acne

Avatar n tn However, prices depend on the areas involved. These are prices for hair removal therapy, not necessarily for cases of ingrown hairs only. Hair removal laser surgery is costlier than other methods. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons the average price for laser treatment in the US is $ 229. http://hairremovaladvices.blogspot.com/ Another survey on laser hair removal treatments in the U.S.A.

Avatar f tn There are various methods like shaving, bleaching, depilatory creams, electrolysis or laser hair removal are available to remove the hair.Out of all these laser hair removal is the most long lasting.Nd YAG laser is very effective in long term reduction of hair.Risks include the chance of burning the skin or discoloring dark skin with the laser, hypopigmentation (white spots), and flare of acne. Pls consult a dermatologist/cosmetologist and discuss this with him/her. Hope it helps.
6346111 tn?1620504166 Hi, certain procedures are done for scar removal like dermabrasion, phototherapy including blue and red light, photodynamic therapy and laser treatment like laser resurfacing can be tried. I will advise you to seek help of a dermatologist who specializes in skin problems or a plastic surgeon, under whose guidance you could adopt the therapy that suits you the best. Regards.
Avatar n tn I suggest that you get advice from a physician (in person) rather than an esthetician. It's possible that you have ingrown hairs. If you do, laser hair removal might help. If you tweeze or pulls at your hairs, you need to stop. If it is acne, there are many medications, oral or topical, to consider. I don't think you ought to decide in advance what will or won't do the trick. Take care. Dr.
Avatar m tn Hello, There are many procedures of mole removal like by shave or deep elliptical excision, excision with cauterization (a tool is used to burn away the mole) and laser removal. Your dermatologist may choose excision with or without stitches, depending on the depth of the mole and the type of cosmetic outcome desired. Laser removal has less chances of leaving scars but it is also not without side effects. Discuss the details of these procedures with your dermatologist.

Avatar n tn I've been calling around, and I finally found a dermatology office that was willing to talk about prices. It was like pulling teeth, but an assistant eventually agreed to read to me from their billing schedule. First of all, an office visit costs $125, and nothing happens until you've had a consultation first, so that means $250 for the consultation plus the visit where the procedure is done.
Avatar f tn m currently undergoing laser hair removal on my face and have been told to avoid chemical peels, etc. until that procedure has been completed. In the mean time I guess I'll try and hang in there and look into proper cleaning and toning options.

Avatar m tn Drugs like androgen receptor blockers, androgen suppressing agents and 5 alpha reductase inhibitors are also used. Permanent means of hair removal by electrolysis and laser treatment are also useful. I would suggest you to consult a dermatologist and discuss all the pros and cons of these methods so that the best treatment for you can be decided.
Avatar f tn HI There, I had laser hair removal treatment carried out on my legs, underarms and bikini area 4 days ago. Whilst my underarms and bikini are healing well, I have broken out in an "acne" type rash which is itchy on my legs. I have been taking a piriton at night and piriteze during the day and also using sudocrem on my skin. Is there anything else that I can do to alleviate the itch, speed up the healing and prevent any scarring?
Avatar m tn I have a dense cataract in one eye and I was told that laser-assisted surgery may be better to help "break" it down instead of traditional. I've seen mixed research between the two; however, are there any shown benefits of laser over traditional cataract surgery? As in is it worth to pay out of pocket for it?
Avatar m tn Recently I received cortisone shots (5MG) in about 6 areas of my face that had hard swelling (not Acne). In the past, I have received the same treatment a few times, in different areas, but unfortunately this time I noticed major indentations in every area injected (different Dr. then previously used). I've heard this will come back with time (weeks/months) but want to be sure the body re-produces collagen in this area naturally, especially since this was not an acne induced indentation.
Avatar f tn s pretty much the same as it used to be. The laser clinics always promote laser hair removal as permanent, but what you learn if you press someone on the matter is that it's not permanent removal, it's permanent ”reduction.” Meaning that even the clinics know that some or most hairs will grow back. And yes, I don't think it matters whether your skin is dark or light. If the lasers target melanin/pigment in the hair, then the same laser ends up targeting the melanin in the skin!
Avatar n tn The excess hair on the face can be reduced by the laser hair removal...however, I do not think any insurance will cover the cost of it seeing they have it listed under "cosmetic". I've heard of hair removal creams I think it's called Vanic (sp?). That can be given by a dermotolgist. Metformin should help, it's one of the most common given medications for those who have PCOS. I take that along with Yasmin bc.
Avatar f tn I get breakouts on my skin very often and i have acne and rosacea. My skin used to be completely clear before i used the hair removal cream. Is there anything i can do to get rid of the marks?
Avatar n tn So about a month ago I decided to try removing my mole with apple cider vinegar. It seemed to work, but that little bit of OCD in me caused me to never be satisfied, as every time the scab came off, there was a slight bump where the mole used to be. I thought that the acv was not penetrating deep enough into the mole, and that was why it still remained raised, as there was some mole left over.
Avatar n tn Usually these scars improve through the use of a combination of laser treatment, dermabrasion or use of chemical peels. The treatment however would depend on the exact location and depth of the scars on the body the scars. Dermabrasion is a cosmetic surgery procedure performed most commonly to improve scars due to acne, chicken pox, small pox and other skin conditions. It involves removal of the superficial layer of skin with no blood loss.
Avatar n tn Take a look at my pictures to see how effective microdermabrasion and laser treatment can be at treating post-acne scars. You must wait 6 months after finishing Accutane treatment before having such procedures done because of the increased risk of scarring already fragilised skin. Oral retinoids can cause facial redness and it has only been 3 months since you finished Accutane. Use a good skincare regime for facial redness such as Clinique's Redness Solutions or Rosaliac by La Roche-Posay.
