When I had the wire procedure this week, first they put in the IV needle which I barely felt because I had plastered numbing cream over my veins to help with the IV pain. I also plastered so much numbing cream over my breast that during the actual wire procedure, I barely felt any discomfort from the clamps, did not feel the needle from the numbing injection until it reached the deepest point, and then only for a second or two.
So I did my research and ended up purchasing a vaginal dilator set and asked my doctors to prescribe lidocaine which is a numbing cream that helps with feeling no pain down there at all! By using lube, lidocaine and my dilators for months I was finally able to have Intercourse for the the very first time.

caine drugs including Lidocaine which seems to be the favorite agent for Ophthamologists. I never had a skin test for that drug in particular but in the past couple years, eating chocolate has caused itching on my hands. As chocolate and the caine drugs all come from the same plant I presume any derivative from that plant would cause a reaction.
I also have severe allergic contact dermatitis to pine sap and tomatoes. That takes a trip to urgent care for a Prednisone shot to get relief.
Does anyone know of a Cream, Spray or wipe that is safe & recommended to use in which to numb the skin prior to taking your weekly shots of peg Interferon?
If the spray is a numbing agent like lidocaine, it seems like it wouldn't be harmful. But, always check with the doctor first.
She believes my paranoia of checking myself 10 + times a day irritated the sensitive skin down there. Giving me the lidocaine helped immensely.
Im having my tooth cut out & Im 32 weeks pregnant. The numbing stuff they use to numb my mouth lidocaine or novacaine will it hurt my baby!?

I use Kenergon a desensitising spray for the penis with lidocaine, except this time I certainly went overboard in the number of sprays I applied in the space of a few hours. Maybe 20 or so.
My penis still doesn't feel quite right a few days later. Slight lack of sensitivity etc
Will things go back to normal in a few days? Or is this something serious?
s nice to know that there is something available that works well at both numbing the skin and calming the child. It needs to be applied and stay on the skin for approx. 20-30 minutes prior to injection though. This was the only drawback that we experienced with this prescription. I introduced the EMLA with the understanding that once my daughter became more comfortable with the new site, we would not need the EMLA anymore.
How long has he had the spots? Usually mouth problems heal in about 7-10 days. Some of the mouth rinses like what we call "magic mouth wash" it has lidocaine in it which can be a numbing agent. I'm sorry for your little one in such pain. Motrin is better because it has anti-inflamatory in it. "magic mouth wash" has Benadryl, maylox, lidocaine, and I'm not sure what else, but if you are interested I could ask the dentist that I work for what the prescription is.

You don't say if you're male or female, so I don't know if going to the bathroom hurts because you have sores on your vulva and the urine is hitting those sores, or because you have sores inside your urethra. Both are super painful, but drinking water will help in both cases. It helps dilute the acid in your urine which is why it hurts so much.
I guess doctors use Lidocaine for numbing before different procedures and my doctor said it worked wonders for hemorrhoids, too.
Working with both our family doctor and the GI doc, we used the above tricks and also added MiraLax, a stool softening laxative that is available over-the-counter, to her diet. Don't let laxative scare you off. My daughter was taking a full adult dose and it doesn't create a need to go NOW. It is gentle and safe.
They used Buffered Lidocaine injection which I did not feel any of.. I must admit, I did put over the counter Lidocaine cream all over my breast about an hour before the procedure. I used this Lidocaine cream on my arm before a tetanus shot that I had to get and was so afraid of and I was screaming for the nurse to WAIT but.. IT WAS ALREADY DONE! Helps a lot so you don't feel pain.
Nurse also gave me tips for next time I get an injection.
