Why were the medications which include azithromycin 1g OD, doxy 100 mg. for 5-7 days and levofloxacin 500 mg for 10 days failed to cure us? Thanks for all the support. God bless.
Gay, 48 yo male. I am having second time in the last year unspecified UTI, which presents itself as morning yellowy-greenish discharge, and slight pain in the urethra (without urinating). Urinal STI test and swabs coming back negative for Ghonorea and Chlamydia. Last time I was treated with some antibiotics, and it seemed to went away.
I started 100 mg doxycycline (big mistake) without taking any test. I then visited my go who put me on one week 250 my levofloxacin and pyridium. The pain did not go away. I visited. A urologist who conducted two rounds of blood and urine test- no infection. A week after doxy dosage I took a std test for gonorrhoea chlamydia and ureaplasma. All negative. I was worried about herpes all along and Borge the urologist and venrealogist said unlikely.
He said there is a chance for me to acquire chlamydia, gu, other ngu and herpes. He gave me some antibiotics (Levofloxacin 250mg x 2 for 7 days) to take care of any potential UTI and told me to monitor my penis in the coming time (didn't say for how long) for any herpes symptoms.
I was kind of relieved after seeing your posts here. But since I have been told I am at risk it will be nice to get a second opinion from an expert.
About 4 months ago I had protected sex with a sex worker and the condom broke (big mistake). The next day i wake up and my foreskin is swollen like 5x its normal size all the way around(I start freaking out). This subsided next day but then 2-3 weeks later a burning sensation appears at the tip of my penis and has been constant now for 4 months. I have had 2 very mild dribbling discharges and a big one after completion of leprofloxcin.

I’m not sexually active it started at my left testicle first antibiotic is levofloxacin for 10 days after that naproxen for 5 days thought I’m getting better then 2 days later pain and swelling went back. My doctor suggested me to a urologist but it’s been 3 weeks and never got a call. I went to emergency for another antibiotic refferal.
One week later I was tested for uti and kidney/bladder infection. This test was also negative. My symptoms are mild and have included irritation in my urithra and occasional instances of having to pee in the middle of the night. I was prescribed an antibiotic levofloxacin and have finished the course about three days ago. These symptoms still persist. Is this just paranoia or is it possible that I have received a false negative? What could be the clause of this?
2) Hard lump in the left testicle from 4 days ago until about today. (I went to the doctor and started levofloxacin, 100mg x3 a day for over 7 days. I live in Japan, so yes, this dosage is 100% correct. I read somewhere that people thought this dosage is not possible). I've been checking all day and it really seemed to have disappeared, but the testicle is still weak and sensitive, so maybe it's possible that 1.
Headaces with antibiotics?
I been on two types of antibiotics for 6 days now for my UTI. At 1st I was on Sulfameth/ Trimethoprim for 5 days and now I'm on Levoflaxacin. I been having headaces ever since I started them. I also been having this pain on my left side of my head. Can this be a side effect? I never get headaches. I'm very worried. I'll call dr tmrw.

I am uncircumcised, 28 year old and i had protected(2 condoms) vaginal sex for not more than 5 minutes with a prostitute 25 days back, but i did not cum inside - later i masturbated for 2 or 3 minutes without removing that condom. then I ejaculated and removed condom as carefully as i can.
Two weeks back I had burning sensation while urinating for a day and then it was normal for few days. From last week i am getting urine frequently and with some burning sensation as well.
I tested negative for urine routine and culture twice now. I am on third type of antibiotic Levofloxacin. Doctors say I have UTI.This is my second course of antibiotics in one month but sympyoms are recurring in last one month. I read that HSV can cause UTI. I haven't got any relief with antibiotics. My Igg for hsv 1 was positive 3.15 and hsv 2 after one month of exposure was negative. Should I do another test this week that's at 7th week.
I went back for a re-test on the last day of the doxycycline, but still came back positive for chlamydia. So currently I’m taking a 14 day prescription for Levofloxacin. I’m on my 6th day. Still no symptoms. No pain after urination, no discharge, and no testicular pain.
My questions are:
1.) Should I be concerned since this is my third antibiotic treatment for chlamydia?
2.) Am I able to drink coffee? I read on some sites that I shouldn’t drink coffee.
0 gram dose of azithromycin or doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for 7 days are recommended therapy for NGU. Levofloxacin will probably work however and is a good drug for prostatitis.
I have 2 questions:
1. Yesterday I had a swab test from the urethra. The test was performed in the afternoon and 20 min after I have urinated.
Will the test results be accurate? I read that the test should have been done at least 2 hours after urination?
The Doc. did an ultrasound of my testicles, my kidneys and a urine test.
Tendon rupture and horrible aches and pains for months can result. People have different genetic tolerances. I can tolerate Cipro, for example, however Levofloxacin caused me terrible problems for almost eight months. Getting back to your question the answer is "probably", but not absolutely positively. . Both medications interfere with bacterial replication, but in slightly different ways.
