have read in many forums that lam is not the best, approached my doctor with this concern and she sugessted tenofovir. Should i start tenofovir immediately, how should i start. Should i just abruptly stop lam and move on to tenofovir, should i use both and gradually stop lam after a few day/weeks. No other options here. Nigeria (Africa), so i cannot combo with other drugs. NEED YOUR ADVICE HOUSE.
stop lamivudine immediately or switch to tenofovir, it is decades now lamivudine is not used because it can lead to cytopatic hbv mutations that cannot be control with any medication leading to cancer and cirrhosis despite hbsag negative, hbvdna undetectable and normal ast-alt, another reason not to use lamivudine is that it is even totally useless on hbv

Lamivudine is outdated and ur virus will multiply anyway someday due to resistance to it so best is change to tenofovir and also change ur doctor who even don't know in today's time lamivudine is not used.
Your only reasonable choice is tenofovir. Despite its chemical similarity, tenofovir is about 80 times less toxic to the kidneys than adefovir.

My doctor suggests that I participate in the drug trial of Tenefovir (Viread) versus Tenofovir in combination with Emtricitibine (Truvada). I have chronic Hepatitis B and Lamivudine resistance last year. He gave me a document to read and I did a bit of research on internet on the side effect. since you have used lamivudine the virus can be mutated now and the only drugs you can use are interferon or tenofovir, no other durgs
About one year ago when I conducted Hepatitis B profile, I had NON RELICATIVE INFECTION but about one year on lamivudine I am now REPLICATIVE. Please what does this suggest? I am planning to stop taking lamivudine because it gives me so much side effect ranging from stomach discomforts and back pains and general weakness. Doctor then prescribed lamivudine which I used for 3 months and discontinued. In 2014 I did a pcr and result was 700iu/ml, 2015 pcr was 1380iu/ml and just did another 3 days ago with result 101000 iu/ml, which prompted me to see a doctor.
