Some people ice the area (personally I think the cold hurts worse than the teeny needle poke)...Others have been able to get a 2% lidocaine gel from their pharmacist (usually used for premature ejaculation issues) and apply that to the area, but most just do it cold turkey... Have you started your shots yet? If so, and you are worried about the needle, it is a very teeny and short little thing and, when you finally get brave enough to "just do it", you barely feel it.
I got a pretty bad sunburn on the 3rd of June. It cleared up with a little peeling on my shoulder (where the sunburn was the most severe). About a day after the peeling on my shoulder stopped (I'd say that was the 9th), I got a rash. I then noticed it was everywhere I had been sunburned or exposed to the sun, but not anywhere that my bathing suit was covering. The rash is terribly itchy and it's very small flesh colored bumps.
I got Badly Sunburnt the other day on my face, neck and shoulders and mum noticed a lump on my forehead is that normal?. I've had no problems with head aches I get dry eyes I suppose its from the sunburn. I'm keeping my fluids and cream up and getting better. I'm the sort of type of person that gets burnt and tans up too. But I was red raw the other day all over my face and especially my shoulders. Could it be fluid??
Theres something called Aquaphor...its safe and works wonders. Walmart carries it.
There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.

I'm prescribed a lidoderm 5% patch, which is basically a patch infused with lidocaine. It helps with the nerve/muscle type pain I have in the lower left leg facing outward. By itself, for bad pain it wouldn't be worth the money, but I'm prescribed Lortab 10/650's ( a narcotic ) and the two used together seem to help lower this pain better than either one treatment alone.
I have the same problem, except my burn was from the sun. It did not peel because I kept putting on a first aid treatment for sunburn. It is on my lower leg and won't go away. I have never had this problem before. I would also like to know what this is.
If you had herpes infection behind the leg, itself this could be the reason for the sunburn like sensation. You might be having sharp, burning pain, extremely sensitive to touch, and temperature change. Treatment will depend on the type of pain. This includes anti depressants like serotonin or norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants, anticonvulsants, pain killers like tramadol, TENS, spinal cord or peripheral nerve stimulation.
I am terrified of needles too and I FELT NOTHING.. They used Buffered Lidocaine injection which I did not feel any of.. I must admit, I did put over the counter Lidocaine cream all over my breast about an hour before the procedure. I used this Lidocaine cream on my arm before a tetanus shot that I had to get and was so afraid of and I was screaming for the nurse to WAIT but.. IT WAS ALREADY DONE! Helps a lot so you don't feel pain.
Nurse also gave me tips for next time I get an injection.
I applied cooling aloe vera gel with lidocaine for two days. However, it is extremely painful as the skin starts drying and when standing. On the third day I started applying lotion to hydrate my skin. Standing all day at work does not help either, so once I get home, I elevate my legs against the wall at a 90 degree angle to help relieve the swelling. It's been five days now, and the pain on the skin is subsiding. I have bought compression socks to help stop the swelling while at work.
Hello, My sister needs extensive dental work i.e. root canals and fillings and crowns. She is a heart patient and we are wondering if Lidocaine, EPI, or any of the 'caines' are safe for dental work in heart patients? We do not want to start an arrythmia attack. Any safe meds? Thanks much.
About 5 days ago I fell asleep on the beach for almost 4 hours. I am very fare skinned and I know this was VERY stupid. But now I need treatment advice. As you can imagine, I got incredibly sunburned. About 5 hours after sun exposure, I started to get light headed and nauseous. I fainted and then could not stand up without throwing up. The next few days I could not stand without severe pain in my legs (extremely sharp pains in my shins).
I had a follow-up PM appointment today. I haven't seen her in a couple of months. We stopped my Cymbalta about a month ago and it made a HUGE difference in how I feel mentally and emotionally. Apparently that wasn't the drug for me, and it makes no difference in my pain, which was the point of going on it to begin with.
I had a terrible fibromyalgia flare-up before Thanksgiving. The worst in a long time. To the point I had to crawl up the stairs and go down on my bum.
Not to my knowledge, there is nothing that can cause a positive cocaine result.
I'm due in June and I was wondering if its okay to take the baby outside while its so hot? & if so for how long? & is there anything I should buy so the baby doesn't get sunburn or too hot? I don't wanna take him/her out if its not safe but I don't wanna be stuck inside all summer either.
Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.
my co-worker gave me a new 10ml bottle of lidocaine, he uses it to give himself stitches. advice as to where to put the needle (i got from cvs insulin 31g-8mm),what to expect ie: will it burn- how long b4 its numb, and if i split the nail will it grow back? any advice will help..
