1080181 tn?1425394866 Plenty of women continue to tan while pregnant, but sunburn in a severe form can pose a very serious danger to a pregnant woman and her unborn baby..so its absolutely VITAL to wear sunscreen if you will be out for more than half an hour, and vital to wear light cotton clothing to cover the trunk of your body (chest, back) and reapply the sunscreen often. Don't overlook the risks of sun overexposure while pregnant...it's nothing to be taken lightly!!
Avatar f tn s not a pleasant smell but works a treat for burns and helps speed up the healing ☺ pregnant women have extremely sensitive skin due to hormonal changes i learnt the hard way to
4592444 tn?1362029703 I've put lidocaine gel on my legs like for a sunburn. It has aloe Vera in it and lidocaine helps with the itching.
Avatar m tn Some people ice the area (personally I think the cold hurts worse than the teeny needle poke)...Others have been able to get a 2% lidocaine gel from their pharmacist (usually used for premature ejaculation issues) and apply that to the area, but most just do it cold turkey... Have you started your shots yet? If so, and you are worried about the needle, it is a very teeny and short little thing and, when you finally get brave enough to "just do it", you barely feel it.
Avatar n tn I got a pretty bad sunburn on the 3rd of June. It cleared up with a little peeling on my shoulder (where the sunburn was the most severe). About a day after the peeling on my shoulder stopped (I'd say that was the 9th), I got a rash. I then noticed it was everywhere I had been sunburned or exposed to the sun, but not anywhere that my bathing suit was covering. The rash is terribly itchy and it's very small flesh colored bumps.
Avatar f tn I got Badly Sunburnt the other day on my face, neck and shoulders and mum noticed a lump on my forehead is that normal?. I've had no problems with head aches I get dry eyes I suppose its from the sunburn. I'm keeping my fluids and cream up and getting better. I'm the sort of type of person that gets burnt and tans up too. But I was red raw the other day all over my face and especially my shoulders. Could it be fluid??
Avatar f tn s something in the prenatal pills that make you really sensitive. I went camping for a few days and I got a really bad sunburn on my face. When I got home my face was starting to swell and the next day my eyes were a lot swollen shut. It was terrible.
Avatar f tn I have had dental work done at all stages of pregnancy my dentist says that it's best in the 2nd trimester but can be done at anytime. As far as the wisdom teeth they told me I needed them out when I was pregnant with my 2nd I opted to wait till I had the baby. You can do it while your pregnant but you won't be able to be put out for it and won't be able to take as strong of a pain med or antibiotic.
Avatar f tn Yes. It happened to me with my last and this one as well. I live on cape cod and get the best color when I'm pregnant. Careful for dehydration! Double your water intake!!
Avatar f tn this was my first time out in the pool while pregnant and my belly got sunburned! please tell me this won't hurt my baby....its the last time im laying out without shade!
Avatar n tn BUT it will return after you sit or lay for a while. The longer you lay, the longer it will take to recover from that initial blast of pain... How long? Why? don't know... but I'm 100% certain it is relatd to blood pressure in the burnt skin. Please correct me or add if you know more details.
Avatar f tn There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
Avatar n tn This is a question for your doctor or a pharmacist.
Avatar f tn I'm due in June and I was wondering if its okay to take the baby outside while its so hot? & if so for how long? & is there anything I should buy so the baby doesn't get sunburn or too hot? I don't wanna take him/her out if its not safe but I don't wanna be stuck inside all summer either.
199882 tn?1310184542 If you have any vitamin E kicking around or better yet some aloe vera, they are the best for sunburn and will take the burn out fairly quick. If you use aloe vera though make sure you use some moisturizing lotion after as it will dry the skin somewhat. You shouldn't peel much after either using either one of them. I hope you feel better soon.
916918 tn?1244091877 m not sure what it is, but to relieve the symptoms, your usual sunburn products would have a numbing effect... anything with lidocaine. Also, aloe relieves burning. Ice could also work wonders and would also take down swelling and stop the burning skin. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn So I have really bad vaginismus to the point where intercourse can only be done with a lot of lidocaine and with the help of dilators. I am 15 weeks pregnant and concerned about delivery. Will my vaginismus prevent me from vaginal delivery? Is anyone else dealing with or has dealt with this??
1571533 tn?1322943509 Hi Sandy! My doctor also prescribed me the Lidocaine patch for my hip and lower back. (didn't have neck or upper back pain at that time) They only worked for about a day and they also wouldn't stick to my body but I just found out last week that I tore a ligament in my hip so that my be why they didn't work. I hope your dr.can find the right med that helps with your pain!
Avatar m tn However, I noticed recently that my back has a far darker tan than my front and even than my arms which are exposed to the sun when my shirt is on as well as off. The only explanation I could think of for this is that I swim lots of crawl stroke with my back naturally facing the sky. But I had always thought that being blanketed in water blocked harmful uv rays, to what extent is this true (or not true)? If I'm wrong, is waterproof sunscreen an effective solution?
7520331 tn?1395101988 So, my friend is 35 weeks pregnant (yes I'm pregnant too so don't freak out at me!) And we are sitting here and her skin is super red, she said it happened to her last night as well. Anyone got any advice or help you can give as to why her skin has gone red?
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm prescribed a lidoderm 5% patch, which is basically a patch infused with lidocaine. It helps with the nerve/muscle type pain I have in the lower left leg facing outward. By itself, for bad pain it wouldn't be worth the money, but I'm prescribed Lortab 10/650's ( a narcotic ) and the two used together seem to help lower this pain better than either one treatment alone.
Avatar m tn I have the same problem, except my burn was from the sun. It did not peel because I kept putting on a first aid treatment for sunburn. It is on my lower leg and won't go away. I have never had this problem before. I would also like to know what this is.
Avatar n tn Hello Dear, Lidocaine blocks conduction of nerve impulses by decreasing neuronal membrane's permeability of sodium ions, which results in inhibition of depolarization and blockade of conduction. Intranasal administration of lidocaine drops requires specific and, for many patients, difficult technique. The dose is 4%solution intranasally.
Avatar f tn Can aspercreme with lidocaine be used on a burn caused by a flame if its not blistered
Avatar n tn If you had herpes infection behind the leg, itself this could be the reason for the sunburn like sensation. You might be having sharp, burning pain, extremely sensitive to touch, and temperature change. Treatment will depend on the type of pain. This includes anti depressants like serotonin or norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants, anticonvulsants, pain killers like tramadol, TENS, spinal cord or peripheral nerve stimulation.
