Careful with Levofloxacin. Sometimes the side effects aren't worth the benefits. I took Levofloxacin to cure a bout of pneumonia. Sure enough, the infection cleared up, but my joints ached so bad I could not raise my arms to take a shower, put my clothes on, bend to tie my shoes, get in and out of a car quickly. Strength training and jogging was out of the question for a month.

Strep throat is caused by Group A beta-hemolytic streptococci (Streptococcus pyogenes). Penicillin(s) are generally prescribed in the treatment of strep throat. If your medical provider has ordered Levaquin I assume there are good reasons. Allergy to penicillin??

The flu would not go away and was diagnosed 5 days ago with Pneumonia in my right middle lobe and put on Levofloxacin 750mg @ 1X for 5 days. Today is my final day of taking the drug. Two nights ago woke up from sleep in middle of night with terrible headache on my left side about the eye I had the laser surgery. The headache went away shortly after getting up for the day. Last night as soon as I laid down to bed I got the bad headache in the same place along with eye pain in my left eye.
There has been some papers published concerning the developement of fluoroquinolone resistance in Chlamydia trachomatis but not in the pneumonia species. These studies were all done in the lab. Apparently there is an amino substitution that occurs in the GYR A protein of the Chlamydia. One reason I don`t recommend treating genital Chlamidial infections with fluoroquinolones.
I was given levofloxacin and muprocin for what was told a skin infection in my nostril and left ear. I had seen a hard white ridge of skin in my nose and started feeling like i had the flu two weeks ago. He rushed me, didn't tell me what kind it was and hasn't called me. I took my fourth of seven pills last night and still have flu like symptoms.
if so then the drugs of choice are dependent on whether he has pneumonia or not or if it is just in the throat. Pain in the lung sounds like pneumonia but then his Xray was ok? So, I would say he should see an infectious disease specialist if he isn't getting better. Generally, for community acquired pneumonia they do tests in the lab to see what drugs the MRSA is sensitive to.

I took two z-pacs this time, and when neither of those fully got rid of the problems, I was put in Levofloxacin 500mg again for another 10 days. I was also put on prednisone again because of how well it worked with the pneumonia and was having very bad breathing troubles, and was also prescribed duoneb, a nebulizer solution that I guess is a combination of incruse and albuterol. She also switched me to breo and incruse, rather than the advair. I am now around 265 lbs.
Is 500 mg of Levofloxacin every 48 hours suppose to make a 70 year old diabetic dialysis patient drowsy, fatigued, emotionally disturbed, and delirious?
Is it okay to stop the continuing dosage after seeing the affects of the first dose?
d like to ask the question in the title. I know that levaquin is for killing bacteria and that HIV is a virus. Yet, can levaquin indirectly prevent ars symptoms from showing up? I ask because I don't know if ars symptoms are directly related to the virus and seroconversion or if it's a byproduct of it.

Hi, probably this is sinusitis. Pressure or headache while bending is seen in sinusitis. Accumulation of mucus in sinuses behind cheeks, eyes etc.causes these kind of symptoms. Try steam inhalation, anti inflammatory drugs along with anti histaminics and antibiotics (amoxicillin, levofloxacin etc) for a week or so. Sinus drainage is also done but only after confirmation of diagnosis.

I now understand that levofloxacin can cure E. I thought it had to cure C or G, which would in turn cure my E. But it seems, though I'd like someone to confirm it if you have any knowledge, that levofloxacin directly cures E.

Epididymitis was cured by levofloxacin in 2 days but why and what caused my E in the first place?

Maybe my scrotum skin was weak during sex and it got infected during the sex process, but not by any STD.
Two weekends ago I woke up with the usual backache associated with pneumonia. I get it twice a year, so on Monday I called my doctor and went in. I was not seen by the doctor but was given prescriptions for the pneumonia and an order to get x-rays done. On Thursday I got the call that the x-rays did not show pneumonia and to stop taking the medication. On Friday I was worse so I went to the ER. That's where they told me I dislocated my ribs from coughing due to the pneumonia.....
my scrotum is not itchy, but i have some not so pleasant tingling , and a burning sensation , happened imediately afer i had sex . for 3 weeks i dont feel getting any better after i tried levofloxacin , applying Methylprednisolone aceponate gel , metronidazole, antifungal (containing nystatin , neomycin sulfate, triamcinolone acetonide) gel. my sack looks very loose.
