483814 tn?1214311480 Serious and occasionally fatal events, such as hypersensitivity and/or anaphylactic reactions and some of unknown etiology, have been reported in patients receiving therapy with quinolones, including levofloxacin. These reactions may include effects on the liver, including hepatitis, jaundice, and acute hepatic necrosis or failure, and hematologic effects, including agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, and other hematologic abnormalities.
Avatar n tn Careful with Levofloxacin. Sometimes the side effects aren't worth the benefits. I took Levofloxacin to cure a bout of pneumonia. Sure enough, the infection cleared up, but my joints ached so bad I could not raise my arms to take a shower, put my clothes on, bend to tie my shoes, get in and out of a car quickly. Strength training and jogging was out of the question for a month.
Avatar m tn If Levofloxacin caused peripherial neuropathy will Cipro also if I take that as an alternate?
Avatar m tn Levaquin-Levofloxacin,though it is an antibiotic, has some common adverse effects on CNS as it passes the blood brain barrier.Headache, dizziness, and restlessness are among the commonest effects on the CNS. Others include tremor, drowsiness, insomnia, nightmares, and visual and other sensory disturbances ,tinnitus, Mal de Debarquement Syndrome etc. Generally these reactions subside when the drug is completely metabolized and eliminated from the body. There is nothing much to be worried.
Avatar m tn The most important issue at this time is to find the cause of the shortness of breath. Levofloxacin has been associated with a wide range of adverse events, many of which are musculoskeletal and so I would not be surprised if the suggestion that your multi-site musculoskeletal symptoms were the result of reactivation of a rheumatoid process.
Avatar n tn Now doctor is suusting her to go for avastin injection, now she is afraid to take it as there will be adverse effects. Is this true? And what the chance are for her to get her full sight back?
Avatar m tn Stop using Levaquin now.Its not that long that you have severe adverse effects,so better change the prescription.Use salt water gargles to relieve symptoms of Strep throat.Get a better medication like Cepahlosporins.
Avatar m tn I immediately went to see an urologist, after telling him everything, he gave me a shot of Ceftriaxone at the center vein of the right arm and prescribed me two pills, Azee 500mg and Levofloxacin 750mg, 5 tablets each over 5 days after lunch(azee) and before sleep(levofloxacin). Today is the second day of my course and the burning sensation while urinating has reduced from before but the eyes still stay red throughout the day.
Avatar f tn About 2 months ago I was prescribed Restasis Eye drops and after being on the dug for about 2-3 weeks I noticed that my mouth got extremely dry. So I looked up all the side effects and none included dry mouth. so I called the Dr. that prescribed it to me and I was told that 1% of patients get this dry mouth and I was told to discontinue use of the drug and come see the Dr in 1 month. It's been a month and I went to the Dr but the symptoms has gotten worse instead of better.
Avatar f tn I firmly believe that my psychiatrist should have warned me about the side effects of this med or any meds he prescribes. By God, they are sure to warn against effects of Viagra and other drugs on TV!!!!!! I would have never thought of telling him about mouth sores and a sore throat. I made no connection at all. I don't know how long it's going to take to get out of my system, but we stopped it on Friday and I hope I don't have any untoward effects from that.
Avatar f tn When you say Advair and Albuterol can cause adverse cardiovascular effects, do you mean both of them can cause adverse effects (either/or) or the two used together can cause adverse effects?
Avatar m tn I now understand that levofloxacin can cure E. I thought it had to cure C or G, which would in turn cure my E. But it seems, though I'd like someone to confirm it if you have any knowledge, that levofloxacin directly cures E. New question: Epididymitis was cured by levofloxacin in 2 days but why and what caused my E in the first place? Theory: Maybe my scrotum skin was weak during sex and it got infected during the sex process, but not by any STD.
Avatar m tn However since it did not do the trick my doctor tried Prednisone in hopes to allow my lungs to rest from the coughing reducing the inflamation however I only took it for three days because of the inability to sleep and the initiation of the erection problem starting. My doctor then prescribed the levofloxacin which is doing the trick on the bronchial issue but I have had a loss of sensation around my scrotum which, during sex, is the trigger for erection but none since this medicinal regimen.
Avatar m tn The adverse effects experienced are similar to those with use of adenosine. While adverse effects are less frequent with dipyridamole (47% of patients), they tend to be more serious than those associated with adenosine. The most common adverse effects of dipyridamole are chest pain (19%), headache (12%), and hypotension (4.6%). In addition, 12% of patients require aminophylline for reversal of adverse effects.
1286779 tn?1400012806 Some medications can have odd adverse effects in older people that don't happen when we're younger. My mother (same age as your mom) had really weird side effects from lyrica but it didn't help her pain so she quit taking it. I think your mom would benefit from a complete medication review by a gerontologist. That's a doctor who specializes in treating seniors.
Avatar f tn An alternative is levofloxacin, but ILADS is no longer recommending that because the side effects are dangerous and it is less effective (bart goes inside your body cells and levofloxacin only works outside them). Is your doctor an ILADS member, or just a doc how tells you he knows about Lyme? There's a big difference. There are herbs that work on bart but if your infection is bad, they won't help a lot (I say that since i am no herbs for bart and they are not doing much).
Avatar f tn Do you have allergies to these medicines or just adverse effects? Allergies are a biochemical response to chemicals that cause measurable physiologic changes and can be lethal. What many people call allergies are actually just adverse effects of the drugs (e.g., upset stomach from aspirin). Adverse reactions can be tolerated, allergies are more complex. Have you talked with your doctor? For example, Atenolol can definitely make people feel tired and foggy.
