lamotrigine with venlafaxine

Is anyone else on these? My psych doc has taken me off epilim and venlafaxine as I have packed on so much weight and was cycling heaps!

I am 24 years old, after severe depression/mania/psychosis from age 12-20 I tried many Antidepressants/mood stabilizers/anti psychotics and even ECT(with no effect), I finally got the right balance of 225mg of Venlafaxine in the morning(8am) and 300mg of Lamotrigine at night(8pm). I have been stable with limited mania/depression and no psychotic features for 6 years now.

Im just curious because some of my older friends are wanting children...but im on lithium, seroquel, venlafaxine, lamotrigine....and thats pretty much it... but obviously it would affect the fetus, but to what extent do you think? Im assuming this would be an odd questiong to ask my psych. I personally think that the lithium would kill the fetus, even though it is a some what low dosage... so this is more or less a curious question...

The extended-release capsule is usually taken once daily in the morning or evening with food. Take venlafaxine at around the same time(s) every day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take venlafaxine exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often or for a longer period of time than prescribed by your doctor.

I took the venlafaxine, but with low dose Zyprexa, 5 mg, but 2.5 would have probably been enough. It worked very well and i was able to give it all up once recovered.

and than can you also tell me if this drug causes weight gain and increased appetite. please keep in mind that i have issues with an eating disorder and will not take any meds for that will cause weight gain or appetite. thanks!

Then when me and my husband found out i was pregnant, i was switched to Lamotrigine which is the safest for pregnant women with seizures. I know its really hard for us women with seizures now that we are carrying a life inside, we need to be extra careful. I understand you...I sometimes feel like going to have an attsck but doubt it since I am taking meds, sometines I would think maybe my medication is not controlling it good. Or maybe these are just adverse reactions to the drug...

s extended release properties. Venlafaxine also has a pretty short half life also, which is why Effexor was designed with this slow release effect. This effect eliminates the spikes and fast drops from the drug in Effexor XR which is Venlafaxine. In shot this is why most people prefer Effexor XR vs Venlafaxine even though they are the same active chemical. Did I explain that good enough?

I am currently taking Wellbutrin XL 300mg, Lamotrigine 25 mg, Zyrtec, Levothyroxine 75mg, and Atenolol 50mg. I started Lamotrigine (lamictal generic) 2 weeks ago. On day 9, I developed severe diarrhea and cramps. It was slowed down with 1 pill of Immodium, but after 2 days I decided to eat a "regular" meal and got diarrhea again. So it's been on an off for 6 days, and this morning it was worse than it was the first day!

She tells me that the lowest dose of XL is 75mg. She has put me on 37.5mg daily Venlafaxine. I tried this as 150mg dose, and it was not the same at all as Effexor. Is there any alternative. I know Venlafaxine, is supposed to be the same as Effexor, but I don't think it is - at least my body said it was different!! I am now wondering what the next step is for me. What is the difference between Effexor XL and Venlafaxine. How do I reduce from 37.5mg Venlafaxine?

What are your experiences with the following drugs? I want to start with the drug that I have the best chance of maintaining my intellect, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and personalty.

i was just wanting to know if lamotrigine and quetiapine can cause sore throats I've been taking these meds for 4 days and I started getting sick after day 2

So I'm currently taking 75mg venlafaxine and 15mg mirtazapine the mirtazapine is great doing its job for the night time anxiety it's more than enough to calm me and help me sleep the night but my concern is the venlafaxine it's causing me stomach upset and feelings of low mood iv been taking this combo since beginning of December whilst some what it has levelled me out to the state I was currently in I don't feel as tho the venlafaxine is helping anymore as Iv been on it before a

m wondering if my doctor could prescribe something to help with my overactive bladder so I could keep taking the Lexapro or if I should just take something else instead. Lexapro is good in ways because it produces fewer side effects than any other SSRI med that I've tried and I've tried many of them. What do you think?

t had any obvious side effects so I have stayed on it in hopes that I will find an addition drug/supplement that may work with the venlafaxine to reduce my fatigue and other POTS symptoms. I want to warn you, though, that getting on venlafaxine is not too hard, but getting off of it is very difficult. I was on it years ago for depression and the withdrawal symptoms took me about a month to get through.

We compared mean stimulus intensity, mean seizure duration, and mean time to orientation after treatment for each patient during treatment with their highest and lowest lamotrigine dose. Today though, after 3 days with diarrhea, and while waiting for the labs my doctor request; I noticed these little white balls on my stool, and I panicked. I was prescribed venlafaxine recently and it was a nightmare. I was wondering if anyone else has had any experiences with it and other medicines used to combat the depression that seems to come and go with this disease.

i am on 450 mgs venlafaxine, 150mg quatipine at night and have prn 3x .25 quatipine during the day. venlafaxine isn't working anymore. I have been given 2 options.. option 1. taper very slowly over a very long period of time and take other meds to stablize me, option 2. go back to the psych ward and under supervision come off venlafaxine which then is going to be replaced by another anti dep.

I stopped taking Venlafaxine almost 1 year ago. My Pharmacist helped me with the "weaning" process, so things were okay for a while. Now here I am, a year later, and I actually feel WORSE than I did back then. The clinic I go to has rotating doctors (I do not have insurance regardless of "the affordable care act"), so it is difficult to relate to a physician every 3-4 months.

Hi, I'm bipolar I and have been on antipsychotics for little over a year now. Within a few weeks I'll be tapering off Abilify with the help of my pdoc. I'm happy about it, but I still wonder what your experiences have been with lamotrigine (Lamictal) as a monotherapy for bipolar I. I'd really hate to get manic again, but I also feel that Abilify is holding me back in my studies. Any tips and suggestions?
