No it wouldn't be contagious since I'm assuming they are not having sex. She most likely called in because she is too uncomfortable, she doesn't want to be itching down there and be in pain while caring for your dad. I doubt she is making it up since that is a pretty embarrassing thing to tell someone you work for.
I get laryngitis after bouts of sinus infections or colds. I think it comes about from the infectious post nasal drip that constantly runs down my throat. It gets pretty terrible. The last time I had it was for 2 weeks or so. You really need to rest, drink plenty of fluids. If it's from an infection then you need to try to flush that infection out. I will get laryngitis also from constantly trying to clear my throat as well.
Hi, I went to ent the other day he used a camera to check my throat hes sent me for ultrasound scan and a CT scan due to a suspicious lump he says he thinks its an abcess or ulcer but couldnt see how big it was, now curious if it is an abcess or ulcer how on earth can it be removed as I have a few of them and antibiotics have never cleared them ?

I've had HSV 2 for over 10 years now and rarely have outbreaks. I recently had an outbreak and took Lysine to help and it feels like it is cleared up (it's been 9 days). Today I looked at the outbreak region with a handheld mirror and although the region no longer hurts, I can see what looks like a healing scar where the outbreak was. Should I wait until the area looks completely back to normal before having sex again? Can the outbreak be completely over if a scar still exists?
I got really worried so I was referred to an ENT doctor, he said it was just reflux laryngitis since he examined it with an endoscopy. However I have been sick a few times since then and every time the virus turns straight into terrible laryngitis. Before the surgery I very rarely ever got laryngitis but now it comes on so easily and lasts for a while. Is there any reason that this would be connected to my thyroid surgery? Oral is a low risk exposure but it is a risk for certain STDs such as HSV1/2, syphilis, Gono, NGU. Although and STD would cause throat issues it would not cause laryngitis... but your doctor could have misdiagnosed you. Best suggestion would be to get tested.
