Common Questions and Answers about Acne cyst removal

acne

Avatar n tn I have severe cysitc acne that covers my upper back. I went to a dermatologist for this condition beginning at age 12. During the course of treatment I was perscribed Minocycline, Doxycycline, tetracycline, and sulfa based medications, all resulting in allergic reactions. I was finally placed on Accutane with positive results while taking the drug, however six months after completing treatment, the acne returned again.
Avatar f tn I am 36 and had a 7cm complex cyst on my left ovary that had twisted (in march this year)..prior to the cyst twisting, my ob/gyn had placed me on Ortho Tricycline birth control pills to "shrink" the cyst, unfortunately a month later i ended up having emergency surgery resulting in the removal of my left ovary/fallopian tube, luckily the cyst was benign. BUT the dr kept me on the birth control pills for hormone control??
Avatar f tn I continue to experience cyst-like ingrown hairs on my inner thighs, even in the absence of hair removal procedures. It looks similar to cystic acne, though not as painful (except to look at). What are the best ways to prevent ingrown hairs? And, what can I do to treat ingrown hairs when I do get them?? Thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn It now does not ovulate, went for an MRI this week and there is a 2cm cyst on my right ovary. The new Dr. not the one that did the surgery suggested checking it again in late Nov. She said it looked hemmorhagic (which was what my previous two endometriomas were called when they were small), so I know this is another endometrioma. My concern is we still want to have a child...will my ovary ovulate with an endometrioma on it?
Avatar f tn I've had a series of strange ailments and I can't seem to figure them out. They started about 6 months into having an IUD, the skyla with levongestral hormone. I've read that Levongestral is extremely androgenic, and has been a trigger for Hidradenitis suppurativa. It started with random ingrown hairs, then a huge cyst in my panty line (that's never happened before) then some acne on my butt.
Avatar f tn I do not have bumps like this, however, I do have acne. I believe this started out like a pimple When looking at it, you notice the pin hole, but that's about it. If it weren't for that, I don't think you would notice it unless you rubbed my arm. It isn't raised. You can feel the bump underneath the skin, more like a cyst. It feels like a ball. I do see my doctor regularly for acne along with depression.
Avatar f tn This does happen sometimes because all of our sex organs work together and removal of any one part or procedures that affect their functioning (such as tubal sterilization or removal, hysterectomy, ovary removal, endometrial ablation) can throw everything out of whack. Have you considered taking birth control pills to regulate your cycle? I cannot speak for the remaining ovary being "pushed back" but things can get displaced to some degree when you have surgery.
Avatar f tn The removal is not bad at all. My doc just had me cough and yanked it out, didn't feel a thing.
Avatar f tn I have a small chocolate cyst about 3cm on my left ovary and a 6cm chocolate cyst on my right ovary as well as have endometriosis running around all over the place. I have never had surgery before. I found out about the all of this in January and have been putting off surgery due to life/ just plain scared to death. I have never had surgery ever so my anxiety level is high. I won't be getting the surgery til September and I have read a bunch of the posts about post op care.
Avatar n tn Hi doc, my girlfriend recently commented on slight acne on my back when I remembered an occurrence and in discussing this occurrence, got worried. 3 years ago I had a small, firm, pink bump on my upper back. I thought it was a zit. I tried to pop it, and it was very difficult to pop. I didn't get much secretion or “stuff” out; it was dry and bleed –felt hard and waxy - I couldn't tell if it was on or under my skin.
Avatar m tn Health anxiety is right. This is probably an acne cyst. Just leave it alone and stop fretting about it. It will likely diminish in time.
Avatar n tn I got what looks like a cyst on the back of my neck about a year and a half ago and i get what looks like cyst acne on my face and neck and my girlfriend just told me she has a cyst on her armpit it looks like the same thing is this anything serious
Avatar m tn But I believe it was a dermatofibroma that your doctor should have told you may not be fixed with removal. Sometimes removal of a larger raised (scar tissue)nodule creates a flat nodule(scar tissue). If what I'm thinking it is is correct, then this is completely normal. I would definitely speak to your doctor or a dermatologist to confirm this.
Avatar f tn I was in a similar situation 13 years ago and wish I had done things very differently. My gyn also pushed for ovary removal saying my cyst may be cancerous. I wish I had done more research on the importance / lifelong functions of the ovaries (and uterus) and sought out a gynecologist who used "watchful waiting" or agreed to do a cystectomy (removal of just the cyst) if the cyst was benign based on the frozen section results (done while in the operating room).
Avatar f tn I am now 9 weeks and my acne is awful. Cyst like, hard, painful ones that take weeks to go away! Now I can't use my retinA cream. Anyone else have tips to relieve this?
Avatar m tn She has given the blood sample for ca 125 and we are scheduling a surgery for cyst removal in 2 weeks . The complex cyst and the size and the nodules are freaking us out . I wanted to know from the experiences of the folks here a) what is the chance of an ovary removal in the surgery ? Her left ovary is all fine . b) what is the side effect of one ovary removal ?
Avatar n tn HI, Cysts larger than 5 cm may require surgical removal. The decision also depends on your age, symptoms, nature of the cyst etc. CA 125 levels are advisable. Your cyst is large and may require surgical removal. Consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Whether the ovary needs removal depends on how much damage has been done by the cyst. I do hope you have a good outcome for both you and the baby. These have been performed successfully in the past. Sometimes keeping the cyst through pregnancy poses an even higher risk than removal does. This is something a doctor must determine for the maximum safety of all. I hope you have a very good doctor!
