Risks include extravasation of the ethanol into the local tissues with possible damage to the nerve going to the vocal cords (usually temporary). There are a few of us who perform these on a regular basis, but it is still not widely available.
Avatar m tn It is distressing to experience so much pain with no headways to the cause coming. I understand that a thrombophlebitis of the arm vein following extravasation of one of the various irritant intravenous drugs given at the time of surgery could be a cause. This could have caused some damage to the ulnar and median nerves I nthe vicinity due to extravasation.
Avatar f tn The term could be referring to an active arterial extravasation/ haemorrhage. You might want to check this with your doctor. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar n tn You have described a well-known complication known as extravasation of contrast media (iodinated contrast for CT or gadolinium for MRI, the latter in your case), which means some or all of the contrast which was supposed to be injected into your veins leaked out into the surrounding soft tissues. Patients typically experience localized pain, swelling, itching, and/or redness.
Avatar m tn Got retested a month after, chlamydia tested positive again. They prescribed me Levofloxacin for 7 days, 1 pill a day, of which i took the last pill monday. Today we are wednesday. Now one of the symptoms i was having was a slight sticky clear discharge at the tip of my penis. This symptom was not present during the whole 7 days i took the levofloxacin. But now 2 days after i took that last pill, that symptom is present again.
Avatar f tn I went back for a re-test on the last day of the doxycycline, but still came back positive for chlamydia. So currently I’m taking a 14 day prescription for Levofloxacin. I’m on my 6th day. Still no symptoms. No pain after urination, no discharge, and no testicular pain. My questions are: 1.) Should I be concerned since this is my third antibiotic treatment for chlamydia? 2.) Am I able to drink coffee? I read on some sites that I shouldn’t drink coffee.

Avatar m tn I have a question regarding my epididymitis and if I have an STD. I'm 34 years old, male, straight. I had sex with a female 8 days and 22 days before this posting. I was covered with a condom properly, I believe, but there was oral without a condom. I started to feel bad around 5 or 6 days ago. I did have some malaise or tiredness around the onset, but I think that could happen to anyone, can't it?
Avatar n tn Most uncomplicated UTIs can be treated with oral antibiotics such as trimethoprim, cephalosporins, nitrofurantoin, or a fluoroquinolone (e.g., ciprofloxacin or levofloxacin). Trimethoprim is probably the most widely used antibiotic for UTIs and is usually taken for 7 days. It is often recommended that trimethoprim be taken at night to ensure maximal urinary concentrations and increase its effectiveness.
Avatar n tn Sure, there are lots of antibiotics. If you're allergic to azithromycin, you also probably can't take clarithromycin and erythromycin. And if doxycycline doesn't work, there's probably no used in taking tetracycline. So that does eliminate a lot of them. If the doxycycline isn't working, either your tests are consistently false positives, or you have a resistant strain. It's not typical, but it does happen.
Avatar m tn I immediately went to see an urologist, after telling him everything, he gave me a shot of Ceftriaxone at the center vein of the right arm and prescribed me two pills, Azee 500mg and Levofloxacin 750mg, 5 tablets each over 5 days after lunch(azee) and before sleep(levofloxacin). Today is the second day of my course and the burning sensation while urinating has reduced from before but the eyes still stay red throughout the day.

Avatar f tn It all started 5 months ago after receiving oral sex, from right next day I started having frquent urination and after one week of antibiotic (cipro and azithromycin) treatment all were normal. Avatar n tn Careful with Levofloxacin. Sometimes the side effects aren't worth the benefits. I took Levofloxacin to cure a bout of pneumonia. Sure enough, the infection cleared up, but my joints ached so bad I could not raise my arms to take a shower, put my clothes on, bend to tie my shoes, get in and out of a car quickly. Strength training and jogging was out of the question for a month.
Avatar f tn I went back to the doctor and he gave me levofloxacin for tonsillitis but my throat is still sore on the 8th day on levofloxacin. In september i had a lung infection which i used levofloxacin for and i was coughing up greenish phlegm and it worked for that. I did smoke blunts for that time in september but I've stopped smoking weed for about a month now, and everytime i would smoke weed i would get itchy.
Avatar f tn Hi, The edema of the ankles commonly occurs in the elderly due to a poor functioning of the heart and hence there’s stasis of the blood around the lower extremities resulting in edema of the feet due to extravasation of the fluids from the blood. Due to the poor functioning of the heart, there’s poor blood supply to the brain also which can result in confusion in the elderly. Left ventricular systolic dysfunction means left heart failure. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted.
Avatar m tn Hello, Pigmented purpuric dermatosis is a chronic disease characterized by extravasation of erythrocytes in the skin with marked hemosiderin deposition. Unfortunately there is no cure for this disease except steroid creams which are available by prescription. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist. I would suggest a dermatologist’s for the same.
