can only describe as a seizure after getting what was supposed to be lidocaine and epinephrine injection. The area never got numb, and the pain from the point of the needle each time they attempted to inject me was painful. I was taken to the ER and released after 8 hours with no explanation. I read that lidocaine can cause a seizure. I have had injections many times with no problem. What could have gone wrong?
Avatar f tn I have been in pain since 2003 due to a car accident. Had one neck surgery in 2004 and I am having problems with another disk. This past year and half it has been getting worse. My headaches are bad and have been getting dizzy a lot and the pain in the neck, shoulder and down arm and hand. My oxycodone 10mg and morphine 15 mg are not working.
Avatar f tn so still seeking alternatives. Someone mentioned lidocaine/lidoderm patches. Any experience/ advice or other suggestions for these or other alternatives???? Other info: The muscle relaxers probably help, but I don't like to take them. They make me too sleepy and I know they can be addictive (though I seriously don't like them). I've been using a heating pad every night for a week and it hasn't helped. Salon-Pas patches help....some. The anti-inflamatory pill helps...some....
306455 tn?1288862071 lotsatrout...good idea...you ought to get a patent....lidocaine suit...i like that!!! ...My educated guess says it is not addictive!!!...and we know where my educated guesses have gotten me before!!!
