But some fullness in ear and may be some hearing loss. I started having vertigo and dizziness (off balance feeling) only after that dose of Levaquin. I don't believe dizziness/balance problem has got to do anything with some issue in vestibular organ. I would feel off balance but then I go to play Tennis and i would play just like days I would when I didn't have this issue. So my balance is all fine and it's more of a psychogenic thing.
I am very concerned, as it seems everyday, there is a new symptom. I know that levaquin assaults the CNS, but the photophobia and hearing probs did'nt start til 3 yrs after the levaquin. The ears seem to be aggravated by the vicodin, though it did'nt cause the problem to start with. I obviously have some sort of nerve inflammation from the neck up. Please help ! Thank you!

Levaquin is an excellant ATB (Antibiotic). However like many medications it comes with some risks and side effects.

But with this fever spell the vertigo, loss of balance and powerful muscle spasms all made a come back as well.
I can tell when the fever is climbing because my face starts feeling warm and flushed.
i have been suffering from dampened/muffled hearing in my left ear on and off for about 2 years now. sometimes im fine, but when the flare ups occur its miserable. i also find that wheni grab my ear and pull back, my hearing seems to be perfectly fine, however when i let go or leave it alone it dampens. sometimes it gets to where i can basically hear nothing out of it and it feels like just pressure in my ear with the dampened hearing.
I'm trying to treat hearing loss from antibiotics. how can you know if the hearing loss is autoimmune? can a immunologist help with that?
In the end, if your hearing loss is permanent, and if there is some residual hearing left, a hearing aid can be worn, to help you hear better, and it will diminish the tinnitus. That said, hearing aids are not a cure for either tinnitus or hearing loss.
One more note, I hope they use contrast with the MRI, other wise the MRI will have little diagnostic value.
My doctor perscribes hydrocodone-Acetiminophen 5-500 for my severe neck tension and I take 1-1/2 almost every night. Never more than that. But, I noticed hearing seems to be dimmer in my left ear. Did research on hearing loss with this drug and now I'm scared to death. I want OFF! Can my hearing be reversed when I get this out of my system?
The ent I went to ordered an MRI and called to tell me that it showed nothing and just blew me off! He obviously is not taking my situation seriously. My sudden hearing loss was acute 2days ago, but then suddenly was 99 percent better when I awoke yesterday! Now again today I am almost completely deaf in the left ear. I mostly ask this question because music is a very important part of my life, i focus most of my time around musical activitys, im very concerned if working in a call center may damage my hearing and if that tinnitus is a sign of this. He declared that it might be a case that i am having such problem of my hearing loss in my left year since my childhood and told me that it is a problem in my ear nerve which is not curable never in future. Hi. I have been experiencing some really disturbing set of symptoms. I was a healthy and happy 22 year old and now feel almost crippled. I have peripheral neurpathy, horrible anxiety, deppression, nausea, weight loss. I took Levaquin for a UTI infection in November 2009 and didn't have symptoms then. I also had a susequent yeast infection. Do anybody have any idea what could be causing thIs? Thank you and God Bless.
After cold of 3-4 days, I observed problem of low hearing especially while chewing or eating food. Overall I feel hearing loss but while eating food, I can’t hear voice of person sitting next to me or television’s voice. As soon as chewing has finished voice is audible.
Can someone suggest any solution for this problem?
Recently I saw my MD and she ordered several blood tests and MRI to look for MS and other peripheral neuropathy causes. All blood tests and the MRI were normal. I think that I have had a severe drug reaction and do you think the shooting pain is Levaquin related? I took Ibuprofen for the tendon pain for 2 years starting the day after I finished the Levaquin 3 years ago. Did this increase the nerve damage? I have no balance or muscular strength problems.
