Lidocaine for numbing

Common Questions and Answers about Lidocaine for numbing

lidoderm

Avatar m tn caine drugs including Lidocaine which seems to be the favorite agent for Ophthamologists. I never had a skin test for that drug in particular but in the past couple years, eating chocolate has caused itching on my hands. As chocolate and the caine drugs all come from the same plant I presume any derivative from that plant would cause a reaction. I also have severe allergic contact dermatitis to pine sap and tomatoes. That takes a trip to urgent care for a Prednisone shot to get relief.
1264863 tn?1391118193 , use the combination of equal parts liquid benadryl and maalox (or mylanta) gargle and swish for 60 seconds then spit.. The lidocaine helps greatly (numbing) but in a pinch the other two are soothing and you will find some relief.
Avatar f tn Look at the ingredients on the bottle. Benzocaine is mostly made up of lidocaine -a numbing agent in no way related to cocaine. You are more likely to test positive for THC (pot) from using motrin.
Avatar f tn Thank you for easing my mind. I did get some lidocaine from my doctor. She believes my paranoia of checking myself 10 + times a day irritated the sensitive skin down there. Giving me the lidocaine helped immensely.
Avatar f tn I did a lot of research on the internet and found out there are two numbing creams LMX 4% Lidocaine, (available behind the counter) and EMLA 2.5% Lidocaine, 2.5% Prilocaine which requires a prescription. I bought both, and actually tested them on myself at home, by sticking insulin needles in myself after 2 hours of leaving the numbing cream on, and it works!
Avatar f tn If the spray is a numbing agent like lidocaine, it seems like it wouldn't be harmful. But, always check with the doctor first.
Avatar f tn So I did my research and ended up purchasing a vaginal dilator set and asked my doctors to prescribe lidocaine which is a numbing cream that helps with feeling no pain down there at all! By using lube, lidocaine and my dilators for months I was finally able to have Intercourse for the the very first time.
Avatar m tn Xylocain /lidocaine are anesthetic cream. Longer use can create numbness. If you have applied more cream, it affects vagina as wee, numbing vagina and reducing the pleasure of sex activity. Numbness is not permanant. It is reversible. Stop using xyocaine. You will recover in due course of time. To help you to hasten the recovery, you may do Male deer exercise. Google the word. Learn it and do the exercise regularly. You may recover within a month's time.Spell check not done.

Avatar m tn I use Kenergon a desensitising spray for the penis with lidocaine, except this time I certainly went overboard in the number of sprays I applied in the space of a few hours. Maybe 20 or so. My penis still doesn't feel quite right a few days later. Slight lack of sensitivity etc Will things go back to normal in a few days? Or is this something serious?
Avatar n tn I am using a lidocaine patch. It is a numbing patch. I ration them though. They do help, but are expensive. There was another patch with an anti-inflammatory in it, but I am taking mobic orally, which helps me more.
Avatar n tn How long has he had the spots? Usually mouth problems heal in about 7-10 days. Some of the mouth rinses like what we call "magic mouth wash" it has lidocaine in it which can be a numbing agent. I'm sorry for your little one in such pain. Motrin is better because it has anti-inflamatory in it. "magic mouth wash" has Benadryl, maylox, lidocaine, and I'm not sure what else, but if you are interested I could ask the dentist that I work for what the prescription is.
Avatar n tn I guess doctors use Lidocaine for numbing before different procedures and my doctor said it worked wonders for hemorrhoids, too. Working with both our family doctor and the GI doc, we used the above tricks and also added MiraLax, a stool softening laxative that is available over-the-counter, to her diet. Don't let laxative scare you off. My daughter was taking a full adult dose and it doesn't create a need to go NOW. It is gentle and safe.
Avatar m tn Some people ice the area (personally I think the cold hurts worse than the teeny needle poke)...Others have been able to get a 2% lidocaine gel from their pharmacist (usually used for premature ejaculation issues) and apply that to the area, but most just do it cold turkey... Have you started your shots yet? If so, and you are worried about the needle, it is a very teeny and short little thing and, when you finally get brave enough to "just do it", you barely feel it.
Avatar f tn I'm a 31 year old female who has dealt with abscesses most of my life. I've had 3 previously lanced, all in my right armpit. On Sunday, I sought medical treatment at a local clinic as my doctors office was closed. They lanced, drained, and packed the abscess. The PA did things much differently than I've ever had done before. Firstly, he used no lidocaine or numbing medication, as he said it doesn't help.
Avatar m tn As Lynn said, the biopsy itself isn't too bad. It's not fun, but not horrible. Don't hesitate to ask for more lidocaine (numbing agent) if you feel you need it. I drove myself home. My neck was a bit sore afterward, but after keeping ice on it for a little while, it was ok. Hopefully, this will turn out to be benign. Good luck to you!
Avatar n tn Yesterday I had my first injection. It was quite painful even with numbing the injection point with Lidocaine first. It was over rather quick but I could not stand on that leg when leaving the office. I needed a wheel chair to get to my car. The office staff waved me off without any warnings or concern.
Avatar f tn It will give you so much relief. Ask for them to out a lidocaine patch or gel there before giving you the numbing shot. That should minimize any pain. Good luck!!
429209 tn?1224166589 Lidocaine patches are a local numbing agent and will help the pain where he puts the patch...not much is absorbed systemically and they are not addicting...now i wouldnt put 10 on at a time!
Avatar n tn s 3 yrs old) and I like your ideas for pain/numbing of sites, but is there anything we can do to improve the skin condition of injection sites? He's already getting rough, bumpy spots on his arms and bottom. We do rotate very well to all possible sites, but, invariably, the back of the arm gets "overused". Does anyone know of any creams or soaps, other than normal skin moisturizers?
Avatar m tn Since the test was diagnostic it means it was negative for that problem. The pain went away as you said due to the lidocaine (which is short acting) and there was not inflammation so the cortisone didn't work.
7753764 tn?1401853590 I already signed the paperwork so I am for sure I'm just worried cause I'm put to sleep for my c section due to allergies to the numbing agent lidocaine so I won't even be awake till 3 hours after my daughter's born
383138 tn?1314167773 They wont inject lidocaine into a vein for pain... If they did any dose they give would be negligable for your heart.
