6346111 tn?1620504166 Hi, certain procedures are done for scar removal like dermabrasion, phototherapy including blue and red light, photodynamic therapy and laser treatment like laser resurfacing can be tried. I will advise you to seek help of a dermatologist who specializes in skin problems or a plastic surgeon, under whose guidance you could adopt the therapy that suits you the best. Regards.

Avatar m tn Hello, There are many procedures of mole removal like by shave or deep elliptical excision, excision with cauterization (a tool is used to burn away the mole) and laser removal. Your dermatologist may choose excision with or without stitches, depending on the depth of the mole and the type of cosmetic outcome desired. Laser removal has less chances of leaving scars but it is also not without side effects. Discuss the details of these procedures with your dermatologist.

Avatar n tn I suggest that you get advice from a physician (in person) rather than an esthetician. It's possible that you have ingrown hairs. If you do, laser hair removal might help. If you tweeze or pulls at your hairs, you need to stop. If it is acne, there are many medications, oral or topical, to consider. I don't think you ought to decide in advance what will or won't do the trick. Take care. Dr.
Avatar n tn Hello, There are various methods like shaving, bleaching, depilatory creams, electrolysis or laser hair removal are available to remove the hair.Out of all these laser hair removal is the most long lasting.Nd YAG laser is very effective in long term reduction of hair.Risks include the chance of burning the skin or discoloring dark skin with the laser, hypopigmentation (white spots), and flare of acne. Pls consult a dermatologist/cosmetologist and discuss this with him/her. Hope it helps.
Avatar m tn Drugs like androgen receptor blockers, androgen suppressing agents and 5 alpha reductase inhibitors are also used. Permanent means of hair removal by electrolysis and laser treatment are also useful. I would suggest you to consult a dermatologist and discuss all the pros and cons of these methods so that the best treatment for you can be decided.

Avatar f tn m currently undergoing laser hair removal on my face and have been told to avoid chemical peels, etc. until that procedure has been completed. In the mean time I guess I'll try and hang in there and look into proper cleaning and toning options.

Avatar m tn Recently I received cortisone shots (5MG) in about 6 areas of my face that had hard swelling (not Acne). In the past, I have received the same treatment a few times, in different areas, but unfortunately this time I noticed major indentations in every area injected (different Dr. then previously used). I've heard this will come back with time (weeks/months) but want to be sure the body re-produces collagen in this area naturally, especially since this was not an acne induced indentation.
Avatar f tn I've experienced exactly the same thing following my laser hair removal treatment back in early 2010. I now have unsightly brown marks on my upper lip which seems to get worse each year despite the fact that I use a high factor sunscreen on the area. I am considering having an acid peel on the area this winter but need to carry out more research.
Avatar m tn You could also try laser hair removal. It's expensive and a bit painful, but it would significantly reduce the amount of hair permanently. It works best for people with darker hair and lighter skin since the laser looks for the color contrast. If you do laser hair removal, you'll probably use a lidocaine cream 30 minutes before the treatment. It basically feels like a rubber band snapping on your skin. Laser hair removal requires several treatments to work.
Avatar f tn Hi, I had a mole on my face and I did a mole excursion, a small brown spot grew back, and I did a mole laser removal surgery to get it remove. However after the laser removal surgery, my mole is not disorted and grown, it doesn't seem to be a tissue scar cause it is dark brown and a raiser lump has occurred. Is this an indication of something? Can I get mole removal again using laser or excision or it would keep coming back? Thanks!
Avatar f tn HI There, I had laser hair removal treatment carried out on my legs, underarms and bikini area 4 days ago. Whilst my underarms and bikini are healing well, I have broken out in an "acne" type rash which is itchy on my legs. I have been taking a piriton at night and piriteze during the day and also using sudocrem on my skin. Is there anything else that I can do to alleviate the itch, speed up the healing and prevent any scarring?
Avatar f tn I have had acne treatment by roaccutance nearly 2 yrs back...although i have a dark complexion but i have an uneven skin tone. It is darker around lips and forehead and sort of lighter on my cheeks, where there are acne scars ....Is there some thing that can give me an even tone.
Avatar n tn You Probably dont remember me but i posted probably a month ago about my acne redness? Anyway well so heres the bad news.. I just got back from the Derm today and he reviewed my skin and he said that my acne redness is scarring.. Now i thought scarring is indentions in the skin? Is it not and that acne redness will fade with time because according to my derm he said that my acne redness is scarring and that the redness wont go away and that theres nothing that can be done about it.
Avatar m tn While the Vbeam laser removes red from acne scar tissue, the Cool Touch laser tightens the skin from the inside out. But this requires more than two sittings to take effect. So you should follow up with your cosmetologist and get it done in multiple sittings. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar n tn The excess hair on the face can be reduced by the laser hair removal...however, I do not think any insurance will cover the cost of it seeing they have it listed under "cosmetic". I've heard of hair removal creams I think it's called Vanic (sp?). That can be given by a dermotolgist. Metformin should help, it's one of the most common given medications for those who have PCOS. I take that along with Yasmin bc.
Avatar n tn Hello doctor. I really hope I can get some helpfull advice, since I haven't found any in a year. I had gotten a tatto on my thigh about a year ago and it got infected. (MRSA probably) I got 3 boils on the area. Went to a doct, was prescibed antiobiotics and all went away. The only problem is that I have 3 purplish scars left that just won't go away no matter what I do. They are a little unflattened, and dark purple.
