My long time meds are for blood pressure... Amlodipine 5mg and lisinopril/HCTZ 20/25mg. Oh and lamotrigine 50 mg for the last two weeks. I quit heavy drinking a about 8 days ago reneeding hospitalization fot 4 days due to extreme withdrawal. Anyway as of today I'm noticing definite noticeable hand tremors. I'm wondering if it's from my combination of meds?
I've been on lamotrigine (lamictal) for years. I've taken many other medications for bp and not much has worked for whatever reasons. I did not find relief until I got on lamictal. It took several months to work the dose up a little at a time and some fine tuning to get the dose right. Now I'm on 300mg lamotrigine. I had some tremors and had some balance problems on the higher doses. I also take 450mg lithium carbonate and 60mg methylphenidate (this one's in the morning).
So my uncle died 6 years ago at age 28 do to a blood clot from his leg hitting his hard, and my older sister had a bout of what doctors thought was "episodal" MS. for the last 3 years i have had a significant change in my consciousness and my sight and over-all health. i have developed a quicker heart rate, higher blood pressure, ive never had a history of stress or anxiety.
I think they're confused. If you read the full prescribing information, it's the PILL that screws with the lamotrigine, not the other way around. It's not like a lot of other anticonvulsants. I take 200 mg of the generic, Lamotrigine but I have taken as much as 400mg. I have never had a problem with mania from it. However, lamotrigine works best in keeping depression away and does little in deterring mania. The mania you have been having may have nothing to do with lamotrigine but because it doesn't do anything for it when it comes on. Other mood stabilizers, like lithium and Depakote work well for mania. I would discuss the option of adding one of them to the lamotrigine.
Havent been in the sun. Ive been taking lamotrigine for about 2 weeks and I know its associated with some serious rashes. Went to GP when the rash wasnt this bad and she said its probably something viral and possibly the medication, talk to the person who prescribed the lamotrgine. Finally got a hold of prescribing nurse practioner who, over the phone, said to stop taking it and just take benedryl, it will be gone by this weekend. Benedryl is putting me to sleep but not doing anything.
my cholesterol is under control and at decent levels My blood pressure was borderline high in the past and I have been taking quinapril for a while now. (max dose). My blood pressure was better at ~ 120/90. I also take bupropion xl and was taking olanzipine. I have stopped the olanzapine, after long term use. Coming off the olanzapine, I have had more anxiety and more emotion, and have not slept very well. After stopping olanzapine, my BP was checked and was now high again at 148/110.
Hi. I'm so sorry for your loss. That hurts! I had a huge amount of hairloss. But it wasn't from the bipolar meds, instead, it started when my blood pressure medication increased. My thyroid was checked and everything is okay with that. Most recently, I have lost some weight and my blood pressure medicine has been cut in half. My hairloss is to a minimum. My doctors also checked my vitamin and mineral levels in my blood. I was found to have a deficiency in vit. D.
In about 2011 or so (i was like 17 I wanna say) I was perscribed Lamotrigine for bipolar disorder. Taking that medication seems to have been the stupidest thing I've ever done in my life. Or, the most coincidental occurance I've ever heard of. Just a week after tapering daily to the regular dose, I began to feel what I called "crippling anxiety". My doc hardly believed me when I said it and, get this, UPPED my dose of Lamotrigine.
He is on Efflexor and sodium viporate(?) and take Adacand for high blood pressure. He has lately ( in the last month) developed intermittent tremors in his arms/ hands, feeling of loss of balance. He took sick
Leave from work - he is under a lot of stress there but cannot leave as he only started there a few months ago. Prior to this he lost his last position under a 'restructure' but it was after he told them he had a psychological disorder that this 'restructure' took place.
I am currently taking Wellbutrin XL 300mg, Lamotrigine 25 mg, Zyrtec, Levothyroxine 75mg, and Atenolol 50mg.
I started Lamotrigine (lamictal generic) 2 weeks ago. On day 9, I developed severe diarrhea and cramps. It was slowed down with 1 pill of Immodium, but after 2 days I decided to eat a "regular" meal and got diarrhea again. So it's been on an off for 6 days, and this morning it was worse than it was the first day!
i was just wanting to know if lamotrigine and quetiapine can cause sore throats I've been taking these meds for 4 days and I started getting sick after day 2
I had about 10 depressive episodes in 2-3 years and they stopped completely when I started lamotrigine (well, apart from the one, but it was work related). You probably already know lamotrigine (Lamictal) works better for the depression side more than the manic side.
I was also on epilim and was taken off because of the weight gain, im now on lamotrigine, at the begining I found this to really lift my mood but then it wasnt enough so I was added some other medication, cant remember the name, I was ok for months but now for some reason I have started to cycle again.
and asked for a MRI (LSS) and lab tests which are serum calcium and ESR and TSH and blood sugar and i did the MRI but the pain is getting more and i slightly don't feel my leg as it have became heavy but as i said slightly but noticeable and i actually cant wait till Saturday as i am using a crutch and using my hand and one leg to move my body as the left leg hurts when i move it and specially when i put pressure and it feels like a nerve not a muscle nor a bone as i have had pain in both (

The normal reference ranges for lamotrigine are 2 – 20 ug/mL during chronic therapy. Detecting drug levels in the blood help in proper seizure control and reduction of side effects of the drug. It helps us in identifying whether the drug is in a therapeutic range or not. The decision of dosage adjustments depends on the doctor’s discretion and varies person to person. Since being on lamotrigine I have had broken sleep and weird dreams- anyone else had this? ALso at the moment I'm waking in early hours with tingling/itching in my feet. I have tried alsorts to relive it- the best I have found is to get and ice pack from the freezer and put that on. I hope freezing my feet doesn't do any harm! I think I'm going to gradually come off the lamotrigine cos it hasn't made any difference to my symptoms anyway.
