unless the researchers have discovered something new.I have seen all these side effects in people and warn everyone of the possibility.I just don't see the rationale of blocking GABA during withdrawal,usually one wants to increase GABA in such conditions.But I do learn something new every day and if you find out the use of levaquin blink please let us know cause I am curious.
He said that he was concerned about prostatitis, and he gave me a script for Levaquin (750mg for 3 days, then 500mg for the next 7 days). Levaquin scares me to death, and I am definitely feeling mentally spacey after just the first pill. I realize that there could be other causes of urethritis, like adenovirus. So I kind of feel like the Levaquin is premature.
It seems I found a partial answer on the CDC website. However, my dose is 750mg for 5 days. The article says:

I guess I can assume the a 750mg 1x per day for 5 days is likely effective. Of course I don't understand the lower dose for longer periods vs higher for shorter and it's effectiveness.
, i go crazy, no sleep. shake in side and out , my heart beats so fast was so tired but there was no sleeping , when i finally did sleep had night terrors when i take steroids. i now only take them when it;s steroids or die. they also give me zanax and that helps. be careful and taper off the way the doctor wrote the scrip and call him or her and let them know ur side affects.
Levaquin-Levofloxacin,though it is an antibiotic,has some common adverse effects on CNS as it passes the blood brain barrier.Headache, dizziness, and restlessness are among the commonest effects on the CNS. Others include tremor, drowsiness, insomnia, nightmares, and visual and other sensory disturbances ,tinnitus, Mal de Debarquement Syndrome etc.
Generally these reactions subside when the drug is completely metabolized and eliminated from the body. There is nothing much to be worried.
An alternative is levofloxacin, but ILADS is no longer recommending that because the side effects are dangerous and it is less effective (bart goes inside your body cells and levofloxacin only works outside them).

There are herbs that work on bart but if your infection is bad, they won't help a lot (I say that since i am no herbs for bart and they are not doing much).

I got symptoms that resemble chlamydia or gonorrhea (frequent urination, weird feelin in the tip of my penis) so I took levaquin 750mg tabs once a day for five days. Is that enough levaquin to knock out either of those stds? I'm still gettin the urge to urinate frequently and now I'm wondering could it be some kind of bladder infection? The flu would not go away and was diagnosed 5 days ago with Pneumonia in my right middle lobe and put on Levofloxacin 750mg @ 1X for 5 days. Today is my final day of taking the drug. Two nights ago woke up from sleep in middle of night with terrible headache on my left side about the eye I had the laser surgery. The headache went away shortly after getting up for the day. Last night as soon as I laid down to bed I got the bad headache in the same place along with eye pain in my left eye.
Told me I had a slight case of epididymitis and gave me Levaquin 750mg followed by 500mg to take for two weeks. I began the levaquin and with in 3 days had to stop due to Bad side effects, to which the doctor recommended I take 40 days worth of Doxycycline.
After 20 days of doxycycline i still saw slight swelling, so I decided to go for a second opinion. The second Doctor examined me for seriously 10 secs, and said he doesnt see anything and for me to stop the antibiotics. SO i did.
Careful with Levofloxacin. Sometimes the side effects aren't worth the benefits. I took Levofloxacin to cure a bout of pneumonia. Sure enough, the infection cleared up, but my joints ached so bad I could not raise my arms to take a shower, put my clothes on, bend to tie my shoes, get in and out of a car quickly. Strength training and jogging was out of the question for a month.
Side effects should dissipate after discontinuing/finishing the medication. Did you finish all the tablets? It's very important to take all the pills that are prescribed to you because 1) it will fully get rid of the infection 2) If you dont finish the tablets, the next time you take this med, it will not be as effective .My guess would be that maybe something else is going on that is not in relation to Levaquin or maybe you were allergic to the med???
