I understand that Enterococcus faecalis is not an official STD, but UTI bacteria transmission can also occur during exposure. I didn't have any of this before the exposure. Doctor has prescribed me Augmentin 875-125 mg (Amoxicillin/clavulanic acid) twice a day for 1 week (I think the 875 is the Amoxicillin part and 125 maybe the clavulanic acid). I will take the meds and see if the infection goes away.
After that, strep was gone, but e colli was there, so Bactrim was prescribed for 5 days. 3rd time only enterococcus faecalis was reported and nothing was prescribed until after 20days the doctor repeated examination. 4th swab indicated presence of strep b (second time) and enterococcus faecalis, amoxiscilin is prescribed for 8-10 days.

I went for a repeat urine c+s last week since the previous results were lost, and it was negative for G and C but came back positive for enterococcus faecalis. I felt better alright but after i drank alcohol again i felt a pain in my lower back and some itching in my penis and a clear watery discharge although minimal. When I went back to my urologist, he said that im already cured and that he also said that maybe im just worrying too much.
I started 100 mg doxycycline (big mistake) without taking any test. I then visited my go who put me on one week 250 my levofloxacin and pyridium. The pain did not go away. I visited. A urologist who conducted two rounds of blood and urine test- no infection. A week after doxy dosage I took a std test for gonorrhoea chlamydia and ureaplasma. All negative. I was worried about herpes all along and Borge the urologist and venrealogist said unlikely.
Say even if I had a UTI (which you have already pointed out that my risk is practically zero), I took levofloxacin for 4 days (out of 7days), will it still be able to infect my wife?

My symptoms got better a little bit, i dont feel like my bladder is going to kill me anytime, but still i need to urinate frequently. After the levofloxacin, i went to a diffenrent urologist, a private one and asked him about interstitial cystitis , but he said that it is a really bad UTI and i should take more uva ursi.

My problems started with a UTI following unprotected oral sex (receiving, I'm male), bacteria confirmed in the urine by a simple stick test. Antibiotics (nitrofurantoin) failed to resolve the problem, then white blood cells detected in urine by the stick test, so different antibiotics (amoxicillin) prescribed, again without effect. How were you diagnosed with the E. coli? Where is it in your body? E. coli is an Enterococcus and this is what the major food borne infections are. They can be quite serious therefore I would not put off going back to your doctor and getting checked out again...and I mean pronto.
One week later I was tested for uti and kidney/bladder infection. This test was also negative. My symptoms are mild and have included irritation in my urithra and occasional instances of having to pee in the middle of the night. I was prescribed an antibiotic levofloxacin and have finished the course about three days ago. These symptoms still persist. I've been recently diagnosed with enterococcus and it caused urinary tract infection. Now, my question is - could enterococcus be transmitted on other persons through kissing (via saliva etc.)? Is it present in the mouth? And in what ways enterococcus is transmitted anyway? What kind of complications could it cause?

I now understand that levofloxacin can cure E. I thought it had to cure C or G, which would in turn cure my E. But it seems, though I'd like someone to confirm it if you have any knowledge, that levofloxacin directly cures E.

Epididymitis was cured by levofloxacin in 2 days but why and what caused my E in the first place?
Theory:
Maybe my scrotum skin was weak during sex and it got infected during the sex process, but not by any STD.
Headaces with antibiotics?
I been on two types of antibiotics for 6 days now for my UTI. At 1st I was on Sulfameth/ Trimethoprim for 5 days and now I'm on Levoflaxacin. I been having headaces ever since I started them. I also been having this pain on my left side of my head. Can this be a side effect? I never get headaches. I'm very worried. I'll call dr tmrw.

I've had two UTI's in the past 4 months, and both of them have been caused by Enterobacter. I've read that this is normally acquired in hospitals (I haven't been a patient recently) and can be much harder to get rid of (often quickly develops drug resistance...) Has anyone else ever had a UTI with Enterobacter? I think UTI's are normally caused by E.Coli and my doctor said it was strange that I would develop two Enterobacter infections.
