Careful with Levofloxacin. Sometimes the side effects aren't worth the benefits. I took Levofloxacin to cure a bout of pneumonia. Sure enough, the infection cleared up, but my joints ached so bad I could not raise my arms to take a shower, put my clothes on, bend to tie my shoes, get in and out of a car quickly. Strength training and jogging was out of the question for a month.
That is an excellent question, since both antibiotics are fluoroquinalones, the same class of drugs. It is not a good idea to take a "lot of these drugs". Tendon rupture and horrible aches and pains for months can result. People have different genetic tolerances. I can tolerate Cipro, for example, however Levofloxacin caused me terrible problems for almost eight months. Getting back to your question the answer is "probably", but not absolutely positively. .
Hey everyone, I've had chest and nose congestion for sometime now. I went to the doctor about a week ago when my symptoms were at its worse, intense wheezing, especially at night, runny nose, cough, and sneezing, that what was pretty much all I had but the wheezing was the worst part (I could hear myself breathing). My first doc prescribe me albuterol, prednisone and a z pack, I took eveything and started feeling better.
The loss of sensation around my scrotum made me initially think I had another mini stroke but I have no symptoms anywhere else and the only change or introduction to my body is this medicine mentioned above. After looking up side effects I am seriously wondering if this stuff is giving me this horrible side effect that may not yet be reported as such.

How are you? Indeed, some antibiotics including sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim and levofloxacin may cause headache as one of the side effects. This usually goes away after the course of the treatment. If it persists, inform your doctor about this for proper management. Take care and do keep us posted.
An alternative is levofloxacin, but ILADS is no longer recommending that because the side effects are dangerous and it is less effective (bart goes inside your body cells and levofloxacin only works outside them).
Is your doctor an ILADS member, or just a doc how tells you he knows about Lyme?There's a big difference.
There are herbs that work on bart but if your infection is bad, they won't help a lot (I say that since i am no herbs for bart and they are not doing much).
I now understand that levofloxacin can cure E. I thought it had to cure C or G, which would in turn cure my E. But it seems, though I'd like someone to confirm it if you have any knowledge, that levofloxacin directly cures E.

Epididymitis was cured by levofloxacin in 2 days but why and what caused my E in the first place?

Two weeks later after my menstruation i was experiencing symptoms of excruciating pain, not only in my vagina but i felt it in my cervix as well and it was all red. I also had bad smelling pee. A ran to my gynecologist and asked for an STD test, however due to lack of discharge he only checked me for chlamydia and he did a general swab.

Penicillin, ampicillin, cefotaxime are a similar drug class Cephaloporins and penicillin type drugs, and levofloxacin and cipro are also in their own drug class (quinolones) while vancomycin is a diffierent drug class.

With due respects, these symptoms are textbook side-effects of H.pylori treatment with a Levofloxacin protocol.
2 weeks after the last injection the microbioligal sample was negative, but DNA showed gardnerella vaginalis and I took 7 days Levofloxacin. Symptoms persist. I was tested for:
* Urine DNA Chlamydia test negative
* Urethral swab DNA for Trichomonas, ureaplasma and micoplasa - negative
I went to a surgeon for hemorroids who did prostate massage and told me I had problems with the prostate, but 2 months before that my prostate was normal in size on echograph.
I tested for gonorrhea, chlamydia, and HIV and all tests have been negative and I do not have any discharge...just aching. Is Levofloxacin prescribed for NGU and epidimitis? I apologize for so many questions, but I've always been a healthy person so I'm pretty concerned. Also, with all my blood work being normal is it still possible to have an infection?

I am 55 yrs old female and went for a physical and was told i had high blood presure, that day it was 144/92. I had a blood test and it showed high cholesteral 257. Doctor put me on 10 MG Lisinopril. I took the tab for 5 days on the fifth day my heart was pounding so hard in my chest and i felt like someone was sitting on my chest. This happened a few more time over the next week and it would go away after a few min.
22 days on sovaldi-olysio-no side effects,not even a headache.And to this life long non responder who has done and failed with everything that has been on the market,this combo is working.Cant believe I am getting better and not suffering like I did with all the previous poison.Its like Dr. Bones McCoy from Star Trek brought this stuff back from the future.
I woke this morning with aches and pains and have been experiencing a headache on and off all day that is when I am not SLEEPING. Honestly I am not complaining especially since I had expected much worse. My question is do the symptoms change or/and get worse as treatment continues. I would assume they do get worse since the meds build up in your body. I have 3 kids ages 16,11,and 7.
Did you taper off the vibryd or quit abruptly? You can't just switch from one medication to another even in the same class and avoid withdrawal -- these meds are not easy to stop taking and it must be done carefully. Unless you completely stop taking a medication before starting another it's impossible to tell if your symptoms are a sign you're suffering withdrawal and quit too quickly or are side effects of the new medication.
